Embryoless rice is valuable for studying early seed development and has great breeding potential, however, related research remains limited. Here, we show that mutations in OsBZR4, encoding brassinazole-resistance 4, lead to 60-100% embryoless seeds across different cultivars. OsBZR4 is specifically expressed at the scutellum-endosperm interface and regulates auxin levels and distribution during early embryo development.

Heading date is a crucial agronomic trait that determines the adaptability of rice to specific planting regions and seasons. Although numerous heading date genes have been well characterized in rice, epigenetic regulation of flowering time remains limited. In this study, we identified JmjC (Jumonji C) domain-containing gene JMJ720 as a novel heading date-regulated gene.

A multi-center, retrospective analysis included 7617 patients with cT1-2 and cN0-1, who underwent US-FNAB for ALN and proceeding to SLNB or axillary lymph node dissection (ALND). Metastatic patterns were assessed, particularly focusing on correlations with positive FNAB results and additional ALN metastasis found during ALND, with statistical significance evaluated.

We retrospectively analyzed 14 breast cancer patients treated with TDAP flap OBS from May 2020 to August 2023. Patients were divided into two groups: Group A (first 7 cases) and Group B (last 7 cases).

However, the differential regulatory mechanisms of ncRNAs in muscle and adipose tissue remain unclear.
Results: In this study, 2,343 differentially expressed mRNAs (DEMs), 235 differentially expressed lncRNAs (DELs), 95 differentially expressed circRNAs (DECs) and 54 differentially expressed miRNAs (DEmiRs) were identified in longissimus dorsi muscle (LD), subcutaneous fat (SF) and perirenal fat (VF) in Qinchuan beef cattle.
Immunotherapy research focuses on reshaping the tumor microenvironment (TME) to enhance its antitumor immune responses, with an emphasis on understanding the impact of RNA methylation in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) TME regulation. This study explored the influence of various RNA methyltransferases on TME cells in TNBC and their correlation with prognosis and immunotherapy response. Using non-negative matrix factorization on single-cell RNA-sequencing data, distinct TME cell clusters were identified based on the expression of 30 RNA methyltransferases.

This retrospective study rigorously compares the clinical efficacy of three surgical methodologies for treating gynecomastia while providing guidance for future surgical modality selection. We analyzed records of 77 gynecomastia patients treated between January 2015 and October 2022. Patients were categorized into three groups: Group A (subcutaneous gland resection via areola incision), Group B (liposuction combined with single-hole endoscopic gland resection), and Group C (liposuction combined with three-hole endoscopic gland resection).
View Article and Find Full Text PDFLong noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) are crucial regulators of tumor-initiating cells (TICs) and hold particular importance in triple negative breast cancer (TNBC). Yet, the precise mechanisms by which TIC-associated lncRNAs influence TNBC remain unclear. Our research utilized The Cancer Genome Atlas Breast Cancer (BC) data set to identify prognostic lncRNAs.

Here, we defined whether circRNA solute carrier family 7 member 5 (circ-SLC7A5, also called hsa_circ_0040796) is causally involved in the pathogenesis of ESCC.
Methods: Circ-SLC7A5, microRNA (miR)-874-3p and coronin-1C (CORO1C) expression levels were gauged by qRT-PCR or immunoblotting.
Salt damage is an important abiotic stress affecting the agronomic traits of soybean. Soybeans rapidly sense and transmit adverse signals when salt-damaged, inducing a set of response mechanisms to resist salt stress. encodes a small GTPase, which plays an important role in Arabidopsis vesicle transport and salt tolerance.

However, systematic studies on the stemness of breast cancer as well as breast cancer subtypes, and the relationship between stemness and metastasis and prognosis, are still lacking. In the present research, using the transcriptome data of patients with breast cancer in the TCGA database, a stemness prediction model was utilized to derive the stemness of the patients' tumors.

However, radiotherapy is often insufficient as a monotherapy and requires a nontoxic radiosensitizer. Squalene epoxidase (SQLE) controls cholesterol biosynthesis by converting squalene to 2,3-oxidosqualene.

We aimed to explore some novel and significant genes with unfavorable prognoses and potential pathways involved in BC initiation and progression via bioinformatics methods. BC tissue-specific microarray datasets of GSE42568, GSE45827 and GSE54002, which included a total of 651 BC tissues and 44 normal breast tissues, were obtained from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database, and 124 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified between BC tissues and normal breast tissues via R software and an online Venn diagram tool.

The objective of this study was to identify novel predictive biomarkers for the response to these agents in treating non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). A genome-wide loss-of-function screen revealed that tumor suppressor PPP2R2A, a B regulatory subunit of protein phosphatase 2 (PP2A), determines sensitivity to CHK1 inhibition.

Background: A role for neural precursor cell-expressed developmentally downregulated gene 4 (NEDD4) in tumorigenesis has been suggested. However, information is lacking on its role in breast tumor biology. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of NEDD4 in the promotion of the growth and progression of breast cancer (BC) and to evaluate the clinicopathologic and prognostic significance of NEDD4.

The dysregulation of microRNAs (miRNAs) occurring in the initiation or progression of cancers often leads to aberrant gene expression. The aim of the present study was to explore the function of miR‑126 in TNBC cells.

Pulmonary fibrosis (PF) is a chronic and ultimately fatal interstitial lung disease of various causes. The advent of nintedanib and pirfenidone provides treatment options for PF patients for the first time. However, the adverse effects of the two drugs such as gastrointestinal disorders and hepatic dysfunction often lead to treatment discontinuation.

After resection, determining the status of resection margins (RMs) is crucial for deciding on the nature of the follow-up treatment. The purpose of this study was to evaluate whether multiphoton microscopy (MPM) could be considered a reliable tool for determining the status of pancreatic neck margins by identifying tumour cells of ductal adenocarcinoma in these margins in the pancreatic head, and our results were affirmative.

Here, we demonstrated that the M-MDSCs expressing CD11b+CD33+HLA-DR-CD14+ in lung cancer patients after thoractomy significantly increased in comparison with preoperation, and their accumulation linearly correlated with an increase in Treg. Surgery-induced M-MDSCs, in addition to have high arginase activity, were more efficient in suppressing T-cell proliferation.

Air pollution has been classified as Group 1 carcinogenic to humans, but the underlying tumorigenesis remains unclear. In Xuanwei City of Yunnan Province, the lung cancer incidence is among the highest in China attributed to severe air pollution generated by combustion of smoky coal, providing a unique opportunity to dissect lung carcinogenesis of air pollution. Here we analyzed the somatic mutations of 164 non-small cell lung cancers (NSCLCs) from Xuanwei and control regions (CR) where smoky coal was not used.
