(TM) is a common opportunistic infection among patients with AIDS, characterized by rapid systemic dissemination and a high mortality rate. Early identification of patients at risk of death is critical to improving clinical outcomes. Despite the severity of disseminated TM infection (DPSM), few predictive tools exist to assess mortality risk in affected AIDS patients.

Melanoma, a type of malignant tumor, originates from skin cells known as melanocytes. The gut microbiota is closely linked to melanoma, and this bibliometric analysis aims to guide future studies and advance research into the role of the gut microbiome in melanoma. We used the Web of Science Core Collection database to identify relevant literature on the function of intestinal flora in melanoma from 2014-2023, and bibliometric analysis and network visualization were performed with VOSviewer, CiteSpace.

Rationale: The coexistence of intrauterine and extrauterine pregnancies is termed heterotopic pregnancy (HP). Most reported cases of HP occur after assisted reproductive technology, and HP in a natural pregnancy (NP) is very rare, often discovered intraoperatively. HP is a significant challenge for obstetricians, gynecologists, and sonographers.

There is a lack of reliable serum markers to reflect the fibrosis stage and necroinflammation grade in autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) patients. In this study, we investigated the diagnostic potential of a noninvasive serum marker, Golgi protein 73 (GP73), for fibrosis and inflammation in AIH patients. Serum GP73 concentrations were measured in a retrospective cohort of 79 patients with AIH who underwent liver biopsy.

Doxorubicin (DOX) is an effective chemotherapeutic agent, but its use is limited by dose-dependent cardiotoxicity. Palmatine (PAL) has shown potential in preventing doxorubicin-induced cardiotoxicity (DIC); however, the underlying mechanism remains unclear. Since DOX accumulation in cardiomyocytes is a key factor in the development of cardiotoxicity, this study aims to explore the pharmacokinetic mechanisms through which PAL alleviates DIC.

Doxorubicin (DOX), an anthracycline commonly used to treat various cancers, is associated with irreversible and dose-dependent cardiotoxicity. Salvianolic acid C (SAC) is a major polyphenolic compound in Salvia miltiorrhiza, an herbal medicine with significant cardioprotective effects. However, the role and mechanism of SAC in protecting against DIC remain unreported.

Micropolymorphisms drastically shape the antigen presentation characteristics of human leukocyte antigen class I (HLA-I) molecules, with profound implications for immune responses and disease susceptibility. HLA-C*12:02 and HLA-C*12:03 are closely related HLA-I allotypes that differ by a single amino acid substitution (R97W) but exhibit distinct associations with disease. HLA-C*12:02 has been shown to provide protective effects against HIV infection, playing a crucial role in controlling viral replication and slowing disease progression, whereas HLA-C*12:03 is associated with increased susceptibility to psoriasis.
