Stroke is a leading cause of adult disability worldwide, with approximately 101 million survivors globally. Over 60% of these individuals live with from long-term, often lifelong, movement impairments that significantly hinder their ability to perform essential daily activities and maintain independence. Post-stroke movement disabilities are highly associated with structural and functional changes in motor descending pathways, particularly the corticospinal tract (CST) and other indirect motor pathways via the brainstem.

Optical absorption and scattering are critical properties of biological tissues, but strong background light often obscures this information, limiting imaging contrast and the visualization of tissue microstructures. Current methods for enhancing imaging contrast rely on image processing and noise suppression, but often lose critical details under strong background light. To address this issue, we propose a dual-modal imaging technique based on a low-rank and sparse matrix decomposition (LRSD) of light fields, enabling simultaneous high-contrast imaging of absorption and scattering and significantly improving imaging performance.

A total of 180 postpartum women were included and divided into intervention group and control group according to different nursing methods, receiving comprehensive intervention strategy and routine postpartum care respectively. By assessing with the Anxiety Self-Rating Scale, Psychological Health Questionnaire, and Mother-Infant Relationship Questionnaire, differences in maternal separation anxiety, psychological health status, and mother-infant relationship quality between the 2 groups were compared.

Given the increasing rates of international travel, climate change, and immunosuppression, neuroparasitic diseases represent a major global health concern. Accurate diagnosis relies on non-invasive medical imaging combined with exposure history and laboratory testing.

We evaluated a new MCED test that analyzes plasma cell-free DNA using genetic- and fragmentomics-based features from whole-genome sequencing. The present study included an internal validation cohort of 3,021 patients with cancer and 3,370 noncancer controls, and an independent cohort of 677 patients with cancer and 687 noncancer individuals.

Objectives: The shape is commonly used to describe the objects. State-of-the-art algorithms in medical imaging are predominantly diverging from computer vision, where voxel grids, meshes, point clouds, and implicit surface models are used. This is seen from the growing popularity of ShapeNet (51,300 models) and Princeton ModelNet (127,915 models).

Purpose: To establish the normal ranges of the main portal vein (MPV), left portal vein (LPV), and right portal vein (RPV) diameters in children and adolescents using abdominal contrast-enhanced CT.
Methods: We retrospectively enrolled children and adolescents (under 19 years) who underwent abdominal contrast-enhanced CT examinations in our hospital between January 2018 and January 2024. Subjects with conditions potentially affecting the portal vein diameter were excluded.

Tumor therapy has historically been a global research focus, with phototherapy garnered significant attention as a innovative treatment modality. However, the antioxidant defense system in the tumor microenvironment, characterized by excessive glutathione (GSH) and thiol-containing proteins, often limits the effectiveness of photodynamic therapy. In this study, we report the development of a new multifunctional integrated nanozyme with thioredoxin reductase-oxidase (TrxRox) and GSH-oxidase (GSHox)-like activities.

With the widespread use of neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC), the optimal management strategy for axillary lymph nodes following chemotherapy has become a hot topic of discussion. For patients with clinically positive axillary lymph nodes (cN +) (defined as axillary lymph nodes confirmed positive by pathology before NAC), axillary lymph node dissection (ALND) remains the current standard treatment. However, there is still no consensus on whether sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) and other local axillary treatments following NAC can safely replace ALND to reduce injury and complications.

We introduce the largest abdominal CT dataset (termed AbdomenAtlas) of 20,460 three-dimensional CT volumes sourced from 112 hospitals across diverse populations, geographies, and facilities. AbdomenAtlas provides 673 K high-quality masks of anatomical structures in the abdominal region annotated by a team of 10 radiologists with the help of AI algorithms. We start by having expert radiologists manually annotate 22 anatomical structures in 5,246 CT volumes.

Purpose: This article aims to analyze pediatric meningioma's imaging characteristics, especially those in unusual locations.
Methods: Pediatric patients with pathologically confirmed meningiomas at our hospital from January 2010 to January 2024 were enrolled. Meningiomas located in the cerebral convexity, parasagittal falcine region, anterior skull base, middle skull base, sphenoid ridge, cerebellopontine angle (CPA), olfactory groove, or juxtasella were considered in usual locations.
Background: Ovarian cancer is an aggressive malignancy with high mortality known for its considerable metastatic potential. This study aimed to explore the expression and functional role of Unc-51 like autophagy activating kinase 2 (ULK2) in the progression of ovarian cancer.
Methods: ULK2 expression patterns in ovarian cancer tissues as well as benign tumor control samples obtained from our institution were evaluated using immunohistochemistry.

However, these AI models often struggle with flexibility for partially annotated datasets and extensibility for new classes due to limitations in the one-hot encoding, architectural design, and learning scheme. To overcome these limitations, we propose a universal, extensible framework enabling a single model, termed Universal Model, to deal with multiple public datasets and adapt to new classes (e.

Fetal adenocarcinoma of the lung (FLAC) is a rare form of lung adenocarcinoma and was divided into high-grade (H-FLAC) and low-grade (L-FLAC) subtypes. Despite the existence of some small case series studies, a comprehensive multi-omics study of FLAC has yet to be undertaken. In this study, we depicted the multi-omics landscapes of this rare lung cancer type by performing multi-regional sampling on 20 FLAC cases.
