Introduction: Immunoglobulin G4-related disease is a systemic fibroinflammatory disorder that affects the kidney, presenting as an immunoglobulin G4-related inflammatory pseudotumor. These renal inflammatory pseudotumors are usually solid, and cystic presentations have not been previously described.
Case Presentation: We report a 77-year-old man who presented with a Bosniak category III renal cystic mass and periaortic fibrous thickening.
Introduction: Apalutamide, an androgen receptor antagonist for prostate cancer, rarely causes drug-induced hypersensitivity syndrome (DIHS).
Case Presentation: A 75-year-old male with prostate cancer and multiple bone metastases developed grade 2 rash and grade 3 liver dysfunction according to the Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events (CTCAE) 3 weeks after starting apalutamide with a GnRH antagonist, followed by a 3-day fever. Ten days later, symptoms worsened to grade 3 rash and grade 4 liver dysfunction.
Background: Although there are reports on angioplasty for inframalleolar (IM) occluded lesions in chronic limb-threatening ischemia (CLTI), the clinical outcomes specific to the IM stenotic lesions remain unclear. This study evaluated the effect of balloon angioplasty for IM stenotic lesions on the clinical outcomes of patients with CLTI.
Methods: This is a multicenter, retrospective, nonrandomized observational study.
A 37-year-old man with a history of chronic myeloid leukemia presented to our hospital with fever and right scrotal pain. Computed tomography (CT) revealed subcutaneous fluid in the soft tissues of the scrotum and penis. His white blood count was 3,700/μl and C-reactive protein (CRP) was 44.

Electrochemical studies revealed that the 6-hpa ligand lowers the oxidation potential of the peroxide moiety by 0.13 V and twice enhances O evolution during catalytic water oxidation by fixing the configuration.

Therefore, this study investigated the relationship between dream content and mental health, specifically anxiety disorder and depressive symptoms, among Japanese adolescents.

We aimed to evaluate the association between infant feeding methods and changes in the distribution of Barium (Ba) and Strontium (Sr) in deciduous teeth of children. The current analysis included 216 children around 6-7 years of age whose deciduous central incisor teeth were provided between March 2018 and February 2020, as an adjunct study of the Japan Environment and Children's study.

Recently, Fanconi syndrome caused by red yeast rice supplements has been reported. We encountered a 60-year-old woman with acute kidney injury and Fanconi syndrome caused by a red yeast rice supplement.

Ustilago esculenta is a smut fungus that parasitizes Zizania latifolia, forming edible fungal galls known as Makomotake. In this study, we quantified indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) produced in liquid-cultured U. esculenta and in fungal galls at different growth stages.

Materials And Methods: The study had a multicenter, retrospective, nonrandomized, observational design and was performed at 4 cardiovascular centers in Japan. Patients aged ≥20 years with chronic limb-threatening ischemia (CLTI) (Rutherford Classification 5-6) who were treated with endovascular therapy for de novo IM occlusions between January 2016 and December 2022 were included.

Intranodal lymphangiography has replaced conventional pedal lymphangiography and has advanced lymphatic intervention. In this method, a lymph node is punctured and Lipiodol is injected to visualize the subsequent lymphatic vessels. This has facilitated the widespread adoption of lymphatic interventional radiology due to the simplicity of the technique and the shortened examination time of the procedure, which allows easy mapping of lymphatic vessels and lymphatic fluid dynamics.

Design: A prospective multicenter cohort study.
Participants: Patients diagnosed with POAG and intraocular pressure (IOP) ≤18 mmHg undergoing prostaglandin analog monotherapy.
Arsenite [As(III)] is a toxic substance widely present on Earth, and the development of low-cost and simple microbial-based As(III) sensors has been attracting attention. Recently, we discovered that the protein LuxR, which contains multiple cysteine residues with high affinity for As(III), forms an insoluble structure upon binding to As(III) and exhibits OFF-switching properties as a quorum sensing transcriptional activator. Based on this property, the LuxR sensor operates on a new principle distinct from conventional whole-cell As(III) sensors; however, its sensitivity remains a challenge.

Catheter ablation is the first-line treatment for atrial fibrillation. Although the efficacy and safety of this procedure have been reported in older patients, they might diminish with age. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the safety and effectiveness of atrial fibrillation ablation in patients aged ≥80 years.

A 66-year-old man with a chief complaint of fatigue and blood tests showing hepatic dysfunction was seen for a more detailed examination. Abdominal contrast-enhanced computed tomography showed an anastomosis of the ileal artery and ileal vein via a nidus within the mesentery.

However, no method has been established to quantify ions and nanoparticles containing the same elements separately. We developed an asymmetric flow field-flow fractionation hyphenated to inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (AF4-ICP-MS) to assess elemental impurities from ions and nanoparticles of different sizes.

However, they also appear in various other disorders, including substance use disorders, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, and anxiety disorders, as well as in healthy individuals. Despite this, the diversity of intrusive thoughts remains largely unexplored.

This enhances reproductive efficiency and helps increase the populations of critically endangered species. One way to facilitate the exchange of genetics between captive and free-ranging animals is through the creation of cryogenic banks that store cryopreserved gametes.

Reproductive organs require a greater amount of boron for development and growth compared with vegetative organs. However, the mechanism by which plants distribute boron to specific organs is not fully understood.

Our group recently synthesized a series of end-to-end bent perylene bisimide (PBI) cyclophanes, whose degree of bending is adjustable by modifying the internal alkyl tethers. Herein, we subjected these bent PBI derivatives to theoretical calculations and time-resolved spectroscopy.
