Pure solid lung cancer is associated with higher lymph node metastasis rates, therefore identifying the risk factors and metastatic patterns of lymph node involvement in early-stage pure solid lung cancer is a critical research topic. We retrospectively collected preoperative Computed Tomography (CT) imaging and postoperative pathological data of patients with pure solid lung cancer from 2021 to 2025 to investigate the risk factors and patterns of lymph node metastasis. Among 8718 patients, 104 with ≤ 2 cm pure solid lung cancer were analyzed, with a lymph node metastasis rate of 20.

Enhancing the efficacy of sonodynamic therapy through modulation of autophagy.

Sonodynamic therapy (SDT), a noninvasive treatment modality that combines low intensity ultrasound with sonosensitizers, has shown significant potential in the treatment of cancer and metabolic diseases. However, SDT induced autophagy plays a dual role in disease progression, as it can promote either cell survival or cell death, and its effects are highly dependent on cell type and pathological context. This complexity underscores the urgent need for regulation of autophagy to optimize the therapeutic efficacy of SDT.

Background: Population aging has led to accelerated decline in pulmonary function, rising prevalence of depressive symptoms, and cognitive impairment, posing significant public health challenges. Although epidemiological evidence links poorer pulmonary function to subsequent cognitive decline, the pathways driving this relationship are not fully understood. We therefore investigated whether depressive symptoms mediate this relationship in older Chinese adults.

Efficacy of opioid-free anesthesia in short-term recovery following laparoscopic-assisted colorectal tumor resection: a randomized trial.

Objective: This study aims to evaluate whether opioid-free anesthesia is non-inferior to opioid-based anesthesia in terms of short-term recovery quality in patients undergoing laparoscopic-assisted colorectal tumor resection.

Methods: A randomized controlled trial was conducted with 102 participants, who were randomly assigned to one of two groups: opioid-free general anesthesia with thoracic epidural anesthesia (OFA) group and opioid-based general anesthesia with compound transversalis fascia nerve block (OA) group. Purpose: This study aims to investigate the protective effects of esketamine on lung injury in rat models of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) under mechanical ventilation. The focus is on serum exosome miRNA profiles through RNA sequencing and bioinformatics analysis.

AI-assisted direct anterior approach posterolateral approach in total hip arthroplasty: a retrospective cohort study based on artifact-reduced CT 3D reconstruction.

Objective: To compare the accuracy of implant positioning and early functional recovery between direct anterior approach (DAA) and posterolateral approach (PLA) in total hip arthroplasty (THA) guided by an artificial intelligence preoperative planning system (AIHIP).

Methods: The study population consisted of 206 patients who underwent DAA surgery and 81 patients who underwent PLA surgery, all of whom were designed preoperatively using AI-HIP, and postoperatively using artefact-reduced CT reconstruction for prosthesis mounting angle measurements and follow-up such as postoperative outcomes. The main assessments included prosthesis positioning accuracy (compared to the preoperative plan): acetabular anterior inclination (AA), femur anterior inclination (FNA), combined anterior inclination (CA), alignment of femoral stem prosthesis and femur; clinical outcomes: operative time, hospital stay, and time to grounding; functional scores: Harris Hip Score, WOMAC, and VAS Pain Score; and biomarkers: haemoglobin, CRP, and IL-6, among others.

We aimed to build a combined radiomics-clinic (CoRC) model for triaging SF and explore the additive value of the CoRC model to transient elastography-based liver stiffness measurement (FibroScan, TE-LSM). Assessing causality between chronic obstructive pulmonary disease with depression: A bidirectional Mendelian randomization study.

Purpose: Our investigation utilized a two-sample Mendelian randomization approach to explore the ambiguous bidirectional relationship between Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and depression, furthering insights from existing observational studies.

Methods: In this study, we conducted a bidirectional Mendelian randomization using genome-wide association studies (GWAS) datasets. We initially analyzed depression data from the Psychiatric Genomics Consortium and the UK Biobank (n = 500,199), alongside COPD data from the FinnGen Consortium (n = 329,552).

Quantification of behaviors in macaques provides crucial support for various scientific disciplines, including pharmacology, neuroscience, and ethology. Despite recent advancements in the analysis of macaque behavior, research on multi-label behavior detection in socially housed macaques, including consideration of interactions among them, remains scarce. Nephroprotective Effects of Cardamonin on Renal Ischemia Reperfusion Injury/UUO-Induced Renal Fibrosis.

Acute kidney injury and chronic renal fibrosis are intractable pathological processes to resolve, yet limited strategies are able to effectively address them. Cardamonin (CAD) is a flavonoid with talented antioxidant, anti-inflammatory capacity, and satisfactory biosafety. In our study, animal and cellular models of renal ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) and unilateral ureteral obstruction (UUO) were successfully constructed to confirm whether CAD confers protective effects and underlying mechanisms.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the effects on the dislocation and misalignment of the cuffed end of a double-lumen endobronchial tube (DLT) when a patient moves from a horizontal to a lateral position without fixation.

Methods: A total of 148 patients who had undergone video-assisted thoracoscope surgery were enrolled and randomly divided into two groups: a group in which the periportal end of the DLT was fixed with tape (group I;  = 74) and a group in which the periportal end of the DLT remained unfixed (group II;  = 74). Both groups were given an intravenous induction for double-lumen endobronchial intubation and then moved from a horizontal position to a lateral position, after which the alignment of the bronchial cuffed end of the DLT was assessed using a fiberoptic bronchoscope.
