Article Abstract

Mechanical regulation and electric stimulation hold great promise in skin tissue engineering for manipulating wound healing. However, the complexity of equipment operation and stimulation implementation remains an ongoing challenge in clinical applications. Here, we propose a programmable and skin temperature-activated electromechanical synergistic wound dressing composed of a shape memory alloy-based mechanical metamaterial for wound contraction and an antibacterial electret thin film for electric field generation. This strategy is successfully demonstrated on rats to achieve effective wound healing in as short as 4 and 8 days for linear and circular wounds, respectively, with a statistically significant over 50% improvement in wound closure rate versus the blank control group. The optimally designed electromechanical synergistic stimulation could regulate the wound microenvironment to accelerate healing metabolism, promote wound closure, and inhibit infection. This work provided an effective wound healing strategy in the context of a programmable temperature-responsive, battery-free electromechanical synergistic biomedical device.

Bismuth-layered structure ferroelectrics (BLSFs), exemplified by CaBiTaO (CBTa), exhibit exceptional thermal stability at high temperatures with a high Curie temperature. This attribute renders them highly promising candidates for piezoelectric sensors, transducers, non-volatile ferroelectric memory, working in extreme environments. However, CBTa ceramic suffers from the following intrinsic limitations: spontaneous polarization confined within the -plane of the unit cell and a large coercive field, leading to severely suppressed piezoelectric activity ( ≈ 5.

To address the collaborative demand for low-frequency vibration control and energy recovery, this paper proposes a dual-functional structure integrating low-frequency vibration isolation and broadband energy harvesting. The structure consists of two core components: one is a quasi-zero stiffness (QZS) vibration isolation module composed of a linkage-horizontal spring (negative stiffness) and a vertical spring; the other is an energy-harvesting component with an array of parameter-differentiated piezoelectric cantilever beams. Aiming at the conflict between the structural dynamic stiffness approaching zero and broadening the effective working range, this paper establishes a dual-objective optimization function based on the Pareto principle on the basis of static analysis and uses the grid search method combined with actual working conditions to determine the optimal parameter combination.

Flexible hydrogel sensors demonstrate emerging applications, such as wearable electronics, soft robots, and humidity smart devices, but their further application is limited due to their single-responsive behavior and unstable, low-sensitivity signal output. This study develops a dual-responsive starch-based conductive hydrogel via a facile "one-pot" strategy, achieving mechanically robust pressure sensing and ultra-sensitive humidity detection. The starch-Poly (2,3-dihydrothieno-1,4-dioxin)-poly (styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS)-glutaraldehyde (SPG) hydrogel integrates physical entanglement and covalent crosslinking to form a porous dual-network architecture, exhibiting high compressive fracture stress (266 kPa), and stable electromechanical sensitivity (ΔI/I, ~2.

We report the design and synthesis of a dual-plasmonic yolk-shell nanostructure containing Au nanoplate@CuSe hollow spheres with tunable selenium (Se) content, engineered to enhance NIR-II photothermal conversion performance. The fabrication process begins with the high-yield synthesis of Au nanoplates, which serve as both a structural template and a plasmonic core. A conformal CuO layer is then grown on the Au nanoplate surface, followed by controlled selenization to convert CuO into CuSe, concurrently forming a yolk-shell architecture with a hollow interlayer.

Biological membranes and their vesicular derivatives constitute dynamic nanoscale architectures critical to cellular function. Their electromechanical properties and molecular diversity govern processes ranging from vesicle trafficking and signal transduction to pathogen entry and organelle morphogenesis. While decades of foundational research have advanced our understanding of lipid bilayer assembly and membrane protein interactions, achieving a comprehensive, multiscale understanding of membrane dynamics, spanning molecular interactions to cellular-scale behavior, remains a paramount challenge in modern cell biology.
