Poor solubility and bioavailability have limited the application of fucoxanthin in drug and functional food processing. In order to encapsulate fucoxanthin in delivery systems, in this study, cellulose was isolated from industrial brown algae residues and high-pressure homogenized into cellulose nanofibrils (CNFs). Then, fucoxanthin was encapsulated into the Pickering emulsion stabilized by the CNFs.

Novel bread formulations with natural improvers have become an essential part of improving the quality of bakery products. In the present study, novel bread improvers made using Gagome kelp cellulose (GC) were systemically evaluated, and cellulose-improved dough (GC-dough), gluten (GC-gluten), and gluten protein and starch (GC-starch) were all studied. The results indicated that the water and oil holding capacity, cholesterol-adsorptive capacity, and the unsaturated fat and saturated fat adsorptive capacities of GC had increased.

Objective: This study aims to evaluate the hemorrhage risk in solid tumor patients receiving angiogenesis inhibitors (AGIs), immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs), and their combination using the FDA Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS) database.

Methods: Data from Q1 2011 to Q4 2023 were extracted from the FAERS database for solid tumor patients treated with AGIs, ICIs, or their combination. A disproportionality analysis was conducted by calculating the reporting odds ratio (ROR) and corresponding 95% confidence interval (CI), as well as the Proportional Reporting Ratio (PRR), to identify potential safety signals.

Immature PIT1-lineage pituitary neuroendocrine tumors (PitNETs)/adenomas (Immature PIT1-lineage tumors) are a rare and underrecognized subtype of PitNETs that exhibits distinct cytologic atypia features and aggressive clinical potential. Twenty-four-month-old male C57BL/6 mice with low serum testosterone levels were used as a late-onset hypogonadism (LOH) animal model for examining the effects of velvet antler polypeptide (VAP) on sexual function and testosterone synthesis. Methods: We observed the location of the expressions of P75NTR and nestin in the testis of the nestin-GFP transgenic mouse on postnatal day (PND) 5, 14 and 30 using immunofluorescence, and detected the expression levels of P75NTR in the testicular tissue of mice in different age groups by real-time quantitative PCR (RTqPCR) and flow cytometry. Then we cultured the P75NTR positive cells in neural stem cell culture medium and observed their neuronal differentiation capacity by orientation differentiation.
