Article Abstract

The recent demand for analogue devices for neuromorphic applications requires modulation of multiple nonvolatile states. Ferroelectricity with multiple polarization states enables neuromorphic applications with various architectures. However, deterministic control of ferroelectric polarization states with conventional ferroelectric materials has been met with accessibility issues. Here, we report unprecedented stable accessibility with robust stability of multiple polarization states in ferroelectric HfO. Through the combination of conventional voltage measurements, hysteresis temperature dependence analysis, piezoelectric force microscopy, first-principles calculations, and Monte Carlo simulations, we suggest that the unprecedented stability of intermediate states in ferroelectric HfO is due to the small critical volume size for nucleation and the large activation energy for ferroelectric dipole flipping. This work demonstrates the potential of ferroelectric HfO for analogue device applications enabling neuromorphic computing.

Difenoconazole (DFC) is a commonly used triazole fungicide known for its high efficiency and environmental persistence. A thorough understanding of its environmental behavior, particularly sorption in soil, is critical to obtain a comprehensive assessment of the ecological risk of DFC. In this study, three soils with distinct physicochemical properties (brown soil, cinnamon soil, and fluvo-aquic soil) were used to elucidate the adsorption mechanisms of DFC on soil.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Fever is a prevalent clinical symptom and is usually caused by inflammation or infection. Persistent high fever can lead to delirium, coma and convulsions, causing brain damage. Angong Niuhuang Pill (ANP), a traditional Chinese emergency medicine, has been employed in clinical practice for centuries, with well-documented antipyretic effects.

A comprehensive understanding of the molecular mechanism underlying the Liquid-Liquid Phase Separation (LLPS) pathway of LCD-TDP43 remains a challenge in the context of its neuropathogenesis. The primary driving force behind the TDP-43 LLPS is the interplay of hydrophobic interactions reinforced by aromatic residues. This study presents a novel, convenient, sensitive, and probe-free approach using excitation-emission matrix (EEM) fluorescence to monitor the microenvironment of aromatic residues and π-π stacking interactions during different stages of the LLPS pathway.

Although cold atmospheric plasma is a promising therapeutic technique for tumor immunotherapy via reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (RONS), the challenges associated with the generation and delivery of these RONS hamper clinical adoption. Herein, a dual-mode hybrid discharge plasma-activated sodium alginate hydrosols (PAH) is proposed to enhance the antitumor immune response. Gaseous highly reactive RONS are generated by dual-mode hybrid plasma produced by mixed O and NO modes, which are converted into aqueous RONS in PAH via gas-liquid reactions between plasma and hydrosols.

Metaflammation, a chronic immune response triggered by metabolic dysregulation, poses significant threats to gut-liver homeostasis in aquaculture species. To understand the progression of metaflammation, it is crucial to examine the role of SOCS8 deficiency in socs8 zebrafish, as this species may serve as a disease model for metabolic disorders due to the gradual dysregulation of immunity, metabolism, and the gut microbiota observed in them. This study examines the immune-metabolic crosstalk in grass carp, subjected to soybean meal-induced enteritis, and in socs8 zebrafish under genetic and dietary stress.
