Angiogenesis is the formation of new capillaries sprouting from pre-existing vessels. Angiogenesis occurs in a variety of normal physiological and pathological conditions and is regulated by a balance of stimulatory and inhibitory angiogenic factors. The control of this balance may fail and result in the formation of a pathologic capillary network during the development of many diseases. Therefore, we developed the angiogenesis database (AngioDB), which can provide a signaling network of angiogenesis-related biomolecules in human. Each record of AngioDB consisted of 12 fields and was developed by using a relational database management system. For the retrieval of data, Active Server Page (ASP) technology was integrated in this system. Users can access the database by a query or imagemap browsing program. The retrieving system also provides a list of angiogenesis-related molecules classified by three categories, and the database has an external link to NCBI databases. AngioDB is available via the Internet at http://angiodb.snu.ac.kr/.

Background: Idiopathic inflammatory myopathies (IIMs) exhibit diverse cellular microenvironments in muscle tissues, yet the full spectrum of cell populations and changes remains unclear. This study aimed to characterize cellular heterogeneity, explore cell-cell interactions and assess the prognostic value of cell subtype abundances across IIM subtypes in Han Chinese.
Methods: Muscle samples from six IIMs and three normal controls (NC) underwent single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq), whereas bulk RNA sequencing was performed on 203 IIMs and 19 NC.

Ischemic stroke (IS) is a serious cerebrovascular disease. Due to its complex pathophysiological mechanisms and the limitation of drug delivery by the blood-brain barrier (BBB), current treatments for IS still struggle to achieve ideal outcomes. In this study, a multifunctional bimetallic phenolic network nanoparticle (Sr/Mn@Rh) formed via simple metal-phenolic coordination-driven self-assembly of Mn²⁺, Sr²⁺, and rutin hydrate (Rh) was developed for IS therapy.

Background: To evaluate the effects of tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) Dovitinib, Lapatinib, and Telatinib on angiogenesis in zebrafish, and to explore the regulatory mechanism of PI3K/AKT pathway activator SC79 on these inhibitory effects.
Methods: Transgenic zebrafish embryos were used to observe the development and morphological changes of intersegmental vessels (ISVs) by fluorescence microscopy. Real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR was employed to detect the expression of angiogenesis-related genes including kdrl, flt1, vegfaa, akt2, and pik3r1.

Epigenetics is increasingly recognized as a crucial factor in angiogenesis. Ubiquitin-like with PHD and RING Finger Domains 1 (UHRF1) is an important epigenetic regulatory protein involved in regulating cellular life processes, developing many diseases. However, its potential role in regulating embryonic vascular development and postnatal angiogenesis is unclear.

Background: Neovascularization mechanisms are hyperactivated in tumors, leading to vascular dysfunction and contributing to tumor metastasis and growth. This study aims to comprehensively analyze angiogenesis-associated genes in relation to the prognosis of elderly patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML).
Methods: Leukemia gene expression data were obtained from the GSE37642 (training set) and TCGA_LAML (validation set) datasets.
