Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) frequently develops resistance to sorafenib, a first-line treatment for advanced HCC. While PD-L1 contributes to immune evasion and direct tumor survival, its role in modulating sorafenib resistance via non-immunological pathways remains unclear. This study investigates the PD-L1/ITGB4 axis in regulating sorafenib sensitivity.

Despite its significant clinical impact, this entity lacks standardized diagnostic criteria in current WHO classifications.
Methods: We performed a retrospective analysis of 55 PBM-DLBCL cases from our institutional database and published literature (2001-2022) to characterize disease features and identify prognostic factors, with particular focus on assessing how different treatment regimens influence therapeutic efficacy and long-term outcomes.
Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remains a major global health burden, with microRNA Let-7b-5p (Let-7b-5p) emerging as a potential tumor suppressor. However, its precise role and molecular mechanisms in HCC progression remain unclear, necessitating further investigation.
Methods: We assessed Let-7b-5p expression in HCC versus normal hepatocytes via qRT-PCR and employed functional assays (clone formation, EdU, scratch, Transwell, apoptosis) to examine its effects on proliferation, migration, and cell death.
Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) have emerged as global concerns due to their environmental persistence and associated toxicity. Therefore, accurate detection of PFOA/PFOS in water samples and biological systems is of great importance. In this study, we have designed and synthesized a novel fluorescent sensor ES based on tetraphenyl derivatives for one-step concurrent detection of PFOA and PFOS.

Owing to their small particle size and physicochemical properties, NPs can evade engineered defenses, exhibit greater toxicity, and affect the physiological functions of multiple organs in the human body through the circulatory system and biological barriers. Therefore, we should pay attention to the multi-organ toxicity effects caused by NPs and their mechanisms.

As the regulatory mechanism underlying this accumulation remains unclear, the role played by light in the regulation of SlJAF13, a bHLH transcription factor responsible for anthocyanin biosynthesis in tomato fruit peel, was examined. Gene expression analysis, GUS staining, and immunoblotting assays revealed that light enhanced the stability of SlJAF13 protein at a post-transcriptional level rather than transcriptionally.

Objective: This study aimed to investigate whether noise exposure in hospital sterile supply centers exacerbated the psychological burden on staff, potentially mediated by concerns about physiological health.
Methods: Between July 5 and August 4, 2023, 308 staffs from central sterile supply departments in 30 hospitals in Hainan were chosen by convenient sampling method. They completed self-administered questionnaires to assess noise exposure status and used the Self-Reporting Inventory-90 to quantify the psychological state of staff across three dimensions: somatization, anxiety, and sleep and diet.
Objective: Rotator cuff injury is a common injury that includes inflammation, partial tearing, or complete tearing of the rotator cuff tendon. In cases of rotator cuff tears (RCTs), Tumor Necrosis Factor-alpha (TNF-α) can trigger the release of nerve growth factor (NGF). TNF-α is an important inflammatory mediator that affects rotator cuff activity and increased NGF expression is observed in RCTs.

In recent years, lactate has been recognized as an important circulating energy substrate rather than only a dead-end metabolic waste product generated during glucose oxidation at low levels of oxygen. The term "aerobic glycolysis" has been coined to denote increased glucose uptake and lactate production despite normal oxygen levels and functional mitochondria. Hence, in "aerobic glycolysis," lactate production is a metabolic choice, whereas in "anaerobic glycolysis," it is a metabolic necessity based on inadequate levels of oxygen.
