Recently, radioactive pollutants have garnered significant attention within the realms of environmental science and public safety, such as nuclear energy (, uranium), radiation therapy (, I), and earthquake monitoring (, radon), exerting multifaceted impacts on human health and ecosystems. Therefore, the development of accurate detection technologies for key radioactive elements is of paramount importance and is also an important guarantee for ensuring public safety and comprehensively promoting harmonious coexistence between humans and nature. Luminescent probes represent a class of detection methods for radioactive elements, characterized by high sensitivity, simplicity, and visualization.

Pancreatic cancer (PC) is associated with dismal clinical outcomes, largely due to the high prevalence of liver metastasis (LM) at diagnosis or post-resection. Despite its clinical significance, the molecular drivers of LM in PC remain poorly characterized, and few validated biomarkers or therapeutic targets are currently available. Our study identifies 7-dehydrocholesterol reductase (DHCR7), a terminal enzyme in cholesterol biosynthesis, as significantly upregulated in PC tissues and closely correlated with LM progression.

The 11-Methoxytabersonine (11-MT), a monoterpenoid-indole alkaloid isolated from the leaves of Melodinus henryi, has shown promising therapeutic potential against triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). This study aimed to evaluate the anti-tumor efficacy of 11-MT and to elucidate its underlying molecular mechanisms in the context of TNBC. The in vitro anti-cancer effects of 11-MT were assessed using Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8), colony formation assays, and flow cytometry.

Transposable elements (TEs) serve as important drivers mediating polyploidization events and phenotypic diversification in plant genomes. However, the dynamic changes in various TE subclasses post-polyploidization and their mechanisms of influencing phenotypic variation require further investigation. The allopolyploid species, originating from two diploid progenitors, provide an ideal model for studying TE dynamics following polyploidization.

With the increasing complexity of human-computer interaction scenarios, conventional digital human facial expression systems show notable limitations in handling multi-emotion co-occurrence, dynamic expression, and semantic responsiveness. This paper proposes a digital human system framework that integrates multimodal emotion recognition and compound facial expression generation. The system establishes a complete pipeline for real-time interaction and compound emotional expression, following a sequence of "speech semantic parsing-multimodal emotion recognition-Action Unit (AU)-level 3D facial expression control.

Background: Research on the microbial roles in urolithiasis primarily focuses on the intestinal microbiota. This study analyzed urine and fecal samples from three cohorts: healthy controls (Control), patients with urinary stones (US), and postoperative patients (PS). We conducted 16S rRNA sequencing analysis to evaluate the variations in microbial communities among these groups during urinary stone production and therapy processes.

This study aimed to evaluate and compare the efficacy and safety of endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS)-guided sclerotherapy versus conventional endoscopic sclerotherapy for esophagogastric varices (EGV). A total of 80 patients treated between January 2021 and December 2024 were retrospectively enrolled. Patients were divided into a control group (n = 42, conventional endoscopic sclerotherapy) and an observation group (n = 38, EUS-guided sclerotherapy).

Owing to the evolution of data-driven technologies, including the large language models, generative artificial intelligence, autonomous driving, and the internet of things requires advanced memory technology. However, conventional memory device structures and fabrication process have significant limitations for high-density integration. Herein, this study reports the monolithically-integrated 1-selector and 1-resistive (1S1R) synaptic memory in van der Waals (vdW) heterostructure, which overcomes the conventional limitations of device integration technologies.

Purpose: Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) and circular RNAs (circRNAs) in the retina play crucial roles in myopia; however, their regulatory mechanisms remain unclear. This study aimed to investigate significant genes and related signaling pathways associated with myopia by constructing and analyzing competitive endogenous RNA (ceRNA) networks within the retina.

Materials And Methods: We investigated the expression patterns of lncRNAs, circRNAs, microRNAs (miRNAs), and messenger RNAs (mRNAs) within the retina using a form-deprivation myopia mouse model to elucidate their regulatory mechanisms in myopia.

Glycoproteins have not been reported in the previous studies of American ginseng. This study focuses on developing an efficient method for the extraction of glycoproteins from American ginseng (GAG). Three choline chloride (ChCl)-based natural deep eutectic solvents (NADES) and three extraction techniques including microwave-, ultrasound-, and heating and stirring-assisted extraction were evaluated in the study.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Oligoasthenozoospermia (OA) is the main factor leading to male infertility. According to traditional Chinese medicine, ginseng and its derivatives can improve male sperm quality by nourishing the kidneys and replenishing qi. Ginsenosides have been recognized as the principal pharmacologically active constituents of Panax ginseng, and are generally categorized into highly polar and rare ginsenosides.

In turbulent flows, energy flux, the cornerstone of turbulence theory, refers to the transfer of kinetic energy across different scales of motion. The direction of net energy flux is prescribed by the dimensionality of the fluid system: Energy cascades to smaller scales in three-dimensional flows but to larger scales in two-dimensional (2D) flows. Manipulating energy flux is a formidable task because the energy at any scale is not localized in the physical space.

Native mass spectrometry is playing a central role in characterizing the noncovalent interactions of membrane proteins, enabling the discovery of lipids that regulate membrane protein function and modulate interactions with other molecules. The use of specialized charge-reducing detergents and/or molecular additives is critical to mitigate overactivation during native MS to facilitate proper analysis. Here, we present the design and synthesis of a new class of dual-headgroup detergents featuring two distinct hydrophilic moieties.

Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatohepatitis (MASH) emerges as an advanced stage of Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatotic Liver Disease, marked by significant liver damage characterized by fat accumulation, inflammation, hepatocyte injury, and progressive fibrosis. Epidermal Growth Factor-like repeat and Discoidin I-like domain-containing protein 3 (EDIL3), a protein containing epidermal growth factor-like repeats and discoidin I-like domains, interacts with membrane integrins to modulate inflammation, fibrosis, and vascular remodeling. However, the potential role of EDIL3 in the progression of liver fibrosis in MASH remains unclear.

Vanillin, the principal aromatic compound in vanilla, is primarily derived from mature pods of vanilla ( Andrews). Although the biosynthetic pathway of vanillin has been progressively elucidated, the specific key enzymes and transcription factors (TFs) governing vanillin biosynthesis require further comprehensive investigation via combining transcriptomic and metabolomic analysis. For this study, (higher vanillin producer) and (lower vanillin producer) were selected.

Deep learning models that integrate environmental characteristics provide a powerful means for high-precision water quality prediction; however, their black-box nature can limit interpretability and reliability. We proposed an interpretable Attention-Gated Recurrent Unit (AT-GRU) model that integrates water quality, meteorological, and hydrological data from the semi-arid Dahei River Basin, to improve prediction accuracy and transparency of results. The model achieved superior daily-scale prediction accuracy (average R = 0.
