Objective: To establish the epidemiological cut-off values (ECOFFs) of sitafloxacin against , and
Methods: We collected 2264 clinical isolates from five different labs located in four cities in China. The minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) and inhibition zone diameters of sitafloxacin for all isolates were determined by using the broth microdilution method (BMD) and the disk diffusion method according to European Committee on Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing (EUCAST) guidelines. MIC ECOFFs were determined using ECOFFinder software, with the 99% calculated ECOFF selected as the initial value. Zone diameter ECOFFs were determined via the visual estimation method. Whole-genome sequencing was performed on strains exhibiting overlapping MICs between wild-type (WT) and non-wild-type (NWT) groups to analyze resistance mechanisms.
Results: Sitafloxacin MICs ranged from 0.002 to 64 mg/L, while inhibition zone diameters ranged from 6 to 45 mm across the nine species. MIC ECOFFs were determined as 0.032, 0.064, 0.125, 0.5, 0.064, 0.125, 0.5, 0.25, and 0.125 mg/L for (tentative ECOFF), , and , respectively. Except for , MICs of the other eight species showed a high correlation with zone diameters (|r| > 0.8, P < 0.0001). Consequently, the zone diameter ECOFFs were established as 26, 25, 24, 24, 25, 26, 21, and 22 for , and , respectively.
Conclusion: We established MIC and zone diameter ECOFFs for sitafloxacin against the nine species listed above. The MIC ECOFF for was classified as tentative. For , the correlation between zone diameters and MICs was insufficient to establish a zone diameter ECOFF.

Aim: To describe the percentage of abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) cases in the Maspalomas Basic Health Zone among males aged 65 to 75 years who are current or former smokers. Our secondary objectives were to define the distribution of known risk factors for AAA development in our sample and to facilitate early referral to the appropriate vascular surgery service. We also aim to describe the percentage of subaneurysm cases, offering ultrasound follow-up at our center.

Purpose: To evaluate the long-term functional and anatomical outcomes in patients with tractional lamellar macular holes who were managed without surgical intervention.
Methods: 63 eyes previously diagnosed with tractional lamellar macular hole between July 1, 2009 and January 30, 2024 without any surgical interventions were enrolled. The change in best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA), lamellar hole diameter, central retinal thickness (CRT) on Optical coherence tomography (OCT), foveal avascular zone (FAZ) areas on OCT angiography, and M-chart scores between initial and final visit were assessed.

Streptococcus mutans, a key cause of dental caries, is not treated by conventional toothpaste, brushing, flossing, or antiseptic mouthwashes. This necessitates the development of enriched toothpaste. Cyanobacteria-derived phycoerythrin (PE) has antioxidant and antibacterial properties.

Purpose: To use parametric numerical simulation to characterize and compare the differences in corneal biomechanical responses to laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) and keratorefractive lenticule extraction (KLEx) under various surgical settings.
Methods: The Finite Element Model was used in a parametric study to evaluate corneal biomechanical responses to LASIK and KLEx, considering variations in preoperative corneal thickness, corneal flap/cap thickness and diameter, refractive correction, and optical zone diameter. Surgery-induced stress, displacement, and interface contact pressure were compared between LASIK and KLEx using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test.

The cervicothoracic junction (CTJ) presents a surgical challenge due to its transitional nature from mobile to rigid segments. Therefore, the biomechanical characteristics of this transitional zone must be taken into consideration during instrumentation. This study aimed to determine the efficacy of the cervical pedicle screw placement (CPS) combined with 5.
