Background: Predicting tumor regression grade (TRG) after neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (NCRT) in patients with locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC) preoperatively accurately is crucial for providing individualized treatment plans. This study aims to develop transrectal contrast-enhanced ultrasound-based (TR-CEUS) radiomics models for predicting TRG.

Methods: A total of 190 LARC patients undergoing NCRT and subsequent total mesorectal excision were categorized into good and poor response groups based on pathological TRG.

Background: Vitiligo is an acquired depigmentary disorder caused by the loss of functional melanocytes. Increasing evidence suggests that competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) interactions participate in this process, yet their global architecture in vitiligo remains unclear.

Objective: To delineate a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA)-microRNA (miRNA)-mRNA ceRNA network associated with vitiligo and to identify blood-borne RNA markers with diagnostic potential.

Dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP) has emerged as a powerful technique to overcome the sensitivity limit of solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance (ssNMR) spectroscopy through polarizing agents (PAs) carrying unpaired electrons. Nitroxide biradical-based PAs have garnered great attention due to their superior DNP performance. Here, we report TJPols─water-soluble acrylamide-linked nitroxide biradicals featuring facile large-scale synthesis.

Cystathionine-γ-lyase (CSE) is a pivotal bio-enzyme that catalyzes the cleavage of cystathionine, whose expression has been linked to a myriad of severe illnesses and tumorigenic processes. The development of reliable and sensitive detection plays an important role in better understanding the physiology and pathology of CSE. Herein, we introduce a facile colorimetric assay for CSE detection in physiological media, utilizing tetragonal barium titanate (T-BTO) nanoparticles (NPs) as an innovative oxidase-like (OXD) nanozyme.

One- and two-electron reductions of diborylacetylene with potassium graphite (KC) yielded radical anionic and dianionic 1,4-diborabutatrienes and , respectively. X-ray diffraction, electron paramagnetic resonance, and computational studies indicated the π electron delocalization over the B-C-C-B cumulene skeleton. possesses a relatively small HOMO-LUMO gap and exhibits a significantly red-shifted UV-vis absorption at λ = 578 nm, compared to the all-carbon tetraarylbutatrienes.

In this journal, a Correspondence by Ventura, Cozzi, and Ceroni reported time-resolved absorption spectroscopy studies in the electron transfer process from cyanoarene photocatalyst 3,4,5,6-tetrakis(diphenyl amino)phthalonitrile (4DPAPN) in the presence of tetrabutylammonium oxalate (TBAOx). This was used as a model reaction to investigate the mechanism of consecutive photoinduced electron transfer (ConPET) in our previously reported asymmetric [3+2] photocycloaddition. They proposed a new electron transfer pathway in which the electron from the excited state of the radical anion 4DPAPN* solvated in acetonitrile.

This study investigated the interactions between pepsin (PEP) and the organophosphite antioxidant Irgafos 168 (I 168), its metabolite 2,4-di-tert-butylphenol (24DP), focusing on structural, functional, and antioxidant implications. UV-Vis absorption spectra, fluorescence lifetimes and Stern-Volmer quenching analyses show that I 168/24DP statically bursts PEP with high binding affinity. Thermodynamic parameters, molecular docking analyses and molecular dynamics simulations (e.

SiO is a high-potential candidate material for silicon (Si) derived anodes, owing to its high specific capacity and commendable cycling performance. However, the irreversible formation of phases during lithiation results in low Initial Coulombic Efficiency (ICE). In this work, the Si/C composite (Si@FC) with a fluorine (F) -doped bilayer structure is synthesized via "Vapor-Phase Fluorination" using Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) as a source of fluorine and carbon.

This review systematically examines recent advances in self-powered wireless sensing technologies based on triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs), focusing on innovative methods that leverage breakdown discharge effects to achieve high-precision and long-distance signal transmission. These methods offer novel technical pathways and theoretical frameworks for next-generation wireless sensing systems. To address the core limitations of conventional wireless sensors, such as a restricted transmission range, high power consumption, and suboptimal integration, this analysis elucidates the mechanism of the generation of high-frequency electromagnetic waves through localized electric field ionization induced by breakdown discharge.

Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) is a biomedical intervention that dramatically lowers one's risk of acquiring HIV. However, PrEP uptake has been slow among young-adult men who have sex with men (YMSM) - one group highly vulnerable to HIV infection in the US. Drawing from health communication scholarship on information seeking and scanning, as well as on concepts from the health belief model, we convened individual interviews and focus groups with = 50 PrEP-eligible YMSM in the US to understand how and where YMSM acquire information about PrEP.

Due to the inherent high volatility and complexity of financial markets, traditional time series forecasting models face numerous challenges in handling both short- and long-term predictions in the stock market. Most traditional neural network-based financial prediction models are limited to short-term forecasting and struggle to capture long-term trends and global dependencies in the market fully. To address this, we propose a novel network architecture called ResMMoT-Informer.

Melasma is a recurrent and treatment-resistant hyperpigmentation disorder characterized by a complex and multifactorial pathogenesis. However, the lack of a stable and reliable animal model has hindered systematic investigations into its onset and progression. In this study, we established a melasma-like model in C57BL/6J mice by combining broadband UVB irradiation, intramuscular progesterone administration, and induced emotional stress.

Chromite ore processing residue (COPR), which contains soluble toxic Cr(Ⅵ), is a hazardous waste from chromium salts production process. The pre-reduced COPR was solidified using composite geopolymers synthesized from the calcined red mud (RM) and the granulated blast furnace slag (GBFS). Results indicated that higher Na₂S doses reduced the compressive strength of cured specimens but significantly enhanced chromium immobilization efficiency.

Creating relightable and animatable avatars from multi-view or monocular videos is a challenging task for digital human creation and virtual reality applications. Previous methods rely on neural radiance fields or ray tracing, resulting in slow training and rendering processes. By utilizing Gaussian Splatting, we propose a simple and efficient method to decouple body materials and lighting from sparse-view or monocular avatar videos, so that the avatar can be rendered simultaneously under novel viewpoints, poses, and lightings at interactive frame rates (6.

The interpretation of proteomics data often relies on functional enrichment analysis, such as Gene Ontology (GO) enrichment, to uncover the biological functions of proteins, as well as the examination of protein expression patterns across data sets like the Clinical Proteomic Tumor Analysis Consortium (CPTAC) database. However, conventional approaches to functional enrichment frequently produce extensive and redundant term lists, complicating interpretation and synthesis. Moreover, the absence of specialized tools tailored to proteomics researchers limits the efficient exploration of protein expression within specific biological contexts.
