The primary prevention of stroke high-risk groups is contingent upon health behavior intervention, and the key to such interventions is health behavioral decision-making. The present study aims to explore the potential classification of the health behavior decision-making of high-risk stroke groups using latent profile analysis (LPA) and the key influencing factors of the LPA classes. A cross-sectional study was conducted from January to May 2023 with 264 high-risk individuals of stroke in Henan Province, China.

The efficacy of microbial fermented feeds (FF) is highly dependent on microbial composition, underscoring the need for locally sourced, cost-effective formulations to advance sustainable livestock production. In this study, bacteria from corn silage (CSB) were screened for the preparation of solid-state fermented feed (SFF). In addition, for the purpose of comparison, purchased marketed fermentation bacteria (PMB) for SFF were also tested using the same methodology.

Hyperlipidemia, characterized by dysregulated lipid metabolism, is a major risk factor for cardiovascular diseases and is often accompanied by oxidative stress. This study aimed to investigated the protective effects and underlying mechanisms of Marein, a primary active flavonoid from Coreopsis tinctoria, in an HO-induced oxidative stress model using HepG2 cells. HepG2 cells was exposed to HO to induce oxidative stress and lipid accumulation, followed by Marein intervention.

Background: This study was performed to characterize the relationship of various laboratory test indicators with clinical information and Preeclampsia (PE) development. Then, prediction models for early-onset preeclampsia (EOPE), late-onset preeclampsia (LOPE), and preterm preeclampsia (Preterm PE) were developed using maternal characteristics and laboratory data.

Methods: Between January 2019 and December 2021, we retrospectively recruited 144 EOPE, 363 LOPE, 231 Preterm PE, and 1458 healthy participants from six hospitals.

Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is the most common hereditary cardiovascular disease. In general, obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HOCM) is more closely related to severe clinical symptoms and adverse clinical outcomes. Therefore, it is necessary to explore the possible causes of HOCM, which may help physicians better understand the disease and effectively control and manage the progression of the disease.

The rapid development of China's 5G 'Internet Plus' industry has led to increasing use of the Internet to provide healthcare services. Internet-based services in China are already widely used to prevent, identify, monitor, and manage mental disorders, but few of these services have been formally evaluated. To provide a clear baseline of this rapidly evolving field, we searched articles published before December 31, 2022, about internet-based interventions and surveys for mental health-related conditions in China in five international databases (Web of Science, PubMed, PsycINFO, Embase, and Cochrane Library) and four Chinese databases (CNKI, SinoMed, VIP, and WanFang).

The acute activation of serotonin 1 A (5-HT) receptors appears to disrupt maternal behavior in rats; however, the underlying neuroanatomical mechanisms remain poorly understood. We employed two approaches to investigate the role of 5-HT receptors in maternal behavior to address this knowledge gap. First, we used real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) to analyze 5-HT receptor mRNA expression in female rats at different reproductive stages.

Phthalic acid esters (PAEs) are widely used due to their advantageous properties, which enhance the durability, flexibility, and transparency of plastic products. Nanomaterials are also commonly used in plastic additives and agricultural fertilizers. However, both are easy to fall off, diffuse, and release into the environment during production, use, and disposal.

Meiju Oral Liquid (MOL), a representative medicinal formula in China, stems from the traditional use of specific Chinese medicinal herbs known for their anti-fatigue properties, including rose, jujube, chicory, and wolfberry. While these individual herbs have been recognized for their benefits, the formulation of MOL itself has not been extensively studied. This study was designed to evaluate the potential anti-fatigue effects of MOL, prepared from these natural herbs, and to explore its underlying mechanisms.

Background: To investigate whether the noninvasive preimplantation genetic testing (niPGT) complement conventional preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) in the embryos for aneuploidy.

Results: 40 spent culture medium (SCM) samples from routine embryo culture were collected, and half of each SCM (10 µL) sample was used for whole genome amplification, while the other half was stored at -80 °C for 3-6 months. Thirty-six out of 40 fresh SCM samples were successfully amplified and sequenced.

Article Synopsis
  • The article critiques Li et al.'s study on the genetic links between viral infections and colorectal cancer, praising its significant findings but highlighting methodological flaws.
  • Key issues include concerns over their instrumental variable selection process, handling of pleiotropy, and some biologically implausible conclusions drawn from the data.
  • The article advocates for more thorough sensitivity analyses, clearer transparency in research methods, and a deeper understanding of the biological mechanisms involved in the observed associations.
