Design and validation of nurses' knowledge, attitude and practice questionnaire for discharge planning of stroke patients.

Objective: The aim of this study was to design a national and culturally appropriate questionnaire to assess the nurses' knowledge, attitude and practice (KAP) for discharge planning of stroke patients and to test the reliability and validity of this questionnaire.

Methods: This questionnaire was developed using domestic and international literature and combining the KAP theory. It covered eight aspects of basic knowledge, relevant knowledge, psychological cognition, emotional tendency, intentional behavior, assessment, implementation and evaluation of discharge planning for stroke patients.

A weakly-supervised oriented object detector : Knowledge-based dropblock and unified regression network.

Object detection in remote sensing images (RSIs) is facilitated by oriented bounding boxes, yet rotated boxes (RBoxes) are typically more labor-intensive than horizontal boxes (HBoxes). Consequently, there is a tendency in most research to explore HBox-based weakly-supervised detectors with self-supervised constraints on spatial transformations. However, such weakly-supervised networks for HBoxes tend to focus on the most discriminative parts of objects, which can adversely affect the network's location accuracy.

The life expectancy of most chronic myeloid leukaemia (CML) patients is nearly comparable to that of the general population owing to the application of tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs). A retrospective study from 11 institutions was performed in 139 CML patients with secondary malignancies.

Background: The objectives of this study were to analyze differences in deep vein thrombosis (DVT) incidence in both lower extremities before operation and blood coagulation function at admission in younger and older adults with hip fracture and to guide DVT prevention in these patients.

Materials And Methods: The 505 hip fracture patients enrolled in this research were sorted into an older adult (≥60 years) group (424 cases) and a younger adult group (81 cases) based on age. Preoperative DVT incidence in both lower extremities was analyzed.

The ERAS nursing care strategy for patients undergoing transsphenoidal endoscopic pituitary tumor resection: A randomized blinded controlled trial.

Introduction: Transsphenoidal endoscopic pituitary (TEP) tumor resection is performed through the nose via the sphenoid sinus to remove tumors from the pituitary gland. Also, enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) was adapted to reduce physical and physiological traumatic stress response of surgical patients.

Methods: A total of 174 patients who underwent TEP tumor resection in our department from August 2021 to June 2022 were randomly divided into non-ERAS group and ERAS group.

Effects of FAP+ fibroblasts on cell proliferation migration and immunoregulation of esophageal squamous carcinoma cells through the CXCL12/CXCR4 axis.

Cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) secrete and synthesize fibroblast activation protein (FAP), which could promote proliferation and immunosuppression of multiple cancers including esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). CXCL12/CXCR4 signaling could be revitalized by CAFs in cancer cells. Nevertheless, the significance of this interaction in ESCC has yet to be elucidated.

Background: Incidence of stroke is increasing annually in China, the readmission rate of patients with stroke remains high.

Methods: In total, 441 patients were enrolled in this study. We described the incidence of stroke readmissions.

Background: Several studies have demonstrated that systemic immune inflammation index (SII) has a positive relationship with hepatic steatosis. However, it is lack of system evidence for the correlation between SII and hepatic fibrosis. The objective of this study was to evaluate the relationships between SII and hepatic steatosis or hepatic fibrosis.

Background: Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) is a malignant condition in humans. Anoikis-related genes (ARGs) are crucial to cancer progression. Therefore, more studies on the relationship between ARGs and ESCC are warranted.

Background: Palliative care is mainly used to improve the quality of life of patients with chronic diseases by addressing their medical conditions and psychological problems. End-stage Parkinson's disease (PD) is also a progressive disease like cancer and could be managed by palliative care. This study was conducted at a single center in China and aimed to compare the quality of nurse-led palliative care with standard medical care during six months in 405 patients with Parkinson's disease (PPD) and their caregivers using the Chinese version of the 39-item Parkinson's Disease Questionnaire (PDQ-39) and the Chinese Zarit Burden Interview (ZBI) scale.

Materials And Methods: This study included 243 consecutive men who underwent 3-Tesla magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and ultrasound-guided transrectal biopsy from January 2020 and April 2022 which is divided into a training cohort of 170 patients and a separate testing cohort of 73 patients. T2WI and DWI images were manually segmented for PI-RADS 3 lesions for the mean ADC and radiomic analysis.

Simultaneous removal of Cr(Ⅵ) and tetracycline from wastewater by dielectric barrier discharge plasma coupled with TiO/rGO/CuO composites: Performance and mechanism.

In this study, dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma combined with titanium dioxide/reduced graphene oxide/copper oxide (TiO/rGO/CuO) composites for simultaneous removal of hexavalent chromium (Cr(Ⅵ)) and tetracycline (TC) from wastewater were explored systematically. The TiO/rGO/CuO composites were successfully prepared to improve the specific surface area and charge carrier separation rate. When Cr(Ⅵ) and TC coexist, the two pollutants have better removal efficiency without changing the initial pH.

Diagnosis of Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma by High-Performance Serum Metabolic Fingerprints: A Retrospective Study.

Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) is a highly prevalent and aggressive malignancy, and timely diagnosis of ESCC contributes to an increased cancer survival rate. However, current detection methods for ESCC mainly rely on endoscopic examination, limited by a relatively low participation rate. Herein, ferric-particle-enhanced laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry (FPELDI MS) is utilized to record the serum metabolic fingerprints (SMFs) from a retrospective cohort (523 non-ESCC participants and 462 ESCC patients) to build diagnostic models toward ESCC.

MMT: Cross Domain Few-Shot Learning via Meta-Memory Transfer.

Few-shot learning aims to recognize novel categories solely relying on a few labeled samples, with existing few-shot methods primarily focusing on the categories sampled from the same distribution. Nevertheless, this assumption cannot always be ensured, and the actual domain shift problem significantly reduces the performance of few-shot learning. To remedy this problem, we investigate an interesting and challenging cross-domain few-shot learning task, where the training and testing tasks employ different domains.

The translocation t(8;9) produces the fusion gene PCM1-JAK2, resulting in the continuous activation of the JAK2 tyrosine kinase. Myelodysplastic/myeloproliferative neoplasms are the most common disease with t(8;9)/PCM1-JAK2. Individuals with this abnormality have similar features, and JAK2 kinase inhibitor (ruxolitinib) is an effective treatment of the condition.

The prolyl hydroxylation of hypoxia-inducible factor 1α (HIF-1α) mediated by the EGLN-pVHL pathway represents a classic signalling mechanism that mediates cellular adaptation under hypoxia. Here we identify RIPK1, a known regulator of cell death mediated by tumour necrosis factor receptor 1 (TNFR1), as a target of EGLN1-pVHL. Prolyl hydroxylation of RIPK1 mediated by EGLN1 promotes the binding of RIPK1 with pVHL to suppress its activation under normoxic conditions.

Tailless and hypoxia inducible factor-2α cooperate to sustain proangiogenic states of retinal astrocytes in neonatal mice.

Tailless (TLX, an orphan nuclear receptor) and hypoxia inducible factor-2α (HIF2α) are both essential for retinal astrocyte and vascular development. Tlx-/- mutation and astrocyte specific Hif2α disruption in Hif2αf/f/GFAPCre mice are known to cause defective astrocyte development and block vascular development in neonatal retinas. Here we report that TLX and HIF2α support retinal angiogenesis by cooperatively maintaining retinal astrocytes in their proangiogenic states.
