The inflammatory cytokine storm is a hallmark of sepsis and is highly correlated with organ injury. Therefore, inhibiting inflammatory cytokine production is a straightforward strategy for effectively treating this disease. In this study, we found that microvesicles from lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-primed macrophages could transfer mitochondria to other macrophages and alter their biological functions.

Here, we observed that apple () leaves exhibiting deficiencies in sorbitol synthesis due to antisense inhibition of () presented an increase in cytokinin content and exhibited a delay in leaf senescence, in contrast to wild-type (WT) leaves. Transcriptome analysis indicated that the expression of (), encoding a key enzyme in the cytokinin degradation pathway, was significantly downregulated in the antisense lines.

Method Of Study: Our study integrated proteomics data from endometrial tissues of six RIF patients and six controls, with single-cell sequencing insights.
Introduction: Effective prediction methods for monitoring the risk of recurrence of colorectal cancer liver metastasis (CRLM) and guiding postoperative adjuvant treatment (ACT) are currently lacking. This study aimed to evaluate the value of postoperative dynamic circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) monitoring in guiding ACT and predicting recurrence compared with other clinicopathological factors.
Methods: This prospective study enrolled 414 consecutive patients with CRLM who underwent radical resection.
Background: This study aimed to identify predictive factors for chemotherapy response in colorectal liver metastasis (CRLM) patients.
Methods: Eligible participants with CRLM who had undergone at least two systemic chemotherapy cycles postdiagnosis were retrospectively analyzed. They were categorized as responders and nonresponders based on tumor size reduction.
In apples, fruit firmness is a crucial quality trait influencing fruit storability, transportability, shelf life and consumer preference. However, the genetic network underlying this trait remains unclear. Therefore, the present study investigated the changes in apple fruit at different stages of postharvest storage using a combination of transcriptomic and metabolomic analyses.

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by social impairments, repetitive behaviors, and restricted interests. Studies have shown that it is more prevalent in males than females. Although this issue has attracted academic attention since the 20th century, the specific mechanisms underlying the gender differences in ASD remain unclear.

Objectives: To summarize the clinical manifestations and genetic characteristics of creatine deficiency syndrome (CDS) caused by gene mutations.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical and genetic data of two children diagnosed with GAMT deficiency-type CDS at the Children's Medical Center of Xiangya Hospital, Central South University, from December 2020 to December 2024.
Results: The two patients presented with symptoms in infancy, and both had compound heterozygous mutations in the gene.
High carbohydrate availability promotes malic acid accumulation in fleshy fruits, but the underlying mechanism is not known. Here, we show that antisense repression of ALDOSE-6-PHOSPHATE REDUCTASE in apple (Malus domestica) decreases the concentrations of sorbitol and malate and the transcript levels of several genes involved in vacuolar malate transport, including the aluminum-activated malate transporter (ALMT) gene MdALMT9 (Ma1), the P-ATPase gene MdPH5, the MYB transcription factor gene MdMYB73, and the cold-induced basic helix-loop-helix transcription factor gene MdCIbHLH1, in fruit and leaves. We identified a linker histone H1 variant, MdH1.

Cellular plasticity serves as a crucial biological phenomenon in humans, integral to tissue repair and maintenance of dynamic environmental homeostasis post-injury. However, dysregulated activation of this beneficial mechanism can pave the way for tumorigenesis and cancer progression. In this review, we synthesize recent advancements concerning the properties and roles of gastric epithelial cells, with a special emphasis on cellular plasticity and fate specification during the progress of gastric tumorigenesis.

Recent evidence suggests that total flavonoids of Astragalus (TFA) has promising effects on diabetes; however, its influence on DKD and the underlying mechanism remains unclear.
Methods: In this study, we induced the DKD model using streptozotocin (STZ) in male C57BL/6J mice and utilized glomerular endothelial cell (GEC) lines for in vitro investigations.
Tea is a popular beverage with characteristic functional and flavor qualities, known to be rich in bioactive metabolites such as tea polyphenols and theanine. Recently, tea varieties with variations in leaf color have been widely used in agriculture production due to their potential advantages in terms of tea quality. Numerous studies have used genome, transcriptome, metabolome, proteome, and lipidome methods to uncover the causes of leaf color variations and investigate their impacts on the accumulation of crucial bioactive metabolites in tea plants.

This study is based on ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography(UPLC), gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS), and network pharmacology methods to analyze and predict potential quality markers(Q-markers) of Artemisiae Argyi Folium. First, UPLC and GC-MS techniques were used to analyze the content of 12 non-volatile components and 8 volatile components in the leaves of 33 Artemisia argyi germplasm resources as candidate Q-markers. Subsequently, network pharmacology was employed to construct a "component-target-pathway-efficacy" network to screen out core Q-markers, and the biological activity of the markers was validated using molecular docking.
