This paper presents the earliest documented evidence for the presence and consumption of horse meat in Early Bronze Age Sicily, significantly revising previous understandings of equid use on the island. Multidisciplinary analyses involving proteomics and lipidomics were performed on ceramic vessels from the Castelluccian settlement at Polizzello Mountain (Caltanissetta), revealing residues consistent with equine-derived substances. Proteomic data unequivocally identified equine serum albumin in multiple pottery fragments, demonstrating active consumption or processing of horse-derived substances within a ceremonial or dietary context.

In turbulent flows, tracking the source of a passive scalar cue requires exploiting the limited information that can be gleaned from rare, randomized encounters with the cue. When crafting a search policy, the most challenging and important decision is what to do in the absence of an encounter. In this work, we perform high-fidelity direct numerical simulations of a turbulent flow with a stationary source of tracer particles, and obtain quasi-optimal policies (in the sense of minimal average search time) with respect to the empirical encounter statistics [1-3].

Cyber-Creativity: A Decalogue of Research Challenges.

Creativity is the primary driver of our cultural evolution. The astonishing potential of artificial intelligence (AI) and its possible application in the creative process poses an urgent and dramatic challenge for humanity; how can we maximize the benefits of AI while minimizing the associated risks? In this article, we identify all forms of human-AI collaboration in this realm as cyber-creativity. We introduce the following two forward-looking scenarios: a utopian vision for cyber-creativity, in which AI serves to enhance and not replace human creativity, and a dystopian view associated with the pre-emption of all human creative agency caused by the rise of AI.

Introduction: Most acute coronary syndromes (ACS) originate from coronary plaques that are angiographically mild and not flow limiting. These lesions, often characterised by thin-cap fibroatheroma, large lipid cores and macrophage infiltration, are termed 'vulnerable plaques' and are associated with a heightened risk of future major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE). However, current imaging modalities lack robust predictive power, and treatment strategies for such plaques remain controversial.

The Woven EndoBridge (WEB) device's effectiveness and safety have been thoroughly assessed in several clinical practice trials. The availability of new WEB sizes expanded the indications for the endovascular treatment of intracranial wide-necked aneurysms. The first search for a heavy neutral spin-1 gauge boson (Z^{'}) with nonuniversal fermion couplings produced via vector boson fusion processes and decaying to tau leptons or W bosons is presented. The analysis is performed using LHC data at sqrt[s]=13  TeV, collected from 2016 to 2018 with the CMS experiment and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 138  fb^{-1}. The data are consistent with the standard model predictions.

Gambling Carnot Engine.

We propose a theoretical model for a colloidal heat engine driven by a feedback protocol that is able to fully convert the net heat absorbed by the hot bath into extracted work. The feedback protocol, inspired by gambling strategies, executes a sudden quench at zero work cost when the particle position satisfies a specific first-passage condition. As a result, the engine enhances both power and efficiency with respect to a standard Carnot cycle, surpassing Carnot's efficiency at maximum power.

Despite advancements in understanding, HS remains a complex disease, whose exact pathogenesis is yet to be revealed. Nevertheless, the role of a dysregulated innate immune response has been established, potentially contributing to the persistent and chronic inflammation.

Predictors of remission and relapse in retroperitoneal fibrosis.

Objectives: In retroperitoneal fibrosis (RPF), glucocorticoids (GC), alone or in combination with immunosuppressive agents, induce remission in 80%-90% of patients but up to two thirds of them relapse. There is limited knowledge on outcome predictors in RPF. We aimed to identify clinical, laboratory and imaging predictors of remission and relapse in RPF.

Although easily performed and with optimal clinical results, scrotal ultrasound examinations are not free from technical difficulties. Some artifacts are relatively frequent, their creation mechanisms are well known and are easily recognized; others are uncommon, produce images which can be difficult to recognize, and need modifications of scan planes and examination techniques to be properly understood. The aim of this paper is to describe some rare artifacts and pitfalls in scrotal ultrasound, trying to explain their genesis and how to avoid them.

Introduction: The optimal management of patients with asymptomatic carotid stenosis (AsxCS) is enduringly controversial. The current stratification of AsxCS patients based on the degree of stenosis alone does not always reflect ipsilateral ischemic stroke risk. We hypothesized that the presence of ≥1 "high-risk" carotid plaque feature may more accurately identify AsxCS patients at high risk for a future ipsilateral ischemic cerebrovascular event.
