Article Abstract

The polylactic acid-glycolic acid copolymer (PLGA) has been proven to be applicable in medicine, but there is limited research on its application and safety in the agricultural field. In this paper, thifluzamide PLGA microspheres were prepared via phacoemulsification and solvent volatilization, using the PLGA copolymer as the carrier and thifluzamide as the active component. It was found that the microspheres had good slow-release performance and fungicidal activity against . A comparative study was conducted to show the effect of thifluzamide PLGA microspheres on cucumber seedlings. Physiological and biochemical indexes of cucumber seedlings, including dry weight, root length, chlorophyll, protein, flavonoids, and total phenol content, indicated that the negative effect of thifluzamide on plant growth could be mitigated when it was wrapped in PLGA microspheres. This work explores the feasibility of PLGA as carriers in fungicide applications.

Rising atmospheric CO exposes plants to high-CO environments, while excessive nitrogen fertilizer use degrades soil, highlighting the need to reduce nitrogen input and cultivate vigorous cucumber seedlings under HC-LN conditions. Calcineurin B-like proteins (CBLs) sense calcium signals and regulate carbon/nitrogen metabolism via CBL-interacting protein kinases (CIPKs), though their roles in cucumber under HC-LN conditions are unclear. Here, we identified seven and 19 genes.

GA participates in FR light-induced internode elongation of cucumber by regulating the expression of genes/proteins related to aquaporins, expansins, cell wall biosynthesis, hormone metabolism, and signal transduction. This study investigated the effects of the interaction between far-red (FR) light and gibberellin (GA) on the internode elongation of cucumber (Cucumis sativus L. 'Zhongnong No.

Background: The most widely used rootstock of cucumber grafting is pumpkin (Cucurbita moschata). The main task of pumpkin rootstock breeding is to evaluate its compatibility with cucumber scions. One of the main factors affecting grafting compatibility is the rootstock bleeding sap, which affects the wound healing of graft junction.

Cucumber target spot, a major disease that threatens cucumber production, is caused by Corynespora cassiicola. Cyclobutrifluram, a novel succinate dehydrogenase inhibitor (SDHI) developed by Syngenta, has demonstrated strong inhibitory activity against various plant pathogenic fungi and nematodes. However, its antifungal spectrum, resistance risk as well as underlying mechanisms of resistance in C.

The rhizosphere microbiome plays an important role in carbon- and nitrogen-cycling in soil and in the stress response of plants. It also affects the function of the ammonium transporter (AmtB) that senses nitrogen levels inside and outside the cells of the associative nitrogen-fixing bacterium GXGL-4A. However, the potential mechanism of the interaction between the AmtB deletion mutant of GXGL-4A (∆B) and microorganisms in the rhizosphere of plants under low-nitrogen stress is still unclear.
