The accumulation of ice on surface has caused great harm to lots of fields such as transportation or aerospace. Nowadays, various equipment or tools used in low-temperature environments, which face the risk of interface icing, usually have irregular shapes. Traditional rigid anti-icing materials are difficult to meet practical application requirements. Thus, it is crucial to develop flexible anti-icing materials that can be applied to various shape surfaces (curved surfaces, flat surfaces). In this paper, a photoelectric synergistic flexible solid slippery surface (FSSS) is prepared by using flexible basalt fiberglass cloth, flexible copper foil, flexible polyurethane/carbon nanotubes mixture, and flexible solid lubricant (the mixture of coconut wax and coconut oil). Even under harsh conditions of the temperature as low as -80 °C, the FSSS exhibits excellent all-day anti/de-icing performance whether on flat or curved surface. Moreover, the FSSS shows long-term stability both on flat and curved surface: situated in air for 60 days, submerged in water for 60 days, kept in acid environment (pH 1) and base environment (pH 13) for 30 days. Besides, the FSSS can also achieve self-healing function under -80 °C. This flexible surface provides a novel approach for de-icing/frosting of multi-shaped objects in the future.

Polyesters, with their tunable chemical structures and environmental sustainability, have drawn growing attention as solid polymer electrolytes for next-generation solid-state lithium metal batteries (SSLMBs). Through a comprehensive experimental and theoretical study involving the systematic variation of carbon chain lengths in the flexible (diol) and coordinating (diacid) segments, along with selective fluorination at distinct positions along the polymer backbone, 18 types of polyester are fabricated and demonstrate that fluorination at the coordinating segment significantly enhances ionic conductivity by suppressing crystallinity. In contrast, fluorination at the flexible segment reduces ionic migration barriers by providing more homogeneous coordinating sites, thereby improving the lithium-ion transference number, despite increasing chain rigidity and a reduction in overall ionic conductivity.

Background: Previous studies involving cleanup via conventional solid-phase extraction (SPE) materials to overcome matrix effects for the polar organophosphonate and -phosphinate pesticides glyphosate, glufosinate, ethephon, fosetyl, and their various metabolites often showed limitations due to the existence of various matrix compounds in plant commodities with similar polarity. To overcome existing drawbacks, we utilized the unique selectivity provided by metal oxides as SPE materials. These were exploited in a novel automated online SPE-LC-MS/MS method which allowed analyte-specific trapping in the presence of excessive amounts of matrix compounds as typically contained in extracts of the Quick Polar Pesticides (QuPPe) method.

In this work, cerium oxide nanoparticles prepared through the solvothermal route (sCeO NPs) are integrated into chitosan (CH) matrices to serve as an efficient coating for banana preservation. The morphological, structural, mechanical, and water-barrier properties of nanocomposite films integrated with various sCeO concentrations were investigated to determine the optimal sCeO NPs concentration within the film matrix. Furthermore, the sensory evaluation and physicochemical properties of the coated and uncoated bananas, including visual attributes, peel browning, CO production, firmness, weight loss, ripening rate (based on total soluble solids and titratable acidity), and pH, are considered during storage.

Environmentally friendly food packaging has emerged as a viable strategy to replace traditional plastic films. In this study, eugenol Pickering emulsion was constructed with konjac glucomannan (KGM) and tragacanth gum (GT) as stabilizers, and was introduced into the KGM/chitosan (CS) composite film by electrostatic action to develop a new type of active packaging film. Interfacial characterization revealed optimal emulsion stability at a 1:5 KGM-to-GT mass ratio.
