Introduction: The airway mucosa plays a crucial role in protection and various physiological functions. Current methods for restoring airway mucosa, such as myocutaneous flaps or split skin grafts, create a stratified squamous layer that lacks the cilia and mucus-secreting glands of the native columnar-lined airway. This study examines the application of various injectable biopolymers as active molecules for a potential approach to regenerating laryngeal epithelial tissue.

A free radical polymerization approach was applied to synthesize different carboxymethyl cellulose-grafted poly(acrylamide) hydrogels (Hyd) composited with biochar, magnetic biochar, and magnetic biochar decorated with ZIF-67 to decontaminate methylene blue (MB) from water media. Biochar was obtained from walnut shells (WS) by a pyrolysis method, and magnetic biochar (WS/CoFeO) and biochar-decorated ZIF-67 (WS/CoFeO/ZIF-67) were prepared by chemical co-precipitation and hydrothermal methods, respectively. An increase in the amount of these particles by up to 10 wt% enhanced the removal performance.

This study focuses on developing an analytical method to efficiently extract and concentrate several adipate and phthalate plasticizers that can migrate from plastic packaging into various wound disinfectants. The study employed an approach that combined dispersive micro solid phase extraction with dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction using ZIF-4 as an adsorbent. The adsorbent was thoroughly characterized to understand its properties.

Background: Another approach to improve the dose conformity is to use charged particles like protons instead of the conventional X- and γ-rays. Protons exhibit a specific depth-dose distribution which allows to achieve a more targeted dose deposition and a significant sparing of healthy tissue behind the tumor. In particular, proton therapy has, therefore, become a routinely prescribed treatment for tumors located close to sensitive structures.

Lemon balm (), a perennial herb belonging to the Lamiaceae family, is widely recognized for its medicinal properties and therapeutic benefits. This review offers a detailed exploration of the botanical features, phytochemical composition, and pharmacological uses of , highlighting key bioactive compounds such as phenolic acids (including rosmarinic and caffeic acids), flavonoids, essential oils (such as citral and citronellal), and triterpenoids (ursolic and oleanolic acids). Advanced extraction techniques, such as ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE), microwave-assisted extraction (MAE), pressurized liquid extraction (PLE), supercritical fluid extraction (SFE), and matrix solid-phase dispersion (MSPD), have greatly improved the efficiency of extraction, the preservation of bioactivity, and the sustainability of acquiring these bioactive compounds.

Ischemic stroke survivors often experience persistent cognitive and psychosocial deficits not fully addressed by conventional rehabilitation. This study compared the effectiveness of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Cognitive Rehabilitation Therapy (CRT) on Stroke Impact Scale (SIS) outcomes. In a quasi-experimental design with a control group and follow-up, 45 eligible patients were purposively sampled and randomly assigned to MBSR, CRT, or control groups.

Ribonucleases (RNases) represent a distinct category of nucleases that facilitate RNA degradation into smaller components. These enzymes are particularly adept at dismantling RNA strands and other materials. A promising strategy for the targeted treatment of cancer cells involves the administration of antibody-based toxic agents designed to eliminate tumor cells specifically.

Introduction: Metastatic breast cancer (mBC) is a major global health challenge. Antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), including trastuzumab emtansine (T-DM1), trastuzumab deruxtecan (T-DXd), and sacituzumab govitecan (SG), offer clinical benefits but are associated with high costs, making cost-effectiveness assessments essential for policy decisions.
Methods: This systematic review analyzed economic evaluations comparing T-DM1, T-DXd, and SG with conventional treatments in breast cancer.
