A series of metallofullerene single-ion magnets embedded with [DyO] and [DyO] fragments were designed to probe the magnetic anisotropies and magnetic relaxation mechanisms using complete-active-space self-consistent field (CASSCF) calculations. CASSCF calculations showed that fullerenes with different diameters exert marginally varying influences on both the quantum tunneling of magnetization and energy level splitting, ultimately causing changes in energy barriers. Notably, [DyO] encapsulated in the fullerenes of C shows the best behavior.

Objectives: The Yangluan Formula (YLF) influences the outcomes of in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer (IVF-ET) in infertile women with diminished ovarian reserve (DOR); however, the potential mechanisms by which YLF ameliorates DOR have not yet been elucidated. The aim of this study was to examine the effects of YLF on IVF-ET outcomes in infertile women with DOR, and to elucidate the potential mechanisms by which YLF addresses DOR.

Methods: Non-targeted metabolomics studies were conducted on follicular fluid specimens procured from individuals with DOR treated with or without YLF, and from patients with normal ovarian reserve who underwent IVF-ET treatment.

The bony lid technique can be a highly valuable procedure when facing surgical challenges, such as the presence of a thick, intact cortical plate, associated with large periapical lesions in posterior teeth. The critical task of accurately defining the location and dimension of the bony lid is a clinical concern that demands careful consideration. This case report, through three cases, illustrates the application of dynamic navigation in guiding the determination of point positions and osteotomy angles on the buccal bone plate.

A Ni(OH)/NiFe-PBA heterostructure nanoarray catalyst was designed as an efficient oxygen evolution reaction (OER) electrocatalyst for alkaline seawater electrolysis, achieving a current density of 10 mA cm at an overpotential of 292 mV. Notably, the Ni(OH)/NiFe-PBA catalyst undergoes reconstruction during the OER, generating NiOOH as the active site and Fe(CN) species as the Cl repelling layer, suppressing chloride oxidation and improving stability. This synergistic mechanism enhances catalytic stability, enabling sustainable operation for 1000 hours at 500 mA cm, offering a viable strategy for hydrogen production from seawater.

Bladder cancer (BLCA) is one of the most frequent malignant tumors worldwide, with markedly poor prognosis when distant metastasis occurs. Long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) TRPM2-AS has been reported to play an oncogenic role in several cancers. Although TRPM2-AS was previously revealed to suppress BLCA cell growth, its role in BLCA cell metastasis remains largely unknown.

The five major plateau lake basins in central Yunnan are densely populated areas with high land use intensity. The spatiotemporal changes in land use significantly affect the ecological environment quality of the entire basin. This research utilized land use data from 1990 to 2020, and the InVEST model to analyze land use change and its impact on habitat quality in the basin.

The lithium-rich manganese-based layered oxide (LRMO) cathode shows grar promise for high-energy density and environment-friendly batteries due to its cation and anion redox. However, it suffers from continuous electrolyte consumption and capacity decay, especially at high mass loadings (>10 mg cm). Conventional electrolyte/interphase strategies fail to address the structural characteristics of LRMO, limiting its practical application.

Eco-friendly two-dimensional (2D) nanolubricants have emerged as promising candidates for advanced functional materials. However, challenges such as poor dispersion stability and weak interfacial adhesion limit their widespread application. Herein, we developed a method to tailor WS nanosheets functionalized with γ-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (γ-APS), enhancing their interaction with phosphate ester groups from di(2-ethylhexyl) phosphate (DEPS), which leads to the creation of gel-like WS-NH-DEPS additives with excellent dispersive and tribological properties in polyalphaolefin (PAO6).

A three-component Minisci reaction based on radical polarity inversion and mediated by a trifluoromethyl radical is reported in this work. Under transition metal-free conditions, the electrophilic trifluoromethyl radical was added to an electron-rich alkene, generating a nucleophilic alkyl radical, which underwent a Minisci reaction with various electron-deficient N-heteroarenes. This protocol is easily executed using CFSONa as the trifluoromethyl radical source under air- and moisture-free conditions, providing a versatile way to obtain trifluoromethyl-containing N-heteroarenes.

Background: Receptor-interacting protein kinase-1 (RIPK1), a regulator of necroptosis, is involved in acute brain injury and acute lung injury (ALI). Here, serum RIPK1 levels were measured after severe traumatic brain injury (sTBI), with an endeavor to unveil its prognostic implications and mediation effects of ALI.

Methods: In this multicenter prospective study, serum RIPK1 levels were gauged in 100 healthy individuals and 158 sTBI patients in need of decompressive craniectomy for brain herniation.

Co adatoms deposited on a single MgO layer have been reported to exhibit a record-high zero-field splitting of 58 meV (467.8 cm). However, their effective blocking energy barrier is almost zero considering the much slower spin relaxation time on the order of 10 s at 0.

Background: Severe traumatic brain injury (sTBI) is frequently complicated with acute lung injury (ALI). Galectin3 poses a pivotal role in acute brain injury and non-traumatic ALI. Here, serum galectin3 was quantified with an intent to unravel its prognostic significance and mediation effects of ALI in humans with sTBI.

Ultrafine particles (UFPs) under 100 nm pose significant health risks inadequately addressed by traditional mass-based metrics. The WHO emphasizes particle number concentration (PNC) for assessing UFP exposure, but large-scale evaluations remain scarce. In this study, we developed a stacking-based machine learning framework integrating data-driven and physical-chemical models for a national-scale UFP exposure assessment at 1 km spatial and 1-hour temporal resolutions, leveraging long-term standardized PNC measurements in Switzerland.

Bladder cancer (BC) is the most prevalent malignancy of the urinary tract and ranks among the most common tumors globally due to its high recurrence and fatality rates. Evidence suggests that long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) may serve as novel biomarkers for cancer therapy. The study aimed to investigate the functions of lncRNA fetal-lethal non-coding developmental regulatory RNA (FENDRR) in regulating malignant phenotypes of BC cell lines (T24 and RT-4) and the underlying mechanism.

Bladder cancer (BCa) is a prevalent urogenital malignancy, imposing a significant burden on health-care systems worldwide. Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) are important regulators of carcinogenesis and affect BCa progression. In this study, the influence of lncRNA LINC00115 on malignant behavior of BCa cells were explored.

Forecasting concentrations of PM is important due to its known impacts on public health and environment. However, PM concentrations can vary significantly over short distances and time, which can be influenced by local emissions and short-term weather patterns. This spatiotemporal variability makes accurate PM forecasting an inherently complex and challenging task.

Steel fiber textile, which is composed of steel fibers and glass fibers, has a support layer impregnated with hot melt adhesive (HMA). During long-term service, the bonding force between the steel fiber/HMA system interfaces is poor. In order to improve the bond strength and durability of the interface, this paper introduced sandblasting, acid-etching, and phosphating treatments on the surface of the steel fibers.
