Acute myeloid leukemia (AML), which is characterized by the aberrant proliferation of primitive and immature myelocytes within the bone marrow, represents the most prevalent subtype of leukemia in both adults and children. Isoimperatorin, a derivative of coumarins, has been reported to possess antitumor, antioxidative and anti-inflammatory activities. In the present study, the effects of isoimperatorin on human AML cells were evaluated.

ε-Poly-lysine (ε-PL) is a naturally occurring antimicrobial polypeptide that has been approved as a food preservative in several major global markets, including Japan, China, and the United States, where it is classified as Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS). It exhibits efficacy against Gram-positive and select Gram-negative bacteria, indicating its broad potential for application in both industrial and medical sectors. The mature fermentation process of Streptomyces albulus has established it as the primary production strain for ε-PL.

Methods: In this systematic review and meta-analysis, we utilized PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Library databases to identify studies that detail the thyroid immune-related adverse events (irAEs) among cancer patients undergoing treatment with ICIs. Literature was screened according to inclusion and exclusion criteria, and data were extracted.
Peanut meal, a by-product of peanut oil extraction, is rich in protein but remains underutilized. Previous studies have indicated that peanut protein hydrolysate (PPH) exhibits strong antioxidant activity, but the antioxidant mechanisms and functional effects of PPH remain unclear. Therefore, this study aimed to purify, identify, and synthesize novel antioxidant peptides from PPH and evaluate their protective effects against oxidative damage in HepG2 cells.

Redox signaling acts as a critical mediator in the dynamic interactions between organisms and their external environment, profoundly influencing both the onset and progression of various diseases. Under physiological conditions, oxidative free radicals generated by the mitochondrial oxidative respiratory chain, endoplasmic reticulum, and NADPH oxidases can be effectively neutralized by NRF2-mediated antioxidant responses. These responses elevate the synthesis of superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase, as well as key molecules like nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADPH) and glutathione (GSH), thereby maintaining cellular redox homeostasis.

Due to the continuous growth of global carbon dioxide emissions, the development of cost-effective carbon dioxide capture technology has attracted extensive attention. Amino-modified chitosan aerogels with lamellar porous structures are good candidates as carbon dioxide adsorbents because of their degradable properties and low energy consumption. Polyethylene polyamine-modified chitosan aerogels (PEPA-CSs) were prepared through a process of crosslinking and freeze-drying using a chitosan solution, polyethylene polyamine (PEPA), and epichlorohydrin (ECH) as raw materials.

Here, we report that low-protein (LP) diets decrease amino acids levels, impair the DNA damage response (DDR), cause DNA damage and exacerbate inflammation in intestinal tissues of male mice with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Intriguingly, loss of nuclear fragile X mental retardation-interacting protein 1 (NUFIP1) contributes to the amino acid deficiency-induced impairment of the DDR in vivo and in vitro and induces necroptosis-related spontaneous enteritis.

Genetically encodable photosensitizers allow the design of artificial photoenzymes to expand the scope of abiological reactions. Herein, we report the genetic incorporation of a thioxanthone-containing amino acid into a protein scaffold via an engineered pyrrolysyl-tRNA/pyrrolysyl-tRNA synthetase pair. The designer enzyme was engineered to catalyze a dearomative [2+2] cycloaddition reaction in high yields (up to>99 % yield) with excellent enantioselectivity (up to 98 : 2 e.

However, its clinical use is hindered by its low water solubility and bioavailability. A pH/glutathione (GSH) dual-responsive nano-herb delivery system (PMDC NPs) has been developed for the targeted delivery of DHA, accompanied by abundant carbon monoxide (CO) release.

An amylolytic industrial yeast strain with co-expressing α-amylase and glucoamylase genes would combine enzyme production, SPR hydrolysis, and glucose fermentation into a one-step process. This consolidated bioprocessing (CBP) shows great application potential in the economic production of bioethanol.

However, whether the high frequency of rTMS positively correlates to the improvement of motor symptoms of PD is still undecided. By controlling for other parameters, a disease animal model may be useful to compare the neuroprotective effects of different high frequencies of rTMS.

Recent evidence indicates that Wnt/β-catenin signaling is broadly activated and participates in the refractoriness of BRAF V600E CRC, but the underlying molecular mechanism needs to be elucidated. Here, heat shock 70 kDa protein 8 (HSPA8), an essential regulator in chaperone-mediated autophagy (CMA), is identified as a potential therapeutic target for advanced BRAF V600E CRC.

After 48 h of fermentation with different strains (10% inoculation amount), we compared the effects of several strains on the nutritional and functional constituents (protein, soluble dietary fiber, organic acid, soluble sugar, total polyphenol, free amino acid, and sensory characteristics). The results demonstrated that the total sugar level of sweet potato slurry fell significantly after fermentation by various strains, indicating that these strains can utilize the nutritious components of sweet potato slurry for fermentation.
