Cancer-associated mesenchymal stem cells (CA-MSCs) modulate the tumor microenvironment and promote tumor progression. The present study aimed to investigate the effects of CA-MSCs, CA-MSC-derived exosomes and CA-MSC exosome-derived microRNA (miR)-182 on non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) cell viability and invasiveness. CA-MSCs were established by treating MSCs with supernatant from NSCLC cells.

Objective: To explore whether hydrocortisone can improve the prognosis of patients with severe community-acquired pneumonia (sCAP) by Meta-analysis.
Methods: Randomized controlled trial (RCT) on hydrocortisone in the treatment of sCAP were extracted from the database including PubMed, Cochrane library, Web of Science, and Embase, and the search time was up to April 29, 2023. The patients in the standard treatment group received standard treatment such as antibiotics and supportive care, while those in the hydrocortisone group received hydrocortisone treatment on the basis of standard treatment.
Background And Objective: The vagus nerve (VN) is a critical component of the parasympathetic nervous system, playing a pivotal role in respiratory, cardiovascular, and digestive functions. Its management during thoracoscopic lung resections is essential to minimize postoperative complications such as cough and arrhythmias. This review aims to explore advancements in VN management strategies-including preservation, neuromonitoring, and nerve block-and their impact on surgical outcomes and long-term recovery.

However, conventional approaches lack the capacity for direct, rapid, and high-throughput differentiation of licorice mixtures and structurally analogous ingredients. Herein, we present a multisite-binding Color-BiLink () strategy for constructing the dual-mode responsive sensor array, formed by a quantifiable-recognized bifunctional -nitrophenylboronic acid-modified PEI () and four dyes through dynamic, reversible covalent, and electrostatic interactions.

High-throughput sequencing of the 16S rRNA gene was employed to analyze microbial diversity in older patients with multiple chronic diseases and polypharmacy, and the results were compared with a control group of older people without multiple chronic diseases and not undergoing polypharmacy. The study revealed distinct differences in gut microbiota composition between the two groups, with lower alpha-diversity observed in multidrug therapy group.

With the rise of Transformer in recent years, some researchers have combined Transformer with Reinforcement Learning (RL) to improve their ability to represent potential patterns in market data. However, existing methods mainly focus on capturing temporal dependencies, failing to effectively model the interactions among multiple variables, limiting sufficient decision-making information for policy learning in RL.

Methods: The study participants were stratified based on the quartiles of NHHR. Kaplan-Meier (KM) curves, multivariate Cox regression analysis, and restricted cubic spline (RCS) analysis were employed to determine whether the prognosis of CHF patients varied according to NHHR levels.
Ion ordering in the perovskite oxide plays a crucial role in governing the properties, such as magnetic behavior, electronic and ionic conductivity, and dielectric or ferroelectric characteristics. As the common anodes in solid oxide electrolysis cells (SOECs), perovskites exhibit remarkable high-temperature oxygen evolution reaction (OER) activity. However, the influence of ion ordering in the perovskite anode on the OER activity remains poorly understood.

However, peanut skin contains high-value proanthocyanidins (PCs). Therefore, the objective of this paper is to optimize the extraction conditions for PCs, thereby increasing the added value of peanut skins.

These vesicles carry rich biological information and regulatory potential, and have demonstrated significance in regulating cell behavior and tissue repair. Human periodontal ligament stem cells (hPDLSCs) are key to regenerating periodontal tissue, and their osteogenic differentiation ability directly influences the repair and reconstruction of periodontal bone tissue.

Herein, we modify the surface electronic structure of the PrCoO anode of the solid oxide electrolysis cells (SOECs) by the high-temperature dispersion of Ba species. Comprehensive structural and electrochemical characterizations, along with in situ characterizations and density functional theory calculations, reveal that Ba dispersion significantly enhances the surface d-p orbital hybridization between Co and O atoms and thus weakens Co-O bond covalency, facilitating oxygen vacancy formation and oxygen ion mobility.

Here, we connected glycolytic metabolism induced by the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) ligand amphiregulin (AREG) to histone lactylation and changes in gene expression that promote chronic neuropathic pain. In both male and female mice subjected to peripheral nerve injury, the mRNA and protein abundance of AREG and its receptor EGFR was increased in dorsal root ganglia (DRGs).

Clinical observations linking KH Domain Containing 3 (KHDC3) mutations to complete hydatidiform mole (CHM) suggest a potentially unforeseen role for KHDC3 in early embryonic development. Single-cell transcriptome analysis of early embryos revealed notable heterogeneity in KHDC3 expression levels from the 8-cell to blastocyst stage.

The peripheral sensory nervous system (PNS) has been widely recognized for its role in the collection, processing, and transmission of sensory information, including thermal, mechanical, chemical, and proprioceptive stimuli. In recent years, there has been a growing scholarly interest in the PNS attributable to its multiple physiological and pathophysiological non-sensory roles in the organs it innervates. The PNS exerts regulatory functions within the organs it innervates through direct interactions with local cells or through microbe-nerve-cell interactions that differ from the traditional feedback regulatory modes used by the hormonal and sensory brain-sympathetic/parasympathetic systems.

Using four waves of data from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS), we employ the difference-in-differences (DID) method, along with Logit, Oprobit, and OLS models. The findings show that HCBCS boosts economic support from offspring to older adults but reduces emotional and caregiving support, indicating HCBCS has both supplementary and substitutive effects.
