Osteoporotic bone defects constitute a global health predicament due to their restricted self-repairing capacity. Ferroptosis arising from iron overload represents a crucial pathological characteristic of osteoporosis, depleting osteoblasts and disturbing bone metabolism. Inspired by natural tremella polysaccharide (TP), we developed an injectable composite hydrogel (OGP@DTrep) capable of inhibiting cell ferroptosis via dual mechanisms.

This method has the potential to significantly reduce the energy expenditure of the submersible, extend the operational time of the submersible underwater, and is a fundamental aspect of the submersible's overall underwater operational capability. Environmental parameters, including seawater density and pressure, as well as the displacement volume of the submersible, fluctuate with depth.

Although RCTs patch-augmented scaffolds demonstrate clinical potential, there is a paucity of reports on biodegradable scaffolds that effectively integrate high strength and bioactivity. Inspired by the composition and aligned nanofibrous structure of the natural fish bladder matrix (fish swim bladder, FSB), we employed a gallium (Ga)‒tannic acid (TA) metal‒polyphenol network (MPN)-modified decellularized fish bladder matrix (GaPP@FSB) as a novel biomaterial to address this problem.

Background: Large cell carcinoma (LCC) is a rare subtype of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) characterized by high prevalence of SMARCA4 deficiency and aggressive clinical behavior. However, despite these clinical parameters, the benefits of adjuvant therapy in early-stage LCC remain controversial.
Methods: This study included all LCC patients who underwent surgical resection at Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital between June 2017 and April 2023.
Background: Spinal cord injury (SCI) is a devastating central nervous system disorder that remains a global health challenge. SCI-induced oxidative stress in the postinjury microenvironment limits tissue repair by provoking the excessive production of reactive oxygen species (ROS). Tea polyphenols (TP), as a natural plant polyphenol, could effectively reduce ROS.

Methods: This was a multicentre, randomised, double-blinded, placebo-controlled study, in which eligible patients in disease active status were randomised into 2 groups (group 1: GCs+Thalidomide; group 2: GCs+Placebo) at a 1:1 ratio. The primary outcome of this trial was the disease relapse rate at month 12, whereas the secondary outcomes were the disease remission rate at month 12 and the incidence of adverse events (AEs).
Objective: The objective of this study was to determine the relationship between the plasma polymyxin B concentration and renal function in elderly patients.
Methods: This prospective, case-control, observational study included elderly patients who received polymyxin B therapy and were divided into an acute kidney injury (AKI) group and a non-AKI group based on their renal function. We monitored the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of polymyxin B, including the minimum plasma concentration (C), mean blood drug concentration at steady state (C), and area under the concentration-time curve across 24 h at steady state (AUC) in both study groups.

The management of open bone defects poses a formidable challenge in clinical practice, primarily due to issues such as profuse bleeding, inflammation, bacterial infections, and compromised bone fracture healing. To tackle these complexities, we have devised a novel hemostatic powder, namely the compound strontium-based chitosan quaternary ammonium salt hemostatic powder (QCS@SrT-TA). This innovative powder leverages the self-assembly of tripolyphosphate and strontium ions, facilitated by a positively charged core cross-linker.
