Objectives: Extramedullary involvement in multiple myeloma (MM) represents aggressive disease, with clinical stratification of primary extramedullary disease (EMD) remaining a challenge. In this study, we aimed to develop a credible nomogram utilizing routine laboratory variables to predict individual survival for primary EMD patients.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed a cohort of 60 primary EMD patients, from January 2006 to December 2022.
Uterine glands and their secretions are essential for conceptus survival and development, with abnormalities in uterine gland morphogenesis (adenogenesis) are closely related to high rates of peri-implantation embryonic loss in humans and livestock. While uterine adenogenesis occurs postnatally in most mammals, the key regulatory factors and mechanisms governing this developmental event remains largely unexplored. Our recent study reveals that cysteine dioxygenase (CDO) is highly expressed in the uterus of adult mice, which is also rich in taurine.

Importantly, the cellular metabolic state plays a vital role in regulating cellular behavior, and strategies aimed at enhancing cellular energy metabolism hold great promise for promoting tissue regeneration. Herein, we present a multifunctional and bioactive silk fibroin-poly(citrate-curcumin)-metal-based biomimetic matrix (SFPC) designed to treat methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA)-infected wounds by promoting bioenergy-induced angiogenesis.

The progression of disease (POD) within 24 months is well-established as an early indicator in various lymphomas. However, the aggressive nature of extranodal NK/T-cell lymphoma (ENKTL) necessitates a shorter assessment period. In this study, we examined POD metrics in 170 newly diagnosed ENKTL patients receiving asparaginase-based regimens.

Depressive disorders are a class of common mental illnesses that seriously damage human health. The variety of antidepressant drugs is large and the incidence of adverse effects is high.

This article aims to summarize the clinical manifestations and imaging features of 80 cases of BA, with the goal of achieving a comprehensive and systematic understanding of BA.
Materials And Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 80 patients with BA confirmed by surgical pathology in our hospital.
Aims: To investigate the multimodal ultrasonography (US) features of extramedullary plasmacytomas (EMPs) in patients with multiple myeloma (MM).
Material And Methods: Nine patients with MM who were diagnosed EMPs and underwent multimodal ultrasonography were enrolled in this study. Clinical information and multimodal US results were retrospectively analyzed.
Objective: By discussing the difference, stability and classification ability of tumor contour extracted by artificial intelligence and doctors, can a more stable method of tumor contour extraction be obtained?
Methods: We propose a novel framework for the automatic segmentation of lung tumor contours and the differential diagnosis of downstream tasks. This framework integrates four key modules: tumor segmentation, extraction of radiomic features, feature selection, and the development of diagnostic models for clinical applications. Using this framework, we conducted a study involving a cohort of 1,429 patients suspected of lung cancer.

Nanomaterials usually possess remarkable properties, including excellent biocompatibility, unique physical and chemical characteristics, and bionic attributes, which make them highly promising for applications in tissue regeneration. Thermal therapy has emerged as a versatile approach for wound healing, nerve repair, bone regeneration, tumor therapy, and antibacterial tissue regeneration. By combining nanomaterials with thermal therapy, multifunctional nanomaterials with thermogenic effects and tissue regeneration capabilities can be engineered to achieve enhanced therapeutic outcomes.

Isa 20-mg/kg was administered weekly (QW) in cycle 1, then biweekly (Q2W). Twenty-one extensively pretreated RRMM patients (median 4 prior lines; 95.

Unconventional 1T' phase transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) show great potential for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). However, they are susceptible to transitioning into the stable 2H phase, which reduces their catalytic activity and stability. Herein, we present a scalable approach for designing thermally stable 1T'-TMDs hollow structures (HSs) by etching CuS templates from pre-synthesized CuS@TMDs heterostructures, including 1T'-MoS, MoSe, WS, and WSe HSs.

The conventional anti-inflammatory drug treatment suffers to the poor bioavailability and side effects. Herein, we developed an amphiphilic multifunctional poly (citrate-polyglycol-curcumin) (PCGC) nano oligomer with the robust anti-inflammatory activity for treating acute lung injury (ALI) and (MRSA) infected wound.

While previous studies focused on conventional 2H-phase Janus monolayers, the scalable synthesis of an unconventional 1T' phase remains challenging. We present a novel solution strategy for fabricating Janus 1T'-MoOSe and MoSSe monolayers by growing sandwiched Se-Mo-O/S shells onto Au nanocores.

Background: As the overall survival (OS) of patients with multiple myeloma (MM) improves, the incidence of second primary malignancy (SPM) in long-term complications increases. However, there are limited data regarding MM as a SPM. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the time trends in the incidence of MM, as well as the incidence and survival of patients with MM as the SPM.

Chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) is a type of hematologic malignancies caused by BCR-ABL chimeric oncogene. Resistance to tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) leads to the progression of CML into advanced stages. Selinexor is a small molecule inhibitor that targets a nuclear transporter called Exportin 1.

In this study, we show that MAPKi-resistant melanoma cells are more motile and invasive than the parental cells. We further show that LAMB3, a β subunit of the extracellular matrix protein laminin-332 is upregulated in MAPKi-resistant melanoma cells and that the LAMB3-Integrin α3/α6 signaling mediates the motile and invasive phenotype of resistant cells.

The manipulation of oxygen vacancies (OVs) in metal oxides has progressively emerged as a versatile strategy for improving their catalytic performance. In this study, we aim to enhance the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) performance of cerium oxide (CeO) by doping heteroatoms (Fe, Co, Ni) to generate additional OVs. We systematically analyzed both the morphology and electronic structure of the obtained CeO catalysts.

Background: Job performance is known as an essential reflection of nursing quality. Colleague solidarity, positive emotion, and turnover intention play effective roles in a clinical working environment, but their impacts on job performance are unclear. Investigating the association between nurses' colleague solidarity and job performance may be valuable, both directly and through the mediating roles of positive emotion and turnover intention.

Epidemiologic studies have demonstrated a direct correlation between fine particulate matter (FPM) exposure and the high risk of respiratory diseases. FPM can penetrate deep into the lung and deposit in the alveoli with breath, where it directly interacts with alveolar epithelial cell (APC). However, we know little about the effects nor mechanisms of FPM on APC.

Here a unique dual-membrane-camouflaged miRNA21 antagomir delivery nanoplatform (M@NPs/miR21) with immune escape and homologous targeting properties was constructed by cancer cell membrane and macrophage membrane. Different from the single-cell membrane camouflage strategy, the dual-membrane camouflage miRNA21 antagomir delivery nanoplatform based on modification of CD47 protein with immune escape signal and galectin-3 protein with tumor cell aggregation enables efficient, safe and targeted therapy for colon cancer and lung metastases.
