Bisphenol F (BPF), a widely used substitute for bisphenol A (BPA), has raised growing concerns due to its potential metabolic toxicity. Recent studies suggest that BPF exposure is associated with lipid accumulation and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD)-like changes, however, the underlying mechanisms remain poorly understood. This study was performed to investigate the BPF-induced NAFLD-like changes through the lipid degradative pathway, which via an unrecognized defect of lipophagy mediated by Adipose Triglyceride Lipase (ATGL)-Sirtuin 1 (SIRT1)-Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor α (PPARα) signaling axis.

Fluorescence microscopy represents a highly effective tool for examining the microscopic world. Modern microscopic techniques provide advanced temporal and spatial resolutions, while placing high demands on the photostability of fluorophores. Although it is well-known that the photostability of fluorophores is sensitive to their environment, the influence of nearby residues on the photostability of organic fluorophores attached to proteins is not yet fully understood.

The licensed adjuvanted recombinant glycoprotein E (gE) subunit vaccine (HZ/su) is highly effective against herpes zoster (HZ). This randomised, active-controlled, non-inferiority trial (ChiCTR2300079076) compared the immunogenicity and safety of a novel gE-Fc fusion protein vaccine candidate (LZ901) with HZ/su in 300 healthy adults aged ≥50 years without prior HZ vaccination in Wuxi, China. Participants received either two doses of LZ901 (30-day interval; n = 151) or HZ/su (60-day interval; n = 149).

A cosine function that could better fit the geometric morphology was selected to construct the asperity, the elastic phase was controlled by the Hertz contact theory, the elastoplastic transition phase was corrected by the hyperbolic tangent function, and the fully plastic phase was improved by the projected area theory. The model broke through the limitations of the spherical assumption and was able to capture the stress concentration and plastic flow phenomena.

Background: Previous studies indicate a potential link between elevated serum lipid levels and an increased risk of cerebral microbleeds (CMBs). Since multiple CMBs can elevate the risk of future intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH), it is important to explore the relationship between lipid profiles and CMBs in ICH patients. However, data on this specific correlation in ICH populations are currently limited.

The quantum chemical cluster approach has been performed to investigate the mechanism of the QueG-catalyzed reaction. Our calculations reveal a nucleophilic attack mechanism involving the formation of an intermediate with an unusual organometallic Co-C bond.

However, whether GA is a sufficiently accurate marker to screen GDM in a general population of pregnant women remains unclear. The current study aimed to investigate the role of GA in screening GDM in Chinese pregnant women.

Many healthcare institutions face a shortage of well-trained ophthalmologists for conducting screenings. Hence, we have developed the Deep Learning Infant Fundus Quality Feedback System (DLIF-QFS) to assess the overall quality of infant retinal photographs and detect common operational errors to support ROP screening and diagnosis.

To determine if the follicular fluid (FF) cytokine phenotype reflects underlying etiologies for infertility and oocyte/embryo quality. The study subjects comprised infertile women with diminished ovarian reserve (DOR, n = 42), tubal factor infertility (TFI, n = 72), and repeated implantation failures (RIF, n = 15). Controls were women with male factor infertility (MFI, n = 30).

Self-labeling protein tags are widely used in advanced bioimaging where dyes with high-photon budgets outperform their fluorescent protein counterparts. Further increasing the emitted photon numbers of dye-tag systems is actively pursued by both new fluorophore chemistry and protein engineering. By scrutinizing the protein microenvironment of fluorophores, here we propose that proximal thioether groups negatively affect the photostability of the dye-tag system.

Cisplatin, a widely used chemotherapeutic agent, induces nephrotoxicity with approximately 30 % of patients developing acute kidney injury (AKI). Necroptosis, a regulated cell death pathway driven by RIPK1/RIPK3/MLKL activation, plays a pivotal role in cisplatin-induced AKI, yet effective therapeutic strategies targeting this pathway remain limited. Here, we demonstrate that human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (huc-MSCs) alleviate cisplatin-induced AKI by suppressing necroptosis through targeting transforming growth factor-β-activated kinase 1 (TAK1).

This study examines the relationship between depression and PTSD(Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) in cancer patients, focusing on the sequential mediation of hope and perceived social support. A cross-sectional study was conducted at oncology wards in an Anhui tertiary hospital between February-August 2024.

However, traditional pathogen detection methods, such as the polymerase chain reaction (PCR), have drawbacks, including complex procedures and long processing times. Raman spectroscopy provides valuable biomolecular feature information and, when combined with deep learning, enables the detection of pathogens.

Objective: To investigate the safety and efficacy of avatrombopag(AVA) combined with rhIL-11 in treating thrombocytopenia induced by chemotherapy in acute myeloid leukemia.
Methods: The clinical information of 8 patients in the real world who received avatrombopag combined with rhIL-11 in cancer treatment-induced thrombocytopenia(CTIT) after AML chemotherapy were retrospectively analyzed, and at the same time, 8 patients who received rhIL-11 only in CTIT after AML chemotherapy served as the control group, A preliminary observation was to summarize and compare the therapeutic efficacy and adverse effects between the two groups.
Results: D3 and D7 platelet counts were not significantly different between the observation group and the control group after treatment.
Purpose: We aimed to compare the efficacy and safety of fosaprepitant plus triple therapy versus triple therapy alone, in terms of both routine and delayed regimen, in preventing chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) in patients receiving three-day cisplatin-based treatment.
Methods: In a prospective randomized controlled trial, patients undergoing three-day cisplatin-based chemotherapy (25mg/m/day) received fosaprepitant plus triple therapy or triple therapy alone on day 1 (routine regimen). For the evaluation of the delayed regimen, the administration of fosaprepitant and/or olanzapine was delayed for 1 day.

Methods: Data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) were analyzed using multivariable logistic regression and negative binomial regression to assess the effects of low-frequency, speech-frequency, and high-frequency ARHL on depression, with subgroup analyses by race/ethnicity.
