The diagnostic accuracy of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) for detecting molecular residual disease (MRD) after multimodal treatment remains unclear. In a prospective cohort of 132 patients with locally advanced esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) undergoing neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (nCRT) followed by clinical response evaluation and surgery, tumor-informed personalized-panel and fixed-panel ctDNA assays are applied to serial blood samples. Personalized ctDNA assay demonstrates a superior baseline detection rate (99.

A common approach in living medicine engineering is modifying cell surfaces with nanomedicines to form nanoparticle-cell conjugates. Despite various available strategies, limited research has examined how conjugation strategies affect the efficiency and stability of the delivery systems. Herein, we prepared polymeric nanoparticles (NPs) with protein payloads and modified them with different linkers.

Increasing research shows that microRNAs may modulate the fibrotic process by regulating mitochondrial function via various pathways.
Aims: To examine the involvement of miR-17-5p in modulating mitochondrial autophagy and alleviating pathological cardiac fibrosis.
Global warming has intensified the health risks associated with heat stress, such as heatstroke and dehydration, underscoring the importance of understanding heat acclimatization (HA). HA involves physiological, psychological, and structural adaptations to prolonged high temperatures, improving heat tolerance and reducing heat-related harm. A key player in this process is HSP70, a conserved protein essential for maintaining cellular balance, regulating cell death, and controlling waste removal.

Background: Preclinical studies have shown that baclofen may reduce the risk of osteoarthritis through its anti-inflammatory effect.
Objective: We aimed to clarify this association by comparing the risks of osteoarthritis and joint replacement surgery in patients receiving baclofen and tizanidine.
Methods: This retrospective cohort study was conducted on the global TriNetX platform (October 31, 2024).
Plant height (PH), leaf width (LW), and leaf angle (LA) are critical phenotypic parameters in maize that reliably indicate plant growth status, lodging resistance, and yield potential. While various lidar-based methods have been developed for acquiring these parameters, existing approaches face limitations, including low automation, prolonged measurement duration, and weak environmental interference resistance. This study proposes a novel estimation method for maize PH, LW, and LA based on point cloud projection.

The age-related effects on NHL survivors with/without VIPN remain unclear.
Purpose: This study was designed to determine the variation in and severity of symptom manifestations in patients in two age groups as well as the effect of age on functional status and QoL.
Background/objectives: Dynapenic abdominal obesity is characterized by reduced muscle strength and abdominal fat accumulation and is associated with adverse health outcomes in older adults. Evidence from multiple studies conducted in different countries regarding these outcomes is inconsistent. This systematic review and meta-analysis evaluated the association between dynapenic abdominal obesity and adverse health outcomes-specifically falls, disability, and mortality-among middle-aged and older adults.

Background: Pulmonary fibrosis (PF) is an age-related interstitial lung disease, which lacks effective drug treatment at present. Quercetin has been shown to have favorable anti-inflammatory and anti-fibrotic properties, and preliminary evidence suggests its potential efficacy and tolerability in PF patients. However, a comprehensive systematic review and evaluation of the protective effects and potential mechanisms of quercetin in PF models remains to be completed.

However, current models cannot be trivially applied to scene text recognition (STR) due to the compositional difference between natural and text images. We propose a novel instruction-guided scene text recognition (IGTR) paradigm that formulates STR as an instruction learning problem and understands text images by predicting character attributes, e.

Methods: This systematic review and meta-analysis included 15 studies: six evaluating the VTD regimen and nine evaluating the VRD one. The primary endpoints were response rates after induction therapy and the incidence of a need for autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantion (auto-HSCT) between the groups.
Achieving synergistic oxidation and reduction represents a significant challenge in the field of photocatalysis. In this study, the hydrothermal/in situ construction of Bi atom clusters within BiSnO/ZnInS (BSO/ZIS) heterostructures is reported. These clusters exhibit self-accelerating charge-transfer mechanisms facilitated by internal electric fields and bonding bridges, resulting in highly efficient light absorption and charge-transfer capabilities.

Methods: We systematically searched the Embase, Medline, Cochrane Library, and Scopus databases for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) published from their inception until January 1, 2024. A random-effects model was applied, and outcomes are presented as risk ratios (RRs) or standardized mean differences with 95% confidence intervals (CIs).

Acetamiprid is a third-generation neonicotinoid insecticide that is now widely employed for the protection of crops grown in outdoor environments. This is because it is considerably less toxic to pollinating insects than other neonicotinoids. Previous studies have shown that acetamiprid has direct physiological effects on adult and larval bees.

Reconfiguration of in situ heterojunction composites without interfacial resistance by substitution of homologous anions for the formation of gradient work function differences inducing the formation of built-in electric field is an effective strategy to enhance the charge separation efficiency. Herein, Te/ZnInS-V (Te/ZIS-V) in situ heterojunction was synthesized by substitution of Te ions for S in ultrathin ZIS containing S vacancies, which can significantly promote photogenerated charge separation, surface electron enrichment, and CO adsorption/activation. The presence of S vacancies and adjacent Te/S double anions, the double active sites constructed by defect engineering promote the desorption of *CO molecules while inhibiting the protonation toward *CHO, which was more favorable for selective CO photoreduction to CO.

Flumethrin mitigates Varroa's harm to honeybee colonies; however, its residues in colonies threaten the fitness of honeybee hosts and gut microbiota. Our previous research has shown that flumethrin induces significant physiological effects on honeybee larvae; but the effects of flumethrin on the gut microbiota and metabolism of adult honeybees are still unknown. In this study, 1-day-old honeybees were exposed to 0, 0.

This study investigated the effects of cold water immersion (CWI) and partial body cryotherapy (PBC) applied within a 15-min post-exercise recovery period on thermoregulatory responses, subjective perceptions, and exercise performance under hot conditions (39 °C). Twelve male soccer players participated in team-sports-specific assessments, including Agility T-test (T-test), 20-m sprint test (20M-ST), and Yo-Yo Intermittent Endurance Test Level 1 (YY-T), during two exercise bouts (1 bout and 2 bout) with a 15-min post-exercise recovery period. Within the recovery period, a 3-min of PBC at -110 °C or CWI at 15 °C or a seated rest (CON) was performed.
