Many of the chemotherapeutic drugs for the treatment of cancer are molecules identified and isolated from plants or their synthetic derivatives. This work aimed to identify the bioactive compounds using LC-MS and GC-MS and to evaluate the anticancer activity of the methanolic extracts of roots, stems, leaves, and flowers from . The anticancer activity was evaluated in vitro against two cancer cell lines: human breast carcinoma (MCF-7) and human prostate carcinoma (PC-3), using the MTT assay and microscopic observation. A human normal lung fibroblast (MRC-5) was included to determine the extract's safety for non-tumoral cells. The chemical composition results by LC-MS analysis revealed the presence of 24 phenolic compounds. Furthermore, GC-MS analysis allowed the identification of many biomolecules belonging to terpenoids, esters, alcohols, alkanes, fatty acids, organic acids, benzenes, phenols, ketones, carbonyls, amines, sterols, and other groups. The findings suggest that the majority of extracts have antiproliferative activity against two cancer cell lines, MCF-7 and PC-3, and one non-tumoral cell line, MRC-5. The activity was dose-dependent, and the highest effect was obtained with leaf extract in the two cancer cell lines. Moreover, these extracts demonstrated an acceptable toxicological profile against normal cells. Overall, extracts revealed promising antitumor properties provided by their phytochemical composition.

Myocardial infarction (MI), induced by ischemia and hypoxia of the coronary arteries, presents as myocardial necrosis. Patients often experience intense, prolonged retrosternal pain that is unrelieved by rest or nitrate therapy and is frequently associated with high blood myocardial enzyme levels. Physical effort may exacerbate this anxiety, increasing the likelihood of life-threatening consequences such as arrhythmias, shock, or cardiac failure.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Ligusticum chuanxiong (CX) is a traditional Chinese medicine with diverse effects, such as anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, neuroprotective, anti-nociceptive, and anticancer properties. It has been used in clinical applications with satisfying therapeutic effects. However, the underlying mechanism that contributes to the anti-pruritic effects remains to be comprehensively investigated.

Cancer is a leading cause of global mortality, significantly impacted by treatment resistance and the toxicity of conventional therapies like chemotherapy and radiation. Recent studies show that anastasis-the recovery of cells from near-death states-as a key mechanism promoting cancer relapse and apoptosis resistance. During anastasis, stress-induced caspase activation allows cancer cells to survive, increase chemoresistance, and enhance metastatic potential.

Lithobates palmipes is a frog species whose skin secretions contain peptides belonging to the ranatuerin, brevinin, and temporin families. In this study, the peptide ranatuerin-2PMe was isolated and evaluated for its antimicrobial, hemolytic, antiproliferative, and chemotactic activities. Ranatuerin-2PMe (2933.

RhoA is a key cancer driver and potential colorectal cancer (CRC) therapy target but remains undrugged clinically. Using activity-based protein profiling (ABPP) and mass spectrometry (MS), we identified CL16, a covalent inhibitor targeting the unique Cys16 on RhoA subfamily, which confers high specificity over other Rho family proteins. Cys16 is adjacent to the nucleotide-binding pocket and switch regions, which are critical for RhoA function.
