Molecular engineering of electrolytes for practical high-power and high-energy lithium metal batteries (LMBs) is a significant challenge due to the difficulty of simultaneously achieving high Li transport efficiency, minimal gas evolution, and stable cathode-electrolyte and anode-electrolyte interphases (CEI and SEI, respectively), with low charge-transfer resistance. Here, we introduce a fluorinated asymmetric lithium salt, lithium (2-(2-(2,2-difluoroethoxy)ethoxy)ethyl) ((trifluoromethyl)sulfonyl)amide (LiFOA), designed to optimize electrolyte physicochemical/electrochemical properties for stable LMB pouch cells under fast cycling conditions. LiFOA features a Li-affinitive side chain, which folds up and suppresses anion migration, resulting in a significantly heightened Li transference number ().

The sensor integrates two parallel Mach-Zehnder interferometers (MZIs) within a dual-side hole fiber (DSHF). One of the MZIs detects temperature with the help of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS), and the other detects RH using polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), labeled as MZI and MZI, respectively.

Encapsulating peritoneal sclerosis (EPS) is a life-threatening fibrotic condition characterized by severe abdominal adhesions, chronic inflammation, and significant morbidity. The lack of effective treatments for EPS stems from a limited understanding of its underlying mechanisms. In this study, we developed a modified mouse model of PD-induced EPS and investigated the role of the STING signaling pathway in disease progression.

With the significant development of large models in recent years, large vision-language models (LVLMs) have demonstrated remarkable capabilities across a wide range of multimodal understanding and reasoning tasks. Compared with traditional large language models (LLMs), LVLMs present great potential and challenges due to their closer proximity to the multiresource real-world applications and the complexity of multimodal processing. However, the vulnerability of LVLMs is relatively underexplored, posing potential security risks in the daily use of LVLM applications.

We have developed a readily feasible Mannich-type reaction of alkylazaarenes with aminals, demonstrating excellent functional group tolerance and scalability. Mechanistic studies reveal that the reactivity and selectivity are governed by the electronic effects in conjunction with the stability and steric hindrance of the enamine intermediates. The resulting aminomethylated products hold promising potential for applications in organic synthesis, medicinal chemistry, and ligand design.

Currently, they often suffer from substrate-induced parasitic losses and interference, stringent collimation requirements imposed by angle-dependent resonance excitation, and cumbersome peripheral optical components due to reflection-mode operation. To tackle these issues, geometrically protected BICs are employed in a substrate-free single-layer asymmetric dual grating structure of high-resistance silicon to achieve narrowband polarization-controlled dual transmissive/reflective THz filtering with high- factors, broad stopbands, and tolerance to incident angles, simultaneously.

Background: The American Heart Association (AHA) introduced the concept of cardiovascular-kidney-metabolic (CKM) health and stage, reflecting the interaction among metabolism, chronic kidney disease (CKD), and the cardiovascular system. However, the association between CKM stage and the long-term risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) has not been validated. This study aimed to evaluate the long-term CVD risk associated with CKM health metrics and CKM stage using data from a population-based cohort study.

The Chinese visceral adiposity index (CVAI) has been demonstrated to respond more effectively than conventional measures in reflecting visceral fat characteristics in the Chinese population. This study aimed to explore the relationship between CVAI and bone mineral density (BMD), FRAX scores, and osteoporosis in Chinese elderly individuals with hypertension.

Toxoplasmosis in animals also leads to substantial economic losses in animal husbandry. Currently, no effective treatments are available for toxoplasmosis, creating an urgent need for safe and efficient therapeutics.

However, an intuitive and easy-to-use risk score incorporating CKM health metrics remains needed to prevent CVD in daily practice. We constructed an acronym-based clinical risk score using CKM-related predictors and externally validated its predictive performance for total CVD and its subtypes of atherosclerotic CVD and heart failure, based on two prospective community-based cohorts.

To systematically elucidate the competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) network governing porcine adipocyte differentiation, we isolated primary preadipocytes from piglets, induced differentiation, and performed comprehensive RNA sequencing that identified 504 differentially expressed (DE) circRNAs, 126 DE miRNAs, and 1615 DE mRNAs between proliferative and differentiated states, revealing an extensive transcriptomic rewiring during adipogenesis. Functional characterization demonstrated that two circRNAs, circSAMD4A and circLPAR1, significantly promoted lipid accumulation.

The global usage of triclosan (TCS)-containing disinfectants posed toxicity threats to freshwater biodiversity; at the same time, the ecological risk assessments based on Species Sensitivity Distribution (SSD) models overestimated the Predicted No-Effect Concentration (PNEC) of the TCS due to neglecting toxicity data for the secondary trophic level protozoa. This study conducted acute and chronic toxicity tests to obtain the toxicity parameters of Paramecium sp. (96 h-EC=149 μg/L, 7 d-EC=41 μg/L), Colpoda sp.

Carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) and chitosan (CS) are two renewable, biodegradable, environmental-friendly, and bio-based materials, which are widely found in nature and have great environmental and economic values. However, the presence of carboxyl and hydroxyl groups in the structure of CMC makes it highly sensitive to water, and CS can only be dissolved in acidic systems and has insufficient rheological properties, which limits the application of these two materials in the field of food packaging.

We tackle the challenge of efficiently reconstructing a 3D asset from a single image at millisecond speed. In this work, we introduce Gamba, an end-to-end 3D reconstruction model from a single-view image, emphasizing two main insights: (1) Efficient Backbone Design: introducing a Mamba-based GambaFormer network to model 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) reconstruction as sequential prediction with linear scalability of token length, thereby accommodating a substantial number of Gaussians; (2) Robust Gaussian Constraints: deriving radial mask constraints from multi-view masks to eliminate the need for warmup supervision of 3D point clouds in training. We trained Gamba on Objaverse and assessed it against existing optimization-based and feed-forward 3D reconstruction approaches on the GSO Dataset, among which Gamba is the only end-to-end trained single-view reconstruction model with 3DGS.
