Cigarette smoke, a complex mixture of more than 7000 chemicals, poses a significant threat to human health, with oxidative stress being an important mechanism in its associated diseases. Traditional methods for assessing the toxicity of cigarette smoke components, such as animal and cell-based assays, are often limited by their high cost and time consumption. This study integrates multiple machine learning algorithms and diverse data sources to construct a robust predictive model for identifying oxidative stress-inducing components in cigarette smoke.

Purpose: The primary goal of this investigation was to evaluate the therapeutic impact of HYSJD extract on DSU in a murine model.
Background: The prevalence of depression and anxiety symptoms, and their comorbid among Chinese university students is rising. Psychological symptoms are strongly associated with lifestyle choices, such as takeaway food consumption and physical activity. While the association between takeaway food consumption, physical activity level, and their joint effect on the psychological symptoms of university students are still unclear.

Context: As a novel SGLT1 inhibitor, SY-009 has been preliminarily confirmed in a phase Ib clinical study for its ability to reduce postprandial blood glucose in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). However, the effects of SY-009 on human plasma metabolomics are still unknown.
Objective: This study aimed to explore the effects of SY-009 on plasma metabolomics in patients with T2DM and the potential metabolic regulatory mechanism involved.
As immune-checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) therapy has made great strides in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) treatment, improving patient response to this strategy has become the main focus of research. Accumulating evidence has shown that mA methylation plays a crucial role in the tumorigenesis and progression of HCC, while the precise impact of the mA demethylase ALKBH5 on the tumor immune microenvironment (TIME) of HCC remains poorly defined. The clinical significance of ALKBH5 and TIM3 were evaluated in human HCC tissues.

Background: This study assessed the pharmacokinetics (PK), pharmacodynamics (PD) and safety of QHRD106, and made a comparison with urinary kallindinogenase (UKN) in healthy volunteers.
Methods: This study comprised a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, single-dose escalation phase and an open-label, multiple-dose escalation phase. Ninety-four subjects received intramuscular injections of QHRD106/placebo only once and 30 subjects received QHRD106 four times.

mA modification is a crucial epigenetic regulatory mechanism in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). Low-dose cardiotonic drugs have been shown to induce apoptosis in DLBCL cells through epigenetic modulation. However, the involvement of the cardiotonic drug ouabain in the malignant progression of DLBCL remains unclear.

DS002 is a novel anti-nerve growth factor antibody drug independently developed by Guangdong Dashi Pharmaceuticals. The main purpose of this study is to explore the correlation between DS002 and pain as well as cartilage and bone metabolism with the help of metabolomics technology and the principle of enzyme-linked reaction, and to examine whether DS002 will produce serious adverse effects in joints caused by its same target class of drugs, in order to provide more scientific basis for the safety and efficacy of DS002.

The onset and progression of KC are closely tied to the gradual weakening of the cornea's biomechanical properties. KC progression can be prevented with corneal cross-linking (CXL), but this treatment has shortcomings, and evaluating its tissue stiffening effect is important for determining its efficacy.

N-methyladenosine (mA) methylation, the most abundant internal modification of RNA in mammals, participates in the metabolism of mRNA and interrelates with ncRNAs. In this paper, we overviewed the complex function of mA regulators in HCC, including regulating the tumorigenesis, progression, prognosis, stemness, metabolic reprogramming, autophagy, ferroptosis, drug resistance and tumor immune microenvironment (TIME).

Purpose: To evaluate the regional effects of different corneal cross-linking (CXL) protocols on corneal biomechanical properties.
Methods: The study involved both eyes of 50 rabbits, and the left eyes were randomized to the five intervention groups, which included the standard CXL group (SCXL), which was exposed to 3-mW/cm2 irradiation, and three accelerated CXL groups (ACXL1-3), which were exposed to ultraviolet-A at irradiations of 9 mW/cm2, 18 mW/cm2, and 30 mW/cm2, respectively, but with the same total dose (5.4 J/cm2).
The COVID-19 pandemic has had an enormous impact on traditional tourism. Influenced by the uncertainties of the current epidemic, to revive the development of tourism and local economics, local governments have used short video accounts to release tourist promotion short videos for publicizing and marketing. This study takes official promotion short videos as the research object, establishes a structural equation model based on the SOR theory, and explores the influencing factors of official short videos on tourists' destination decisions through empirical analysis.

Methicillin-resistant (MRSA) is among the common drug resistant bacteria, which has gained worldwide attention due to its high drug resistance and infection rates. Biofilms produced by are known to increase antibiotic resistance, making the treatment of infections even more challenging. Hence, inhibition of biofilm formation has become an alternative strategy for controlling persistent infections.

Cordycepin, a major component of cordyceps militaris, has been shown to possess neuroprotective and anti-inflammatory activity. However, the effects of cordycepin in rotenone-induced PD models and the possible mechanisms are still not fully understood.

Jiedu Sangen Decoction (JSD), a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formula, has been widely used in China to treat gastrointestinal cancer, especially as an adjuvant therapy in colorectal cancer (CRC) patients. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of JSD and Jiedu Sangen aqueous extract (JSAE) in colon cancer cells and explored the underlining mechanisms by cytotoxicity assay, scratch assay, transwell migration assay, matrigel invasion assay, confocal laser scanning microscopy, and western blot analysis. We demonstrated that JSAE inhibited the growth of colon cancer SW480 cells in a dose-dependent manner and JSAE repressed cancer cell migration and invasion.
