Background: Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is a highly aggressive breast cancer subtype associated with the highest mortality rate among all breast cancer subtypes, primarily due to the absence of actionable therapeutic targets. Although poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase inhibitors (PARPi) have shown promising therapeutic effects in TNBC patients harboring homologous recombination deficiency (HRD), their clinical benefit remains limited, highlighting an urgent need for novel targets that enhance PARPi efficacy. This study investigates the role of Jab1 in regulating the stability of homologous recombination repair (HRR)-related RNAs and evaluates its potential as a therapeutic target to enhance PARPi sensitivity in TNBC.

Phthalate exposure during pregnancy may result in neurotoxicity to offspring, but no studies have investigated the effects of longitudinal phthalate trajectories during pregnancy on children. Therefore, exposure trajectories were constructed by using urine concentrations of phthalates at different times. Similarly, 3220 children were screened for symptoms of autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and emotional and behavioral problems (EBPs) via multiple measures between the ages of 1.

Background: Fibronectin type III domain containing 1 (FNDC1) exhibits emerging roles in tumorigenesis, yet its pan-cancer implications and mechanistic contributions to stomach adenocarcinoma (STAD) remain underexplored. This study systematically evaluates FNDC1's prognostic relevance, immune interactions, and functional impact in STAD.

Methods: Multi-omics analyses integrated FNDC1 expression, mutation profiles, and immune associations across 33 cancers using The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) data.

Esophageal basaloid squamous cell carcinoma (EBSCC) is a rare subtype of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) that might be misdiagnosed or missed in clinical practice. Through RNA sequencing on 20 pure EBSCC and 11 poorly differentiated ESCC samples, we identified CSPG4 as a potential marker for EBSCC at the mRNA level, and verified with CSPG4 immunohistochemical staining in these cases. Then we assessed the value of CSPG4 expression in differential diagnosis and prognosis in EBSCC cases (n = 360) and conventional ESCC cases (n = 160) from 11 different institutions with whole-tissue sections.

Cyanidin-3-O-glucoside (C3G), as a typical anthocyanin, exhibits excellent antioxidant effects. This study aimed to demonstrate the role and mechanism of C3G in regulating 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-coenzyme A reductase (HMGCR)-mediated cholesterol anabolism on HO-induced oxidative stress in HEK-293T cells. Firstly, the inhibitory effect of C3G on oxidative stress was confirmed by CCK-8, ROS, and mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP) experiments.

PARP inhibitors (PARPi) hold substantial promise in treating glioblastoma (GBM). However, the adverse effects have restricted their broad application. Through unbiased transcriptomic and proteomic sequencing, it is discovered that the BET inhibitor (BETi) Birabresib profoundly alters the processes of DNA replication and cell cycle progression in GBM cells, beyond the previously reported impact of BET inhibition on homologous recombination repair.

Background: Diabetes mellitus (DM) increases the risk of mortality in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI). The impact of the diabetes duration on the long-term outcome of those with percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) after the first AMI is unclear. In this study, we evaluated the predictive value of diabetes duration in the occurrence of major adverse cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events (MACCEs).

Objective: To investigate the inhibitory mechanisms of ginsenoside F1 on hydrogen peroxide induced cholesterol metabolism disorder and oxidative stress in HepG2 cells.

Methods: 1, 1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl(DPPH) and oxygen radical absorbance capacity(ORAC) tests were used to detect the scavenging effect of ginsenoside F1 on nitrogen and oxygen free radicals. HepG2 cells were treated with 400 μmol/L hydrogen peroxide and pretreated with 10, 20 and 40 μmol/L ginsenoside F1.

Soft tissue sarcoma is a broad family of mesenchymal malignancies exhibiting remarkable histological diversity. We portray the proteomic landscape of 272 soft tissue sarcomas representing 12 major subtypes. Hierarchical classification finds the similarity of proteomic features between angiosarcoma and epithelial sarcoma, and elevated expression of SHC1 in AS and ES is correlated with poor prognosis.

This study employed proline, glucose, and water to prepare natural deep eutectic solvents (NADES) through heating and stirring. The Maillard reaction was then performed, producing a high yield of Amadori rearrangement product (ARP) and physicochemical properties of NADES were examined for impacts on the reaction. Water had a dual function by promoting the formation of hydrogen bonding networks within the NADES when present at less than 15%, and also working as a diluting agent that could potentially disturb its structure when exceed 15%.

Introduction: Obesity in adults is a problem, particularly when paired with other metabolic abnormalities. Previous research have linked various screening approaches to diabetes, but additional evidence points to the relevance of combining diabetes screening methods with obesity and its effects. This research examined the impact of thyroid hormones (TSHs) and health risk factors (HRFs) in screening for obesity and diabetes in Chinese populations, and whether age can modulate this association.

The subtypes of duodenal cancer (DC) are complicated and the carcinogenesis process is not well characterized. We present comprehensive characterization of 438 samples from 156 DC patients, covering 2 major and 5 rare subtypes. Proteogenomics reveals LYN amplification at the chromosome 8q gain functioned in the transmit from intraepithelial neoplasia phase to infiltration tumor phase via MAPK signaling, and illustrates the DST mutation improves mTOR signaling in the duodenal adenocarcinoma stage.

Objective: To clarify the effects of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) and coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) on the clinical outcomes of patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) complicated with reduced ejection fraction heart failure (HFrEF) through meta-analysis.

Methods: Three major literature databases - PubMed, Web of Science, and Cochrane - were searched by search terms and the literature retrieval time was publications dating from January 2007 to December 2021. To search for observational studies and randomized controlled trials (RCT) comparing the efficacy of PCI and CABG in patients with CHD and HFrEF, the abstract or full text of the literature was read and the final included literature was determined, according to inclusion and exclusion criteria.

Glioblastoma (GBM) is the most aggressive type of cancer. Its current first-line postsurgery regimens are radiotherapy and temozolomide (TMZ) chemotherapy, both of which are DNA damage-inducing therapies but show very limited efficacy and a high risk of resistance. There is an urgent need to develop novel agents to sensitize GBM to DNA-damaging treatments.

Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) and adenocarcinoma (AC) are two main histological subtypes of solid cancer; however, SCCs are derived from different organs with similar morphologies, and it is challenging to distinguish the origin of metastatic SCCs. Here we report a deep proteomic analysis of 333 SCCs of 17 organs and 69 ACs of 7 organs. Proteomic comparison between SCCs and ACs identifies distinguishable pivotal pathways and molecules in those pathways play consistent adverse or opposite prognostic roles in ACs and SCCs.
