Introduction: The presence of a posterior malleolar (PM) fragment has a negative prognostic impact in ankle fractures. Percutaneous anterior to posterior screw fixation has been advocated for the treatment of ankle fractures involving the posterior malleolus and satisfactory results were demonstrated in several studies. The aim of this retrospective study was to evaluate the clinical effect of percutaneous anterior to posterior screw fixation via lateral malleolus incision window approach (APSF-LMA) for the treatment of posterior malleolus fracture (PMF) and present outcomes of patients with type 4 of Bartoníček-Rammelt classification in comparison to using the dorsiflexion ankle anterior posterior screw fixation (APSF-DA) and posterior plate fixation through posterolateral approach (PPF-PLA).

Background: Gallbladder and biliary tract cancer (GBTC) is a highly aggressive malignant tumor with a high fatality rate. The global incidence and mortality of GBTC continue to increase, presenting a significant challenge to public health. Strategies for preventing and controlling GBTC in Brazil, Russian Federation, India, China and South Africa (BRICS) countries offer valuable lessons for other developing nations.

Mitochondrial metabolism plays an important role in promoting cancer development, making mitochondria a novel promising target for cancer therapy. Current mitochondria-targeted fluorescent agents can specifically accumulate in the mitochondria of cancer cells and can be applied for cancer imaging and therapy. However, their clinical application is still limited due to the poor solubility and lower tumor-specific distribution.

The patients received sintilimab (200 mg) plus IBI305 (7.5 mg/kg) and HAIC (FOLFOX for 23 h) and were treated every 3 weeks.

Additionally, hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy (HAIC) can improve the prognosis of patients with advanced liver cancer. This real-world study aimed to evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of HAIC combined with molecular targeted therapy and immunotherapy in the treatment of primary unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (uHCC).

In three datasets, we screened 88 epigenetic-dysregulated PCGs (epi-PCGs) , which were significantly associated with HCC survival and could cluster HCC into three molecular subtypes. These subtypes were associated with prognosis, immunomodulatory alterations, and response to different treatment strategies.

Background: Liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC) is the most common primary liver cancer and the main cause of death in patients with cirrhosis. LRP1B is found to involve in a variety of cancers, but the association of LRP1B mutation with tumor mutation burden (TMB) and prognosis of LIHC is rarely studied.
Methods And Results: Herein, we analyzed the somatic mutation data of 364 LIHC patients from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and found that LRP1B showed elevated mutation rate.

Background: Unlike apoptosis, necroptosis is a tightly regulated form of programmed cell death (PCD) that occurs in a caspase-independent manner and is mainly triggered by receptor-interacting serine/threonine-protein kinases RIPK1 and RIPK3 and the RIPK3 substrate mixed-lineage kinase domain-like protein (MLKL). A growing body of evidence has documented that necroptosis, as a novel therapeutic strategy to overcome apoptosis resistance, has potential pro- or anti-tumoral effects in tumorigenesis, metastasis, and immunosurveillance. However, comprehensive multi-omics studies on regulators of necroptosis from a pan-cancer perspective are lacking.

Disturbances, here defined as events that directly alter microbial community composition, are commonly studied in host-associated and engineered systems. In spite of global change both altering environmental averages and increasing extreme events, there has been relatively little research into the causes, persistence and population-level impacts of disturbance in the dynamic coastal ocean. Here, we utilize 3 years of observations from a coastal time series to identify disturbances based on the largest week-over-week changes in the microbiome (i.

Settings And Design: Research article.
Objectives: Human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) have multi-lineage differentiation potential and have been widely researched in regenerative medicine. The purpose of this research was to explore whether Krüppel-like factor 4 (KLF4) can regulate the osteogenic differentiation of BMSCs.
Methods: We transfected human BMSCs with KLF4 overexpression plasmid and si-KLF4 to study the effects of KLF4.
Background: Recent research has shown that selected patients with initially unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) are able to achieve conversion to resectable disease through systemic or local therapy. Combination regimens comprised of drugs with different mechanisms of action have shown better outcomes than single-drug or single-approach-based treatments; however, to date, combination regimens investigated as part of conversion therapy strategies have been two drug combinations with reported issues of relatively low surgical conversion and objective response rates. In this study, we investigated the efficacy and safety of triple combination therapy with angiogenesis inhibitors, programmed death-1 inhibitors and hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy for surgical conversion of advanced HCC.

The sibling rivalry between HIF-1α and HIF-2α in hypoxic tumor growth and progression still remains to be resolved, including in HCC. In this study, we aimed to analyze the mechanism by which HIF-1α and HIF-2α balance the proliferative response of HCC cells to hypoxia.

However, with the integration of external networks and the vehicle networks, the vulnerabilities of the Controller Area Network (CAN) are exposed, allowing attackers to remotely invade vehicle networks through external devices. Based on the remote attack model for vulnerabilities of the in-vehicle CAN, we designed an efficient and safe identity authentication scheme based on Feige-Fiat-Shamir (FFS) zero-knowledge identification scheme with extremely high soundness.

Purpose: We retrospectively evaluated the efficacy and safety of apatinib as a first-line treatment for advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and explored whether drug-related hypertension (HTN) could predict its efficacy.
Patients And Methods: This retrospective analysis included patients with advanced HCC who received oral treatment with apatinib. We evaluated the effectiveness by overall survival (OS), progression-free survival (PFS), time to progression (TTP), and disease control rate (DCR), and assessed the safety of the drug based on the occurrence of adverse events.
Privacy protection in vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) has always been a research hotspot, especially the issue of vehicle authentication, which is critical to ensure the safe communication of vehicles. However, using the real identity in the process of authentication can easily result in a leak of the privacy information of the vehicles. Therefore, most existing privacy-protection schemes use anonymous authentication and require one-to-one communication between vehicles and the trusted authority (TA).

Methods: From November 2009 through December 2012, 18 patients underwent hemi-hepatectomy including the MHV for liver cancers. Post-hepatectomy, the volume of the congestive area, which appeared as a hyper-intense area on T2-weighted images and dysfunctional area, which appeared as a low intensity area on hepatobiliary phase images in the remnant liver was evaluated in all patients by gadoxetic acid disodium-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging.
