Remorin (REMs) are plant-specific and plasma membrane-associated proteins that play an essential role in the growth and development of plants and adaptations to adverse environments. To our knowledge, a genome-scale investigation of the genes in tomato has never been systematically studied. In this study, a total of 17 genes were identified in the tomato genome using bioinformatics methods. Our results demonstrated that the 17 members of SlREM were classified into 6 groups based on phylogenetic analysis and unevenly distributed on the eight chromosomes of tomato. There were 15 homologous gene pairs between tomato and . The gene structures and motif compositions were similar. Promoter sequence analysis showed that the gene promoters contained some tissue-specific, hormones and stress-related cis-regulatory elements. Expression analysis based on qRT-PCR (Real-time quantitative PCR) analysis showed that family genes were were differentially expressed in different tissues, and they responded to ABA, MeJA, SA, low-temperature, drought and NaCl treatments. These results potentially provide relevant information for further research on the biological functions of family genes.

Idiopathic multicentric Castleman disease (iMCD) is a rare lymphoproliferative disorder characterized by systemic inflammation and lymphadenopathy. Two major clinical subtypes, idiopathic plasmacytic lymphadenopathy (iMCD-IPL) and iMCD with thrombocytopenia, anasarca, fever, renal dysfunction/reticulin fibrosis, and organomegaly (iMCD-TAFRO), exhibit distinct pathophysiologic mechanisms. While interleukin-6 (IL-6) is known to be elevated in iMCD, the differences in IL-6 production sources between subtypes remain unclear.

Background: Atherosclerosis is a chronic inflammatory disease characterized by the accumulation of lipid-laden foam cells and plaques within the arterial wall. Dysfunctional vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs), fibroblasts, endothelial cells, and macrophages contribute to disease progression. Here, we report that macrophage-specific expression of epsins, highly conserved endocytic adaptor proteins involved in clathrin-mediated endocytosis, accelerates atherosclerosis in Western diet-fed mice.

Background: Previous studies have suggested that the associations between ambient air pollution and atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases (ASCVD) differ by genotype. A genome-wide approach provides a more comprehensive understanding of this relationship on a genomic scale.
Methods: Using data from ≈300 000 UK Biobank participants, we conducted a genome-wide interaction analysis on 10 745 802 variants.

Background: Early-onset preeclampsia poses significant risks to maternal and fetal health, necessitating a deeper understanding of its molecular mechanisms and effective therapeutic strategies.
Methods: Utilizing data from genome-wide association study and Mendelian randomization analysis, we investigated the relationship between mitochondrial DNA copy number and preeclampsia. Transcriptome sequencing, in vitro experiments, and animal studies were conducted to explore the roles of SENP3 and SETD7 in preeclampsia pathogenesis.

Objective: This study investigated the relationship of maternal serum uric acid, cystatin C (CysC), and coagulation indices [international normalized ratio (INR) and fibrinogen (FIB)] during pregnancy with clinical features and prognosis of early-onset pre-eclampsia.
Methods: Patients with pre-eclampsia (n = 133) were retrospectively selected, with clinical features and maternal uric acid, CysC, INR, and FIB levels collected. The relationship between clinical features and maternal uric acid, CysC, INR, and FIB was analyzed by Pearson's and Spearman's analyses.
