To explore the effect, postoperative mucosal pathological changes and molecular biological changes of reboot operation for type 2 inflammation chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps(CRSwNP) patients, and to provide theoretical basis for the clinical application of this kind of operation. We collected 29 patients who were diagnosed with CRSwNP with type 2 inflammatino response and underwent Reboot surgery from June 2022 to August 2023, and 27 patients who were diagnosed with deviated septum and underwent simple submucosal resection of the septum as the control group. We conducted nasal symptom scoring, endoscopic sinusitis scoring, and CT scanning of the sinuses before and after surgery, as well as HE staining, immunohistochemical staining, and detection of inflammatory factors using Elisa kits at the time of surgery, 1, 3, and 6 months postoperatively.

Because of the significant difference between head and tail in structures, this article built a complete methylation analysis library based on partially methylated aldononitrile acetates (PMANs) for facilitated identification of complex glycosidic linkages in polysaccharides. This library covered full EI-MS spectra and detailed fragmentation behaviors of corresponding PMANs ascribed to 46 aldohexoses, 32 aldopentoses and 16 deoxyhexoses.

A forecast method is put forward combining back propagation neural network (BPNN) and differential equation (DE) for daily CCO modeling and was applied to Wangqingtuo Reservoir, in the northern semiarid region of China and the contribution of the DE was assessed by using BPNN model as a contrast. First, it is made up of BPNN and DE calibrations: (1) use historical data to calibrate BPNN models and obtain residuals; (2) use the particle swarm optimization to calibrate coefficients of the DE.

This study proposed an innovative discrete element model construction method for the plastic mulch film based on triangular elements. A composite model containing a base and bound layer was constructed to reflect the mechanical properties at different tensile stages.

This study aims to provide the latest assessment of the prevalence, incidence, mortality, and disability-adjusted life years (DALY) rates of brain and CNS cancers from 1990 to 2021 at the global, regional, and national levels, stratified by sex, age, and the Sociodemographic Index (SDI).
Methods: Data from the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) database were used to analyze the age-standardized prevalence (ASPR), incidence (ASIR), mortality (ASDR), and DALY rates of brain and CNS cancers.
Background: Stroke is a leading cause of death and disability worldwide, yet its treatment still faces significant challenges. Mendelian randomization (MR) has been widely used to discover new biomarkers and therapeutic targets. This study aimed to identify therapeutic targets for stroke within the plasma proteome range using MR.

The prevalence of allergic upper respiratory diseases is rising, and while air pollution may worsen them, study results vary, and comprehensive analyses are lacking. This study aimed to systematically evaluate the link between air pollution and these diseases (allergic rhinitis, asthma and chronic sinusitis (with/without nasal polyps)) to provide evidence for reducing their prevalence. A systematic search of PubMed, Embase, Web of Science and Scopus was conducted to find studies published up to 1 September 2024, regarding association between air pollution and allergic upper respiratory diseases.

Methods: A total of 172 adult patients were randomly assigned to four groups: RD group (n = 43) received topical 1% ropivacaine with dexamethasone spray, RP group (n = 43) received topical 1% ropivacaine spray, Saline group (n = 43) received topical saline spray, and Control group (n = 43): not receive any interventions. The groups were compared on resting pain scores at 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, and 10 days, changes in pain scores over 10 days, adverse reactions (including dizziness, nausea, difficulty opening the mouth, and pharyngeal foreign body sensation), the time to first solid food intake, the time to first oral pain medication, and total pain medication dosage within 10 days postoperatively.
Constructing near-infrared (NIR) phototherapy agents with good biosafety is highly desirable for cancer therapy. Herein, the combined "β-meso-core" engineering of porphyrin produces excellent photothermal/photoacoustic agents that exhibit locally excited NIR bands with high molar extinction coefficients reaching 10 scale. The β-anthracene fusion of porphyrins via retro-Diels-Alder reactions extends the π-systems, generating red-shifted and intensified Q bands with narrow half-widths.

Ferroptosis, a type of regulated cell death driven by iron-mediated lipid peroxidation, has recently emerged as a key pathological mechanism in the development of VaD. Ferroptosis drives neuronal damage in VaD, making it a promising therapeutic target to reduce neuronal death and preserve cognitive function.

However, conventional hydrogels are vulnerable to damage owing to mechanical stress and environmental factors that compromise their structural integrity and reduce their lifespan. In contrast, self-healing hydrogels with their inherent ability to restore structure and function autonomously offer prolonged efficacy and enhanced appeal.

Experimental Methods: Transcriptome sequencing (RNA-seq) analysis identified differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in nasal mucosa between healthy and allergic mice, with Gene Set Enrichment Analysis (GSEA) revealing STING pathway activation. We established a house dust mite (HDM)-induced allergic rhinitis (AR) mouse model via intraperitoneal sensitization.
Objectives: GATA6 expression is recognized as a favorable prognostic marker of pancreatic cancer, whereas TP53 is a poor prognostic marker. We evaluated treatment outcomes by genetic alterations in TP53 and GATA6 to determine the prognostic and predictive impact of co-alterations.
Materials And Methods: A single institution retrospective analysis was performed on patients diagnosed with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma between 2014 and 2023.
Peripheral neuropathy can be a rare symptom of erythrocytosis through an ischemia-related mechanism. Vitamin B12 deficiency is another cause of peripheral neuropathy through the impaired maintenance of peripheral myelin sheaths. Patients with myeloproliferative disorders causing erythrocytosis can present clinically with functional, symptomatic vitamin B12 deficiencies despite normal serum levels.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFFine particulate matter (PM), a major air pollutant, plays a critical role in exacerbating respiratory diseases such as allergic rhinitis (AR) by inducing inflammation. While its association with AR is well established, the precise mechanisms by which PM triggers pyroptosis and compromises nasal epithelial barrier integrity remain unclear. This study investigates the role of PM in promoting pyroptosis in nasal epithelial cells and its contribution to AR pathogenesis.

Driven by the miniaturization of microelectronic devices and their multifunctionalities, the development of new quadruple-perovskite oxides with high dielectric constants and high Curie temperature are highly required. Herein, we report on the structural, dielectric and magnetic properties of Sb/Cr-doped CaCuTiO(CCTO) quadruple perovskite oxides, CaCuTiSbO(CCTSO) and CaCuTiCrO(CCTCO). Structural Rietveld refinements demonstrated that the CCTO, CCTSO, and CCTCO ceramics adopted a cubic crystal structure (3¯ space group).

Unlabelled: Ischemic stroke ranks as the second leading cause of global mortality and disability. Although reperfusion is crucial for salvaging brain tissue, it carries the risk of secondary injuries, such as ferroptosis. Gastrodin, a neuroprotective compound found in Chinese herbal medicine, may regulate this process.
