Clinical evidence has associated H1N1 influenza with liver impairment, yet the underlying mechanisms remain poorly understood. Here, we investigated H1N1-induced liver damage and its potential mechanisms using a BALB/c mouse infection model. Pathological examination and serum aspartate transaminase (AST) and alanine transaminase (ALT) were assessed.

Recently, the "chocolate chip sign" around the midbrain has been proposed as a potential imaging marker for hHTRA1-CSVD. However, the diagnostic value of similar findings around the pons remains unclear.

The taxonomic position of strains CFSA2021A14 and CFSA2021A84, isolated from cereal-based infant noodles in China, was investigated. Phenotypic and genotypic analyses identified both strains as novel subspecies of Cronobacter dublinensis, with dulcitol utilization attributed to the presence of the gatYZABCD gene cluster.

This condition is marked by neuronal apoptosis and glial activation. Müller glia are retinal cells highly susceptible to diabetic metabolic stress that may undergo ferroptosis, an iron-dependent form of regulated cell death driven by lipid peroxidation.

Men with CP are at a significantly greater risk of developing anxiety and depression compared to healthy controls. Chinese Herbal Medicine (CHM) provides a holistic approach by simultaneously targeting inflammation, pelvic microcirculation, and neuropsychiatric pathways, which aligns with the multifactorial nature of CP.

Therefore, it is necessary to develop a multifunctional sensing material that can efficiently detect and remove Gsp. Herein, a new strategy based on FeO coated with Zr/Eu metal-organic framework (MOF) is proposed for highly selective detection and rapid removal of Gsp.

Methods: Animal models of ICH and cellular models of SBI were established. Subsequently, gradient concentrations of LCD were administered at both the animal and cellular/molecular levels.
Introduction: Renal anemia is one of the most common complications in dialysis patients. The shortened red blood cell (RBC) lifespan is an important mechanism of renal anemia. This study aims to investigate the RBC lifespan and its influencing factors in anemic dialysis patients.

Purpose: To assess the safety and efficacy of two SCOLI designs (Yang's I/II) for astigmatism correction in manual cataract surgery and define incision size-astigmatism relationships.
Methods: A total of 72 eyes from 64 cataract patients who accept manual cataract extraction surgery via a SCOLI technique. The two different types of incision: Yang's I and II incisions were applied in this study.

Kynurenine monooxygenase, a vital rate-limiting enzyme in the kynurenine pathway metabolic branch, has shown promise as a drug target for treating human neurodegenerative diseases. However, the role of kynurenine monooxygenase in plant pathogens and its potential as a molecular target have received limited attention. In this study, we identified a novel kynurenine monooxygenase gene, , in .

However, whether Yiqi Huoxue Huatan granule has a therapeutic effect on patients with stable COPD complicated with chronic respiratory failure remain unclear.
Aim Of The Study: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Yiqi Huoxue Huatan granule in treating this population.
Background: Diabetic retinal neuropathy (DRN) leads to significant visual impairment; however, no existing animal model fully replicates its neural alterations, and inconsistent induction protocols with high mortality rates hinder long-term investigations.
Methods: Adult male rabbits were randomly assigned to four experimental groups, each receiving a single intravenous injection of varying doses of alloxan and one control group. The safety and efficacy of alloxan in inducing diabetes were evaluated to determine the optimal dose.
Environmental chemicals are known risk factors for adverse pregnancy outcomes. However, the effects of environmentally relevant concentrations of chemical mixtures are less studied. This study investigated the effects of a mixture containing 23 chemicals reported in blood samples of Nunavik pregnant women, termed the Nunavik Chemical Mixture (NCM), on embryo development using human embryonic stem cells (hESCs).

Various source attribution approaches and methods have been applied worldwide. This review aims to provide an overview of available studies that estimate the attribution of foodborne illnesses globally, regionally, and nationally, compiled by pathogen and region.

However, the mechanisms by which CHIKV induces gastrointestinal diseases remain largely unexplored. This study investigated the characteristics of fecal and gut microbiota, gut metabolites, and gut immunity post-infection using multi-omics analysis.

Plastic waste can be fragmented into nanoplastics (NPs). Despite their widespread presence in the environment and even within the human body, the long-term risks of NPs to plants, animals, and humans remain poorly understood.

Bisquinoline acid was selected as the organic ligand to construct the Eu-BCA MOF with europium nitrate, then the quinoline-N in the ligand of MOFs was used to participate in the construction of the SiO molecularly imprinted layer to form the Eu-BCA@SiO-MIP, which can respond quickly to trace Zen in the range of 0-1.56 × 10 mol L, and the detection limit is as low as 1.

The Al/W composite layer was fabricated on the surface of the aluminum alloy using laser alloying technology to enhance the current-carrying wear resistance. Additionally, the current-carrying wear behaviors of the Al/W composite layer and the aluminum alloy substrate were investigated under different currents. The results indicate that the presence of hard phases such as W and AlW in the composite layer significantly enhanced the wear resistance of the material.

We evaluated temporal and genetic relationships between 176 food-liking-traits and cardio-metabolic diseases using data from the UK Biobank (N = 182,087) for observational analyses and summary-level GWAS data from FinnGen and other consortia (N = 406,565-977,323) for genetic analyses. Integrating observational and genetic results, we identified two detrimental food-liking-traits (bacon and diet-fizzy-drinks) and three protective food-liking-traits (broccoli, pizza, and lentils/beans). These food-liking-traits are associated with habitual food intake and influence cardio-metabolic proteins and biological processes.

DNA damage and repair (DDR) gene can mitigate platinum-induced DNA damage and induce resistance to platinum agents. The status of DDR gene in advanced driver gene wild-type NSCLC and their role in determining response and prognosis to platinum-based chemotherapy need to be investigated.
