This study demonstrates the postsynthesis of Ti-Sil-BEA zeolites via silanization-modified parent BEA zeolite and its application in catalyzing epoxidation reactions of dicyclopentadiene (DCPD). Information on per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) transfer mediated by insects in landfills was limited. The influence of temperature and humidity on PFASs transport by dipteran insects and on PFASs concentrations in leachate was investigated in this study, which was conducted at a large municipal solid waste landfill. Short-chain PFBS and PFPeA were the dominant PFASs in leachate, while GenX and 6:2 FTS were the primary contributors to PFASs in dipteran insects in the landfill.

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a chronic, relapsing inflammatory disorder of the intestine, frequently complicated by intestinal fibrosis. The mutational landscape of phylogenetically ultraconserved elements (UCEs), especially those in noncoding DNAs (ncUCEs), and their functional relevance in cancers remain poorly characterized. Here, we perform a systematic analysis of whole-genome and in-house targeted UCE sequencing datasets from more than 3000 patients with cancer of 13,736 UCEs and demonstrate that ncUCE somatic alterations are common. Using a multiplexed CRISPR knockout screen in colorectal cancer cells, we show that the loss of several altered ncUCEs significantly affects cell proliferation.

Disulfide is an important organic reagent and synthetic intermediate that is widely used in organic synthesis, polymers, and other fields, but its synthesis still suffers from many environmental pollution and economic problems. Here, we present an environmentally friendly and efficient base-free aerobic oxidative thiol coupling catalyzed by heterogeneous CoO nanoclusters entrapped in hierarchical silicalite-1 zeolite, synthesized by combining silane pore expansion and metal coordination methods under hydrothermal conditions. It is confirmed that open hierarchical channels favor mass diffusion, and the chemical valence of Co species in CoO/-S-1-H is +2, which is different from that of CoO particles in CoO/-S-1-I.
