Climate-driven abiotic stresses, responsible for approximately 50% of global crop yield losses, are putting agriculture under increasing pressure, demanding smarter ways to strengthen plants' natural defenses beyond genetic modification. Hydrogen peroxide (HO), long recognized as a key signaling molecule, plays a powerful role in helping plants cope with environmental stress. This review deciphers the mechanistic basis of HO-mediated capacity enhancement under diverse stresses (drought, salinity, heavy metals, heat, cold) while also addressing climate-intensified challenges like waterlogging and ultraviolet (UV) radiation.

Minor hallucinations (MH), comprising three subtypes (presence hallucinations, passage hallucinations, and visual illusions), typically emerge during the early stages of Parkinson's disease (PD) and precede the onset of well-structured visual hallucinations (VH). Whether the number of MH is associated with VH in PD patients remains unclear. We investigated the association between the number of MH and VH in 372 PD patients.

The liver is very important in preserving physiological homeostasis via its immune response, detoxification, and metabolism functions. A multitude of factors, such as alcohol, can detrimentally impact liver function, resulting in acute or chronic liver injury, which may subsequently progress to liver cancer. Liver diseases comprise a broad range of disorders primarily characterized by damage to hepatocytes, inflammatory cell infiltration, and hepatic stellate cells activation.

It has become the most common chronic liver disease worldwide. β-arrestin2 is a multifunctional scaffold protein that is among the most important regulatory molecules, and it exerts key roles in regulating various cellular processes, such as immune response, cellular collagen production, and inflammation.

This study produced a multi-basin streamflow dataset, named Tianshan watershed streamflow (TSWS) dataset, by comparing the results of Hydrologiska Byråns Vattenavdelning and Long Short-Term Memory models, and analyzed spatiotemporal variation of streamflow.TSWS dataset provides daily streamflow data for 56 watersheds and monthly streamflow data for 89 watersheds in the Tianshan Mountains in 1901-2019.

However, TACE triggers rapid tumor apoptosis, which promotes the release of intracellular ATP into the extracellular space. This ATP is sequentially hydrolyzed to adenosine (ADO) by ectonucleotidases (CD39 and CD73) overexpressed in the tumor microenvironment (TME), resulting in ADO accumulation.

This study aimed to investigate the effects of LHDP on myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury (MIRI) in rats and their underlying mechanisms. MIRI model rats were administered varying doses of LHDP or Necrostin-1 (Nec-1s, an inhibitor of necroptosis) for 7 days.

Objective: To investigate the effects of allylestrenol on sex hormone levels and delivery outcomes in women with threatened abortion.
Methods: This retrospective analysis examined clinical data of patients with threatened abortion treated at Huzhou Maternity & Child Health Care Hospital from January 1, 2021, to December 31, 2022. A total of 149 eligible patients were screened and divided into two groups: a control group (n=75) treated with progesterone capsules from January to December 2021, and an observation group (n=74) treated with allylestrenol from January to December 2022.

Background: Diabetic striatopathy (DS) is a rare disorder characterized by clinical manifestations of hemichorea, non-ketotic hyperglycemia, and high signal on T1-weighted MRI or high density on CT scan in basal ganglia, typically associated with poor glycemic control.
Objective: This study aimed to analyze clinical characteristics of patients with diabetic striatopathy to raise awareness amongst physicians, especially endocrinologists, about this rare neurological manifestation in patients with diabetes.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the data on clinical presentations, laboratory workups, and cranial CT and MRI of six patients with DS who were admitted to our hospital from October 2013 to June 2022.

Aims: The exact cause of the parkinsonism gait remains uncertain. We first focus on understanding the underlying neurological reasons for these symptoms through the examination of both static functional network connectivity (SFNC) and dynamic functional network connectivity (DFNC).
Methods: We recruited 64 postural instability and gait disorder-dominated Parkinson's disease (PIGD-PD) patients, 31 non-PIGD-PD (nPIGD-PD) patients, and 54 healthy controls (HC) from Nanjing Brain Hospital.

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a chronic condition that afflicts individuals repeatedly and cannot be cured at present, which has seriously affected the quality of life of patients. Minerals Containing Rubidium (MCR) from Guangxi Yuechengling, which Professor Zhao Lichun purified, were explored. Against this backdrop, the present study investigates the efficacy of rubidium salt in ulcerative colitis.

Aim: Parkinson's disease (PD) tremor is associated with dysfunction in the basal ganglia (BG), cerebellum (CB), and sensorimotor networks (SMN). We investigated tremor-related static functional network connectivity (SFNC) and dynamic functional network connectivity (DFNC) in PD patients.
Methods: We analyzed the resting-state functional MRI data of 21 tremor-dominant Parkinson's disease (TDPD) patients and 29 healthy controls.
Study Objectives: Numerous observational studies link obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) to inflammatory proteins, yet the directionality of these associations remains ambiguous. Therefore, we aimed to clarify the potential associations of gene-predicted inflammatory proteins with OSA.
Methods: Based on genome-wide association study data, we applied Mendelian randomization (MR) to explore potential connections between circulating inflammatory proteins and OSA, primarily using the inverse-variance weighting method for robustness.
The grid-based precipitation dataset is an important source for studying precipitation change in the high mountains of Asia due to where precipitation stations are sparse. It is essential to evaluate the accuracy of grid-based precipitation datasets in the high mountains of Asia before selecting an appropriate grid-based dataset. Therefore, this study comprehensively evaluated the precipitation errors of four commonly utilized precipitation datasets (multi-source weighted-ensemble precipitation (MSWEP), global precipitation climatology centre (GPCC), global precipitation measurement (GPM), and soil moisture to rain-advanced scatterometer (SM2RAIN-ASCAT)) in the high mountains of Asia from temporal and spatial perspectives.

The exogenous use of the redox compound (HO) plays a significant role in abiotic stress tolerance. The present study investigated various HO application methods (seed priming, foliar spray, and surface irrigation) with varying concentration levels (0 mM, 5 mM, 10 mM, 15 mM, 40 mM, 80 mM, and 160 mM) to evaluate the efficiency of supplying exogenous HO to quinoa under water-deficit conditions. Drought stress reduced quinoa growth and yield by perturbing morphological traits, leading to the overproduction of reactive oxygen species and increased electrolyte leakage.

Meteorological drought is a crucial driver of various types of droughts; thus, identifying the spatiotemporal characteristics of meteorological drought at the basin scale has implications for ecological and water resource security. However, differences in drought characteristics between river basins have not been clearly elucidated. In this study, we identify and compare meteorological drought events in 34 major river basins worldwide using a three-dimensional drought-clustering algorithm based on the standardised precipitation evapotranspiration index on a 12-month scale from 1901 to 2021.
