We experimentally analyze the signal-to-noise ratio of continuous wave (CW) near infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) reflectance systems based on light emitting diodes and silicon photomultipliers for high performance low cost NIRS biomedical systems. We show that under suitable experimental conditions such systems exhibit a high SNR, which allows an SDS of 7 cm, to our knowledge the largest ever demonstrated in a CW-NIRs system.

Objective: To compare the efficacy of different settings in continuous-wave transscleral cyclophotocoagulation (CW-TSCPC).
Design: Prospective, randomized, triple-blind clinical trial in a single tertiary center.
Participants: Adult glaucoma patients who need continuous wave-transscleral cyclophotocoagulation to control intraocular pressure (IOP) or prevent or treat ocular pain/discomfort secondary to increased IOP.

Background: The shape of the continuous wave Doppler (CWD) envelope in functional tricuspid valve regurgitation (fTR) results from the dynamic interplay between flow, pressure gradient and impedance. Although the v-wave cut-off shape in fTR is a well-recognized feature of severe TR, the complete spectrum of TR CWD shapes across the different fTR severity ranges has not been thoroughly explored, which is the scope of the present study.
Methods: In 245 patients with fTR, TR was graded with transthoracic echocardiography using the corrected proximal isovelocity surface area method and CWD shapes were scored, both qualitatively (using visual scoring into parabolic, triangular or v-wave cut-off categories) and quantitatively using a novel Vmax/Vmean parameter and time-to-peak velocity corrected for TR duration (TTP/TRD).

Background: During the electrode screwing process in left bundle branch pacing (LBBP), the significance of the S wave in lead V6 remains elusive. Our study analyzes the change of the S wave in lead V6 under different patterns of capture and explores its mechanisms.
Methods: This study included 243 cases with criterion of selective LBBP (SLBBP), we performed continuous pacing technique and classified the electrophysiological characteristics observed during the screwing process into four patterns: left ventricular septal pacing (LVSP), non-selective LBBP (NSLBBP) in low output and in the lower output, selective LBBP.
BackgroundNurses suffered an unprecedented number of potentially morally injurious events (PMIEs) during the COVID-19 pandemic. Their long-term associations with organizational well-being remain unknown.Research aimWe aimed to assess whether psychological basic need thwarting characteristic of nurses' episodic memories of PMIEs from the pandemic, either enacted (self-PMIEs) or passively witnessed (other-PMIEs), explained unique burnout and turnover intentions variance 2 years after the events.
