Porcine deltacoronavirus (PDCoV) is an emerging swine enteropathogenic coronavirus that has the potential to infect humans. Histone deacetylase 6 (HDAC6) is a unique type IIb cytoplasmic deacetylase with both deacetylase activity and ubiquitin E3 ligase activity, which mediates a variety of cellular processes by deacetylating histone and nonhistone substrates. In this study, we found that ectopic expression of HDAC6 significantly inhibited PDCoV replication, while the reverse effects could be observed after treatment with an HDAC6-specific inhibitor (tubacin) or knockdown of HDAC6 expression by specific small interfering RNA.

Tea polyphenol epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) has been widely recognized for antiobesity effects. However, the molecular mechanism of lipidomic pathway related to lipid-lowering effect of EGCG is still not well understood. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects and mechanism of EGCG activated hepatic lipidomic pathways on ameliorating obesity-related complications by using newly developed leptin receptor knockout (Lepr KO) rats.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disorder that has been associated with the gut microbiota. However, whether and how the gut microbiota plays a pathogenic role in RA remains unexplored. Here, we observed that Fusobacterium nucleatum is enriched in RA patients and positively associated with RA severity.

This process is essential for a plant's overall fitness. Multiple internal and external factors, such as leaf age, plant hormones, stresses, and light environment, regulate the onset and progression of leaf senescence.

Herein, new BRD4-histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitors were designed to restore the susceptibility of () to fluconazole (FLC). Interestingly, several compounds showed excellent selectivity against fungal HDACs.

Invasive fungal infections (IFIs) are emerging as a serious threat to public health and are associated with high incidence and mortality. IFIs also represent a frequent complication in patients with cancer who are undergoing chemotherapy. However, effective and safe antifungal agents remain limited, and the development of severe drug resistance further undermines the efficacy of antifungal therapy.

Soybean (Glycine max) morphogenesis and flowering time are accurately regulated by photoperiod, which determine the yield potential and limit soybean cultivars to a narrow latitudinal range. The and genes, which encode phytochrome A photoreceptors in soybean, promote the expression of the legume-specific flowering repressor to delay floral transition under long-day (LD) conditions. However, the underlying molecular mechanism remains unclear.

Here, several key obstacles are overcome by developing a first-in-class ultrasmall (sub-8-nanometer (nm)) anti-human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-targeting drug-immune conjugate nanoparticle therapy. This multivalent fluorescent core-shell silica nanoparticle bears multiple anti-HER2 single-chain variable fragments (scFv), topoisomerase inhibitors, and deferoxamine moieties.

This study aimed to develop a prognostic model for lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) using angiogenesis-related long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) as potential prognostic factors. Transcriptome data from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) were analyzed to identify aberrantly expressed angiogenesis-related lncRNAs in LUAD.

We aimed to examine the pooled prevalence of HPV DNA and p16 positivity in vulvar cancer and vulvar intraepithelial neoplasia worldwide.
Methods: In this systematic review and meta-analysis, we searched PubMed, Embase, and the Cochrane Library databases for studies published between Jan 1, 1986, and May 6, 2022, that reported the prevalence of HPV DNA, or p16 positivity, or both, in histologically verified vulvar cancer or vulvar intraepithelial neoplasia.

Antibiotics are ubiquitous in the iron-rich environments but their roles in microbial reduction of Fe(III) oxides are still unclear. Using ampicillin and Geobacter soli, this study investigated the underlying mechanism by which antibiotic regulated microbial reduction of Fe(III) oxides. Results showed that sub-minimal inhibitory concentrations (sub-MIC) of ampicillin significantly affected ferrihydrite reduction by G.

Here, using large-scale individual datasets and genetically engineered (Col2a1-CreER;Eldr and Col2a1-CreER;ROSA26-LSL-Eldr knockin) mouse models, we show that a novel transcript of long noncoding RNA ELDR is essential for the development of chondrocyte senescence. ELDR is highly expressed in chondrocytes and cartilage tissues of OA.

The active site of CPSF73 is located at the interface between a metallo-β-lactamase domain and a β-CASP domain. Two metal ions are coordinated by conserved residues, five His and two Asp, in the active site, and they are critical for the nuclease reaction.

SLC7A11-mediated cystine uptake suppresses ferroptosis yet promotes cell death under glucose starvation; the nature of the latter cell death remains unknown. Here we show that aberrant accumulation of intracellular disulfides in SLC7A11 cells under glucose starvation induces a previously uncharacterized form of cell death distinct from apoptosis and ferroptosis. We term this cell death disulfidptosis.

Root-associated microorganisms regulate plant growth and development, and their distribution is likely influenced by habitat conditions. In this study, the responses of rhizosphere and root-endophytic fungi of dominant ephemeral plants to aeolian soil (AS) and grey desert soil (DS) in the Gurbantünggüt Desert were analyzed using high-throughput sequencing. This was done to understand the adaptation strategies of this vegetation in typical habitat soils from a microbial perspective.
