Methods: Mouse model of PCABI was induced by hyperkalemia-induced asystole and successful resuscitation.
Background: Senile epilepsy and its comorbidities pose a tremendous burden on patients and the society. This study was aimed to investigate the clinical characteristics and comorbidities of senile epilepsy, as well as the impact of comorbidities on the prognosis of senile epilepsy.
Methods: Information of patients with senile epilepsy was retrospectively collected from three tertiary hospitals in Southwest China between December 2014 and December 2022.

Background: Ictal examination based on video-based electroencephalography (EEG) is crucial for locating and lateralizing seizures. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the quality of ictal examination in the Comprehensive Epilepsy Center of West China Hospital, Sichuan University, in order to provide information for quality improvement in daily clinical practice.
Methods: Video recordings of 100 patients with epilepsy were retrospectively reviewed.
The small hive beetle (SHB), Murray (Coleoptera: Nitidulidae), has become a ubiquitous, invasive, and highly destructive pest of western honeybee ( Linnaeus) hives worldwide. Beekeepers often attempt to control this beetle chemically. Still, ineffective registered control options and rampant off-label chemical use in the beekeeping industry have driven research toward alternative pest management strategies.

Therefore evaluating the effects and causes of spatial association comprehensively and objectively to promote the low-carbon transition of the logistics industry and coordinated development between regions, is important. Based on the global EBM model of undesirable output, this study measured the green, low-carbon development level of inter-provincial logistics in China and revealed the spatial association features of low-carbon development in the logistics industry, as well as the formation mechanism.

Heart failure (HF) is a major cardiovascular disorder characterised by high prevalence and mortality rate. Recent studies have emphasised the role of autophagy in development and progression of HF. Dysfunctions in lysosomes and autophagic processes are closely associated with the aetiology of HF.

Post-CA brain injury (PCABI) is a major cause of death and poor recovery in CA patients and the current CA treatments are not very effective. The microbiome-gut-brain axis has been found to significantly affect brain ischemia injury.

However, the development of cancer vaccines has been significantly hindered by the low immunogenicity of tumor antigens. To address this challenge, substantial efforts have been made in developing innovative adjuvants to elicit effective immune responses.

Methods: A retrospective analysis of 60 patients who underwent percutaneous coronary intervention at the General Hospital of Ningxia Medical University from October 2022 to August 2023 was conducted. The patients were divided into two groups: 30 received IVUS-guided coronary intravascular lithotripsy and 30 underwent IVUS-guided rotational atherectomy.
This study investigates the impact of liquid state fermentation on the key flavor compounds and microbial community structure in Chinese rice wine brewed from five different raw materials: buckwheat, sorghum, japonica rice, glutinous rice, and black rice. Using HS-SPME-GC-MS and HPLC, the volatile compounds were analyzed across various grain liquefaction methods, detecting 82 volatiles, including esters, alcohols, aldehydes, and acids. The concentration of flavor compounds such as esters, amino acids, phenolic acids, and organic acids varied significantly depending on the raw material used.

However, the optimal caloric intake target during the acute phase of AE remains unclear.
Objective: This study aims to evaluate the impact of caloric intake on short-term clinical outcomes in AE patients, specifically focusing on the improvement in Clinical Assessment Scale for Autoimmune Encephalitis (CASE) scores, to provide recommendations for nutritional support during the acute phase.

Family members frequently provide both physical and emotional support to patients. Previous studies have focused primarily on the experiences of patients with traumatic brain injury (TBI) and their caregivers during home care and the transition from hospital care to the community, with less emphasis on their experiences during acute hospital care immediately after TBI. This study aimed to explore the experiences of caregivers of patients with TBI during acute hospitalizations.

Awake-prone position combined with noninvasive ventilation or high-flow nasal cannula ventilation has been shown to be safe in the treatment of patients with moderate to severe ARDS and COVID-19, and may avoid intubation and reduce patient mortality. We conducted a cross-sectional study in a hospital to observe the effect of prone position on neurological patients with SARS-CoV-2. A total of 52 neurological patients with SARS-CoV-2 participated in the survey.

To tackle these issues, we have developed a multifunctional hydrogel (CHI/CPBA/RU), composed of chitosan (CHI) modified with 4-carboxyphenylboronic acid (CPBA) and the natural flavonoid, rutin (RU). This design endows the hydrogel with body temperature-responsive adhesion and low temperature-triggered detachment, thus enabling painless removal during dressing changes.

Cardiac arrest and successful resuscitation cause whole-body ischemia and reperfusion, leading to brain injury and extracerebral multiple organ dysfunction. Brain injury is the leading cause of death and long-term disability in resuscitated survivors, and was conceptualized and treated as an isolated injury, which has neglected the brain-visceral organ crosstalk. Extracerebral organ dysfunction is common and is significantly associated with mortality and poor neurological prognosis after resuscitation.

In this study, we evaluated the susceptibility of 20 yellow squash and zucchini () cultivars to MEAM1, across three growing seasons in the southeastern United States. Weekly sampling of the numbers of MEAM1 adults, nymphs, and eggs were conducted from the fourth week after seed sowing and across 6 weeks during the summer and fall of 2021 and five weeks during the fall of 2022.

Background: Coronary artery disease is a prevalent global cardiovascular ailment, with percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) standing out as a crucial method for relieving symptoms and enhancing the quality of life in patients with coronary heart disease. However, the presence of concurrent chronic total occlusion (CTO) and bifurcation lesions within coronary arteries elevates the complexity and treatment risks, especially when the entry point of the CTO is ambiguous.
Objective: This study aims to present an innovative approach for treating CTO complicated with bifurcation lesions, focusing on true cavity pathfinding assisted by a balloon.
A lot of drilling wastes are produced during oil/gas exploration and exploitation in China. Many countries have built and successfully run projects to dispose of wastes in salt mines, which fully demonstrates the feasibility and superiority of this technology. The application prospects of using salt mines to dispose of drilling wastes is comprehensively evaluated from many aspects.
