Background: Emerging adults living with type 1 diabetes (T1D) need targeted support to equip them with the knowledge and motivation required for self-management, particularly as they transition from pediatric to adult care. While multicomponent digital health interventions have shown promise in addressing their multifaceted needs, traditional effectiveness studies provide little, if any, insights into which components work effectively, how they function, and for whom.
Objective: This study aims to explore the implementation of a multicomponent, text message-based digital intervention (Keeping in Touch; KiT) to provide early insights into which components may shape participants' transition experiences and how.

Introduction: Activation is the degree that individuals have the knowledge, skills, beliefs, and behaviors necessary for effective health-care self-management. Those with higher activation are more likely to engage in behaviors associated with improved care outcomes, including increased medication and appointment adherence. Identifying and addressing patients' activation levels and associated behaviors at the outset of care can help to develop interventions to improve patients' participation in their healthcare.

Foveal crowding refers to the impaired recognition of a foveal stimulus due to the presence of adjacent flankers. Previous research has produced inconsistent results regarding the maturation of foveal crowding, either at ages 5-7 or remaining elevated from ages 5 to at least 11. We investigated this developmental trajectory using a specialized set of digit stimuli (Pelli fonts) tailored for measuring foveal crowding.

This letter offered commentary on the recently published article by Wang that investigated the relationship between iron metabolism disorders and sepsis-associated liver injury (SALI). The original study identified serum iron and total iron-binding capacity as potential predictive markers of SALI, contributing important insights to critical care hepatology. In this correspondence several methodological considerations that may influence the interpretation and generalizability of the findings were discussed.
