Fast neutron imaging has emerged as a highly adaptable non-destructive inspection tool in industrial applications and scientific research. This technique predominantly employs hydrogen-rich scintillation screens based on the principle of nuclear recoil; however, it suffers from limited spatial resolution due to significant energy diffusion of recoil protons. Herein, a 1D perovskite, CsCuClI is demonstrated, for fast neutron imaging based on Cl (n,p) nuclear reaction.

This paper proposes a deeply integrated model called CAS-GNN, aiming to solve the collaborative path-planning problem for multi-agent vehicles operating in dynamic environments. Our proposed model integrates CAS-UNet and Graph Neural Network (GNN), and, by introducing a dynamic edge enhancement module and a dynamic edge weight update module, it improves the accuracy of obstacle boundary recognition in complex scenarios and adaptively changes the influence of different edges during the information transmission process. We generate data through online trajectory optimization to enhance the model's adaptability to dynamic environments.

Sluggish bulk charge transfer and barren catalytic sites severely hinder the CO photoreduction process. Seeking strategies for accelerating charge dynamics and activating reduction and oxidation sites synchronously presents a huge challenge. Herein, an inside-out chlorine (Cl) ions substitution strategy on the layered polar BiOBr is proposed for achieving layer structure-dependent polarization effect and redox dual-sites activation.

Rapid bulk charge recombination and mediocre surface catalytic sites harshly restrict the photocatalytic activities. Herein, the aforementioned concerns are well addressed by coupling macroscopic spontaneous polarization and atomic-site engineering of CdS single-crystal nanorods for superb H photo-production. The oriented growth of CdS nanorods along the polar axis, vectorially superimposing substantial polar units with orderly arrangement, renders a strong polarization electric field (20.

Primordial follicles (PFs) function as the long-term reserve for female reproduction, remaining dormant in the ovaries and becoming progressively depleted with age. Oxidative stress plays an important role in promoting female reproductive senescence during aging, but the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. Here, we find that low levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS) are essential for sustaining PF dormancy.

The adoption and growth of functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) technology, especially through the use of Pearson's correlation (PC) for constructing brain functional networks (BFN), has significantly advanced brain disease diagnostics by uncovering the brain's operational mechanisms and offering biomarkers for early detection. However, the PC always tends to make for a dense BFN, which violates the biological prior. Therefore, in practice, researchers use hard-threshold to remove weak connection edges or introduce -norm as a regularization term to obtain sparse BFNs.

For heterojunction system, the lack of stable interfacial driving force and definite charge transfer channel makes the charge separation and transfer efficiency unsatisfactory. The photoreaction mechanism occurring at the interface also receives less attention. Herein, a 2D/2D Z-scheme junction BiOBr@NiFe-LDH with large-area contact featured by short interface hydrogen bonds and strong interfacial electric field (IEF) is synthesized, and in situ photoinduced metallic species assisting charge transfer mechanism is demonstrated.

In females, the pathophysiological mechanism of poor ovarian response (POR) is not fully understood. Considering the expression level of p62 was significantly reduced in the granulosa cells (GCs) of POR patients, this study focused on identifying the role of the selective autophagy receptor p62 in conducting the effect of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) on antral follicles (AFs) formation in female mice. The results showed that p62 in GCs was FSH responsive and that its level increased to a peak and then decreased time-dependently either in ovaries or in GCs after gonadotropin induction in vivo.

Article Synopsis
  • Premature ovarian insufficiency (POI) causes infertility due to accelerated loss of ovarian function, often linked to defects in folliculogenesis and ovulation failure, but the exact mechanisms are not fully understood.
  • Researchers utilized advanced techniques, including whole genome sequencing and mouse models, to investigate the role of the polycomb repressive complex 1 (PRC1) in POI and ovarian follicle development.
  • A specific mutation in a PRC1 component was found in a patient, and further studies showed that simultaneous deletion of two PRC1 components hindered cell proliferation and disrupted communication necessary for fertility, indicating that PRC1 is critical in regulating gene activity and may inform future POI treatments.

In a growing follicle, the survival and maturation of the oocyte largely depend on support from somatic cells to facilitate FSH-induced mutual signaling and chemical communication. Although apoptosis and autophagy in somatic cells are involved in the process of FSH-induced follicular development, the underlying mechanisms require substantial study. According to our study, along with FSH-induced antral follicles (AFs) formation, both lysine-specific demethylase 1 (LSD1) protein levels and autophagy increased simultaneously in granulosa cells (GCs) in a time-dependent manner, we therefore evaluated the importance of LSD1 upon facilitating the formation of AFs correlated to autophagy in GCs.

Single-atom catalysts (SACs) are demonstrated to show exceptional reactivity and selectivity in catalytic reactions by effectively utilizing metal species, making them a favorable choice among the different active materials for energy conversion. However, SACs are still in the early stages of energy conversion, and problems like agglomeration and low energy conversion efficiency are hampering their practical applications. Substantial research focus on support modifications, which are vital for SAC reactivity and stability due to the intimate relationship between metal atoms and support.

Single-atom catalysts show excellent catalytic performance because of their coordination environments and electronic configurations. However, controllable regulation of single-atom permutations still faces challenges. Herein, we demonstrate that a polarization electric field regulates single atom permutations and forms periodic one-dimensional Au single-atom arrays on ferroelectric BiTiO nanosheets.

In silicon modulator design, implantation is always a key factor, significantly influencing the doping profile and carrier distribution. As waveguide doping is limited by the compact footprint of the modulator rib, three-dimensional complex optimization is a viable option to improve performance. This work proposes an X-intersected modulator based on two inversely slanted junctions using the effective 3D Monte Carlo method for junction generation.

Photocatalysis shows huge potential in environmental purification, but suffers from fast photocharge recombination and finite photoabsorption. Piezoelectric polarization is perceived as a promising approach to drive charge separation, but it always relies on the energy-guzzling ultrasonic vibration. Herein, a piezo-photocatalytic system integrating dual electric fields constructed by weak force-driven piezoelectric polarization and Z-scheme junction is developed in 0D/2D α-FeO/BiWO.

Single-cell western blotting (scWB) is a prevalent technique for high-resolution protein analysis on low-abundance cell samples. However, the extensive signal loss during repeated antibody stripping precludes multiplex protein detection. Herein, we introduce luorescent-quenching ptamer-based ingle-cell estern lotting (FAS-WB) for multiplex protein detection at single-cell resolution.

A large number of oocytes in the perinatal ovary in rodents get lost for unknown reasons. The granulosa cell-oocyte mutual communication is pivotal for directing formation of the primordial follicle; however, little is known if paracrine factors participate in modulating programmed oocyte death perinatally. We report here that pregranulosa cell-derived fibroblast growth factor 23 (FGF23) functioned in preventing oocyte apoptosis in the perinatal mouse ovary.
