In this study, we investigated the dynamic changes in muscle lipid content (MLC) deposition in the breast muscle of Jingyuan chickens at different stages (42-, 126-, and 180- days old) using metabolomics. The pH a*, and L* were significantly increased in the breast muscle of 126-day-old chickens, and MLC and b* were significantly increased in the breast muscle of 180-day-old chickens. A total of 4643 differentially expressed metabolites (DEMs) were identified, of which 10 decreased and 29 increased with age.

Therefore, in this study, a co-culture system was used to simulate the in vivo cellular microenvironment, aiming to reveal the interaction patterns between bovine SMCs and IMAs during the proliferation and differentiation stages. The results showed that, compared with SMCs cultured alone, the presence of IMAs in the co-culture system inhibited the expression of proliferation markers such as PCNA, CDK1, CDK2, CCNA2, and CCNE2 in SMCs.

Retinoic acid (RA), the active metabolite of vitamin A, plays an essential regulatory role in IMF development. To systematically investigate RA-mediated regulation of IMF formation in cattle, we established a concentration gradient of RA supplementation and employed a systematic screening approach to identify the optimal dosage for modulating bovine intramuscular adipocytes (IMAs) proliferation and differentiation.

Using survey data from major watermelon- and muskmelon-producing regions in Henan, Shandong, and Xinjiang, and employing Ordinary Least Squares (OLS), Propensity Score Matching (PSM), and the Logit model, this study examines the mechanisms through which digital technology influences FGPT. The findings reveal that the adoption of digital technology significantly reduces farmers' use of pesticides and fertilizers, with a particularly pronounced effect on pesticide reduction.

Terahertz absorbers play a crucial role in terahertz detectors, radar stealth, electromagnetic shielding, and other fields. However, the design and fabrication of flexible terahertz broadband absorbers remain a challenge at present. Here, we demonstrated a terahertz broadband absorber based on a copper composite film (CCF) consisting of a copper foam and an organic silica gel doped with FeO powder.

Multidrug-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae (MDR-KP) poses a significant challenge in global healthcare, underscoring the urgency for innovative therapeutic approaches. Phage therapy emerges as a promising strategy amidst rising antibiotic resistance, emphasizing the crucial need to identify and characterize effective phage resources for clinical use. In this study, we introduce a novel lytic phage, RCIP0100, distinguished by its classification into the Chaoyangvirus genus and Fjlabviridae family based on International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses (ICTV) criteria due to low genetic similarity to known phage families.

However, its role in bovine adipogenesis remains unknown. In this study, we aimed to clarify the role of SGK1 in bovine lipid accumulation and improvement of meat quality.

Klebsiella pneumoniae, a major clinical pathogen known for causing severe infections, is attracting heightened attention due to its escalating antibiotic resistance. Phages are emerging as a promising alternative to antibiotics; however, their specificity to particular hosts often restricts their use. In this study, a collection of 114 phages is obtained and subjected to analysis against 238 clinical K.

However, their contributions and dynamics during the transmission of resistance remain unclear. In this study, we selected IS as a representative transposable element to decipher the relationship between ISs and ARGs and to investigate their transfer features and transmission trends.

Background: One of the risk factors for esophageal adenocarcinoma is achalasia, an esophageal motility disorder that is typically treated surgically through laparotomy or laparoscopic surgery. The risk factors of gastric cardia cancer are also similar to esophageal adenocarcinoma due to the anatomical location of the gastric cardia close to the esophagus. There is currently no clinical evidence that achalching has a correlation with gastric cardia cancer.

The growth and development of bovine skeletal muscle and beef yield is closely intertwined. Our previous research found that forkhead box O1 (FOXO1) plays an important role in the regulation of beef muscle formation, but its specific mechanism is still unknown. In this study, we aimed to clarify the regulatory mechanism of FOXO1 in proliferation and differentiation of bovine skeletal muscle cells (BSMCs).

As a key component of Transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) pathway, Smad2 has many crucial roles in a variety of cellular processes, but it cannot bind DNA without complex formation with Smad4. In the present study, the molecular mechanism in the progress of myogenesis underlying transcriptional regulation of SMAD2 and SMAD4 had been clarified. The result showed the inhibition between SMAD2 and SMAD4, which promotes and inhibits bovine myoblast differentiation, respectively.

Numerous studies have demonstrated that circRNAs are important regulators of bovine fat deposition, but their precise mechanisms remain unclear. Previous transcriptome sequencing studies have indicated that circADAMTS16, a circRNA derived from the a disintegrin-like metalloproteinases with the thrombospondin motif 16 () gene, is high expressed in bovine adipose tissue.

Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a serious complication after vascular surgery. Reduced synthesis of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) from tryptophan is associated with an increased risk of AKI in critically ill patients, patients hospitalized with COVID-19, and cardiac surgery patients, and is marked by elevated urinary quinolinate and quinolinate to tryptophan ratios. We measured quinolinate concentrations in vascular surgery patients to determine if impaired NAD+ synthesis was associated with AKI in this patient population.
