Introduction: To investigate the alterations of serum proteins and metabolomics in women infected with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) at the end of pregnancy and their potential effects on fetal development.
Methods: The corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-19) group (n=31) included women in the third trimester diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection and who delivered, while the control group (n=30) comprised uninfected women in the same gestational period. This study applied data-independent acquisition (DIA) proteomics and ultra-performance liquid chromatography coupled with quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (UPLC-Q-TOF-MS) metabolomics to analyze serum samples from two groups of full-term pregnant women.

The hypoxia-ischemia (H-I) diseases share some common mechanisms which may help to delay the diseases' processing. However, the shared features are still unclear due to the lack of large scale high-quality multi - omics data that specifically target the same disease, population, and tissues/cells. In this study, we developed a novel risk assessment method to analyze four H-I diseases including eclampsia/preeclampsia (PE), pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), high-altitude polycythemia (HAPC), and ischemic stroke (IS).

Sepsis is characterised by fatal organ dysfunction resulting from a dysfunctional host response to infection, imposing a substantial economic burden on families and society. Therefore, identifying biomarkers for early sepsis diagnosis and improving patient prognosis are critical. This study recruited 59 sepsis patients and 35 healthy volunteers from the Department of Critical Care Medicine at Harbin Medical University Affiliated First Hospital between March and December 2021.

Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is a metabolic disease that can progress to metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH), cirrhosis, and cancer. The zonal distribution of biomolecules in the liver is implicated in mediating the disease progression. Recently, G-protein-coupled receptor 35 (GPR35) has been highlighted to play a role in MASLD, but the precise mechanism is not fully understood, particularly, in a liver-zonal manner.

Background: The increasing incidence of childhood obesity annually has led to a surge in physical and mental health risks, making it a significant global public health concern. This study aimed to discover novel biomarkers of childhood simple obesity through integrative multi-omics analysis, uncovering their potential connections and providing fresh research directions for the complex pathogenesis and treatment strategies.
Methods: Transcriptome, untargeted metabolome, and 16 S rDNA sequencing were conducted on subjects to examine transcripts, metabolites in blood, and gut microflora in stool.
