Our research aims to ascertain the value of precursor and outgrowth lepidic in aiding the confirmation of multiple lung adenocarcinomas as separate primary lung cancers (SPLC). A total of 151 patients with metachronous multiple invasive adenocarcinomas were included in this study. Driver mutation tests(at least five genes: EGFR, ALK, KRAS, BRAF, and ROS1) were conducted on 302 tumors collected from 151 patients.

This study aims to compare retinal vascular characteristics between ApoE ε4 carriers and non-carriers in healthy individuals. A total of 84 cognitively healthy subjects-64 non-carriers and 20 carriers of the ApoE ε4 allele-were analyzed using swept-source optical coherence tomography angiography (SS-OCTA). In the retinal vascular layer of OCTA images, parameters such as foveal avascular zone (FAZ) area, vessel perimeter, acircularity index (AI), and vascular density (FD) were quantified.

Objective: To comprehensively evaluate the validity, responsiveness, and feasibility of surface topography (ST) indices and provide insights into their potential integration into clinical scoliosis assessment.
Data Sources: A systematic literature search was performed in PubMed and Web of Science for studies published between January 2010 and April 2024.
Study Selection: Studies reporting on the validity, responsiveness, and feasibility of ST indices were screened and selected by two independent researchers.
A catalyst-free method has been discovered based on photoexcited electron donor-acceptor complexes to generate an iminyl radical and endocyclic 1-azaallyl radicals, elusive intermediates that have never been reported in synthesis. The two radicals then combine and, following reduction, ultimately provide unprotected 2-(hetero)aryl-3-aminopiperidines. This reaction expands the knowledge and synthetic application of endocyclic 1-azaallyl synthons with an intrinsic ring strain.

Total neoadjuvant therapy (TNT) has become one of the standard treatments for locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC). It remains unclear whether CALLY can predict the prognosis for LARC patients.

New diagnostic strategies based on host genes have recently been developed and have achieved high accuracy and clinical practicability. In this study, through integrative bioinformatics analysis, we aimed to construct artificial neural network (ANN, multilayer perceptron) and random forest (RF) models based on host gene signatures to diagnose bacterial or viral (B/V) infection in febrile children.

Thus, the aim of this study was to compare the perioperative outcomes and prognoses between neoadjuvant chemotherapy combined with immunotherapy (NACI) and neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (NCRT) in cT3br ESCC patients.
Methods: In this retrospective cohort study, patients with cT3br ESCC who received either NACI or NCRT followed by surgery between January 2016 and December 2022 were identified.

Interoperability between data sources, one of the FAIR (Findability, Accessibility, Interoperability, and Reusability) principles for scientific data management, can enable multi-modality research. The purpose of our study was to investigate the potential for interoperability between an imaging resource, the Medical Imaging and Data Resource Center (MIDRC), and a clinical record resource, the National COVID Cohort Collaborative (N3C). The use case was the prediction of COVID-19 severity, defined as evidence for invasive ventilatory support, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, death, or discharge to hospice in the N3C clinical record.

Objective: Based on Mendelian randomization (MR) methods, this study aims to explore causal associations of uric acid (UA) levels with aortic aneurysms (AAs).
Methods: In this MR study, data on UA levels and gout were extracted from genome-wide association study (GWAS) meta-analysis conducted by UK Biobank (UKB) for European population and the Biobank Japan Project (BBJ) for Asian population. Summary statistics of AAs were obtained from different databases.
Background: Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) is a multifaceted syndrome with high morbidity and mortality. Empagliflozin, an SGLT2 (sodium-glucose cotransporter 2) inhibitor, reduces adverse events in patients with HFpEF regardless of glycemic control. However, the precise cardioprotective mechanisms of SGLT2 inhibitor in HFpEF remain underexplored.

To address this issue, we propose a transfer learning-based method that leverages low-frequency SSVEP data to enhance high-frequency SSVEP performance. A filtering mechanism is designed to extract informative components from low-frequency signals, and the least squares algorithm is employed to generate high-quality synthetic high-frequency data.

Particularly, the initial inhomogeneous halide phase distribution in WBG perovskites can accelerate the phase segregation under operational stressors, thus hindering scaling of TSCs that require high phase homogeneity. Here, a selective delayed crystallization strategy is proposed in which a functional agent (3-amino-5-fluorobenzamide; AFBA) is used to regulate the initial halide phase distribution.

The Medical Imaging and Data Resource Center (MIDRC), a multi-institutional collaborative initiative to collect, curate, and share medical imaging datasets, has made interoperability with other data commons one of its top priorities. The purpose of this study was to demonstrate the interoperability between MIDRC and two other data repositories, BioData Catalyst (BDC) and National Clinical Cohort Collaborative (N3C).

Current fake news detection systems predominantly rely on isolated unimodal analysis (text or image), failing to exploit critical cross-modal correlations or leverage latent social context cues. To bridge this gap, we introduce the SCCN (emantic-enhanced ross-modal o-attention etwork), a novel framework that synergistically combines multimodal features with refined social graph signals.

Renal denervation (RDN) causes reduction in blood pressure (BP), but its effects on hypertension-related atrial remodeling remain unclear. This study aimed to explore the effects of RDN at BP-elevation/reduction sites guided by renal nerve stimulation (RNS) on atrial neural and structural remodeling in a hypertensive canine model.

The crystals are examined using various techniques to ensure the pure single crystal phase. Among the crystals investigated, only the MAPbCl3 and MAPbBr3 crystals display the Faraday rotation effect in a broad visible range.

Ticks, as hematophagous arthropods, are capable of switching hosts during their life cycle. Although previous research has suggested the potential for parapoxviral transmission via ticks, the poxviral transmission dynamics remain poorly understood, particularly regarding the role of ticks as vectors.
