Acne vulgaris (AV) is a chronic inflammatory skin disease with a complex pathogenesis, and its association with insulin resistance (IR) remains unclear. Abscisic acid (ABA) is essential for plant resistance to both biotic and abiotic stresses, but its regulation during virus infection and role in antiviral defense remain poorly understood. Here, we report that overexpression of SlWRKY81 led to increased ABA accumulation, whereas silencing SlWRKY81 reduced ABA levels in tomato plants. Further analysis revealed that SlWRKY81 directly binds the promoters of ABA biosynthesis genes SlABA2 and SlABA3, thereby activating their expression.

In this study, cellulose nanocrystals (CNC) were first extracted from peanut shells. Then, the monomers DMAEMA and MAA were grafted on the surface of CNC using reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization to prepare multi-stimuli responsive nanoparticles (CNC/PDM), and they were used to stabilize Pickering emulsions. In this study, we infected Holstein calves with Ostertagia ostertagi stage 3 larvae (L3) and determined gene expression profiles of abomasal fundic and pyloric mucosa by RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) at 3-5, 7-9, 10, and 21 days post-infection (dpi), which represent late L3 and early L4 (between 3-5 dpi), mid to late L4 (between 7-9 and 10 dpi) and adult stages (21 dpi) of the parasitic stage. Bioinformatics analyses were performed to profile the transcriptomic changes over time as well as between cattle abomasal tissues. The results will help understand the gastric responses of the host, especially the immune responses, at different phases of early nematode infection.

Two phylogenetically unrelated viruses transmitted by different insect vectors, tomato spotted wilt virus (TSWV) and tomato yellow leaf curl virus (TYLCV), are major threats to tomato and other vegetable production. Although co-infections of TSWV and TYLCV on the same host plant have been reported on numerous occasions, there is still lack of research attempting to elucidate the mechanisms underlying the relationship between two viruses when they coexist in the same tomato or other plants. After assessing the effect of four TSWV-coded proteins on suppressing TYLCV in TSWV N transgenic Nicotiana benthamiana seedlings, the TSWV N protein proved to be effective in reducing TYLCV quantity and viral symptoms.
