Background: The link between exposure to environmental hazards and thyroid function has been relatively well established. However, evidence on environmental exposure to volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and thyroid function in the general population remains unclear.
Objectives: To assess the impact of individual and joint effects of VOCs exposure on thyroid function in a representative sample of U.
We develop pyruvate with good biocompatibility and mitochondria-targeting ability as a copper ionophore (pyruvate-Cu). To further address its drawbacks, traceable nanoparticles are constructed to deliver pyruvate-Cu for triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) treatment. and results demonstrate that this work provides an efficient platform for enhanced TNBC therapy.

Background: Bladder cancer (BCa) with variant histology (VH) is aggressive, leading to poor prognosis and resistance to neoadjuvant treatment (NAT). Preoperative identification of VH may be important for informing treatment options.
Purpose: To develop and validate a multiparametric MRI-based ensemble model to identify VH in BCa and explore its association with disease-free survival (DFS) and NAT response.

NMDA receptors (NMDARs) are widely distributed throughout the central nervous system (CNS) and play pivotal roles in normal physiological processes such as synaptic plasticity, learning, and memory. Substantial evidence indicates that NMDAR dysfunction, particularly excessive calcium influx, critically contributes to the pathogenesis of major neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer's disease (AD), Parkinson's disease (PD), Huntington's disease (HD), and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Dysregulated glutamatergic signaling synergizes with pathological protein aggregation (e.

Thus, self-organizing maps (SOM) and positive matrix factorization (PMF) were employed in present work to decipher source of selected PTE (Li, V, Mn, Cr, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Ba, Pb, U, Sr) in Ulansuhai Lake basin (Inner Mongolia, China). On this basis, multi-isotopic tracers (δD/δO, Sr/Sr, δS/δO, Rn) were used to indicate the geochemical processes related to PTE enrichment and fate.

The precise homeostatic balance of H2AK119ub1 is maintained through antagonistic coordination between polycomb repressive complex 1 and specialized deubiquitinases, forming a precise equilibrium that is critical for the regulation of gene expression. Dysregulation of H2AK119ub1 has been mechanistically linked to multiple human pathologies, indicating that its regulatory axis is a promising therapeutic target.

Small interfering RNA (siRNA) against tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) is a valuable therapeutic agent for hepatic inflammation. However, lipid nanoparticles (LNPs), the most clinically advanced vectors for delivering siRNA to the liver, have no therapeutic effect on diseases themselves. Here, therapeutic L-LNPs are developed by replacing the helper lipid in Onpattro with 1,2-dilauryl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine (DLPC).

This study presents an integrated framework-combining stable isotope tracing, PMF modeling, and EWQI-to examine spatio-temporal variations in water quality across China's Ulansuhai Lake basin. Integrated analysis of temporal and spatial sample ratios from 198 samples collected in April, July, and October 2023 revealed that 95 % of groundwater, 53 % of river water, and 15 % of lake water exceeded the EWQI drinking-water threshold (EWQI ≥100).

Recently, BMSC-derived exosomes (Exo) based cell-free bone regeneration offer several distinct advantages over BMSCs themselves in the repair of damaged tissue, including enhanced repair ability and superior biocompatibility, which can be further augmented under 3D-cultured conditions. However, their therapeutic efficacy for bone regeneration is significantly constrained by hypoxic bone microenvironment and short retention time in bone defect region.

Emerging evidence suggests that priming intestinal stem cells (ISCs) towards secretory progenitor cells is beneficial for maintaining gut homeostasis against inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). However, the mechanism driving such biased lineage commitment remains elusive. Here we show that MG53, also named as TRIM72, prompts ISCs to secretory lineages via upregulating peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor α (PPARα), thus maintaining intestinal epithelium integrity against noxious insults.

Methods: Mendelian randomization (MR) is a technique employed to explore causal connections between two phenotypes. In our research, bidirectional two-sample MR analyses were utilized to evaluate the causal connections between vitiligo and multiple autoimmune diseases (systemic lupus erythematosus, Graves' disease, inflammatory bowel disease, alopecia areata [AA], type 1 diabetes mellitus [T1MD], and rheumatoid arthritis [RA]).
: Vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) senescence exacerbates vascular diseases like atherosclerosis and hypertension. Angiotensin II (Ang II) is a strong inducer of VSMCs senescence, causing vascular damage, though its exact mechanism is unclear. Nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN), a NAD precursor, has gained attention for its anti-senescence potential, yet its role in inhibiting VSMCs senescence is not fully understood.

In this study, the spatial variability of LGD in a sandy-land lake group (Bahannao Lake Group Basin) was quantitatively estimated using the radon (Rn) mass balance model. The 5 lakes in the study area, with their various land use and hydrogeological conditions, were categorized into 3 ranges based on LGD rates: <20.

Methods: Patient data from the Endovascular Treatment for Acute Basilar Artery Occlusion (ATTENTION) randomized trial were analyzed for those with BAO who received EVT. Intraprocedural BP data were extracted, with collateral status assessed using the Basilar Artery on CT Angiography (BATMAN) score (BATMAN score ≥7 favorable collateral status, <7 unfavorable).

Introduction: Vitiligo is a prevalent depigmentation disorder. Due to the depigmentation and treatments, skin function of patients with vitiligo may be affected, manifested by changes in the stratum corneum (SC) hydration, sebum and elasticity. However, few researchers have paid attention to the skin condition of vitiligo after treatment.

Methods: We performed a post-hoc analysis of patients from the ATTENTION trial with available admission CTP data. CTP parameters evaluated included time to maximum (T) >6 s/8 s/10 s, relative cerebral blood flow (rCBF) <20%/30%/34%/38%/50%, Critical Area Perfusion Score (CAPS), and CTP-posterior circulation acute stroke prognosis early computed tomography score (CTP-pc-ASPECTS), pons-midbrain-thalamus (PMT) hypoperfusion.
To overcome the inherent limitations of 2D aerofluidic systems, we propose a novel strategy that combines traditional Chinese weaving technology with superhydrophobic metal wires to construct 3D underwater aerofluidic systems. In water, air is trapped between the femtosecond laser-structured superhydrophobic stainless steel wires and the surrounding water, creating a microscale channel for gas transport within the designed aerofluidic system. The Laplace pressure difference of bubbles across different circular regions woven with superhydrophobic wires can drive spontaneous gas transport along microscale connecting lines in 3D space.

The catalyst is the pivotal component in CO electroreduction systems for converting CO into valuable products.
