Purpose: Whether metanephrines (MNs)-corrected indices in adrenal venous sampling (AVS) would be useful in subtyping primary aldosteronism (PA) concurrent with autonomous cortisol secretion (ACS) remains unclear.
Methods: This retrospective study included PA patients concurrent with (PA/ACS) or without (isolated PA) ACS who underwent AVS. Firstly, optimal cut-offs for the metanephrine-based selectivity index (SI) and normetanephrine-based SI (SI) were determined using cortisol-corrected SI (SI≥2) as the reference in the isolated PA group.
Background: Cortisol-corrected aldosterone concentration is used to interpret adrenal venous sampling (AVS) results to identify the subtype of primary aldosteronism. Whether AVS could be interpreted using aldosterone without cortisol correction is unclear.
Purpose: To evaluate the accuracy of plasma aldosterone concentration (PAC) and aldosterone ratio (PAC of the higher side divided by PAC of the lower side) of the adrenal veins for the diagnosis of unilateral PA (UPA).
Objective: Positive medial cortical support is a reliable fracture reduction pattern, but existing research on its use is mainly qualitative. We conducted this finite element analysis study to quantitatively evaluate the usefulness of positive cortical support for intertrochanteric fracture reduction.

Enoyl coenzyme A hydratase 1 (ECH1) is a secreted protein implicated in numerous metabolic disorders, yet its role in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis remains unclear. In this study, we found higher serum ECH1 levels in coronary artery disease (CAD) patients and apolipoprotein E (ApoE) mice on a western diet for 12 weeks. In vivo, aorta and aortic sinus histological staining revealed that intraperitoneal injection of recombinant ECH1 reduced aortic lesions, inflammation, and macrophage infiltration in ApoE mice.

The morbidity and death rates of calcified aortic valves|calcific aortic valve (CAV) disease (CAVD) remain high for its limited therapeutic choices. Here, we investigated the function, therapeutic potential, and putative mechanisms of Enoyl coenzyme A hydratase 1 (ECH1) in CAVD by various in vitro and in vivo experiments. Accurately depicting the subsurface mixing of radially injected remediation agents with contaminated plumes remains paramount yet challenging for understanding and simulating reactive transport. Background And Aims: Primary aldosteronism (PA) is an adrenal disorder of autonomous aldosterone secretion which promotes arterial injury. We aimed to explore whether PA is causally associated with lower-extremity arterial disease (LEAD).
Methods: We included 39,713 patients with diabetes and 419,312 participants without diabetes from UK Biobank.
Objective: Adrenal venous sampling (AVS) is recommended for identifying the subtype of primary aldosteronism before making a surgical treatment decision, but failed cannulation of one adrenal vein is common. To evaluate whether using results of one adrenal vein during AVS could accurately predict unilateral primary aldosteronism.
Methods: A retrospective study was conducted in primary aldosteronism patients receiving bilaterally or unilaterally successful AVS.
