This study employed bioinformatics to screen the feature genes related to efferocytosis in diabetic kidney disease(DKD) and explores traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) regulating these feature genes. The GSE96804 and GSE30528 datasets were integrated as the training set, and the intersection of differentially expressed genes and efferocytosis-related genes(ERGs) was identified as DKD-ERGs. Subsequently, correlation analysis, protein-protein interaction(PPI) network construction, enrichment analysis, and immune infiltration analysis were performed.

Methodology: Primary human dental pulp cells (HDPCs) were stimulated with lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and subjected to integrated transcriptomic and metabolomic profiling to map inflammation-associated metabolic shifts. Functional validation included linolenic acid (LA) supplementation (alone or combined with a Fatty Acid Synthase (FASN) inhibitor, TVB-2640), Nuclear receptor subfamily 4 group A member 1 (NR4A1) knockdown, cytokine/NF-κB assessment (ELISA, Western blot), and lipid droplet/FASN visualisation (immunofluorescence).

Introduction: The association between the visceral adiposity index (VAI) and cognitive function in middle-aged and older Chinese adults is not well understood. The "obesity paradox"-where obesity appears to be linked with better health outcomes-has also been observed. This study aims to clarify the association by using data from a nationally representative longitudinal survey.

Purpose: Sarcopenia and obesity are recognized factors associated with the onset of depression. Our study aims to clarify the specific impact of sarcopenic obesity on depression development and the longitudinal trajectories of depressive symptoms.
Methods: Data from the 2011-2020 China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS) were utilized, including 8532 participants aged ≥ 45 years.
Background: Immune-mediated kidney diseases involve the immune system attacking the kidneys, resulting in damage and dysfunction. Tripterygium glycosides (TG) are known for their strong immunosuppressive and anti-inflammatory effects and are commonly used alongside traditional immunosuppressive agents. However, evidence-based support for the combined use of these treatments in immune-mediated kidney diseases remains insufficient and requires further validation.

Xuefu Zhuyu decoction (XFZY) has therapeutic effects on diabetic kidney disease (DKD)-induced renal interstitial fibrosis (RIF), but the mechanisms are unclear. This study investigates XFZY's molecular mechanisms through network pharmacology and experimental validation. Ultra-performance liquid chromatography-quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (UPLC-Q-TOF-MS) and database screening was used to identify XFZY bioactive compounds.

However, due to the complex intraoral environment, data loss during scanning is common, leading to incomplete three-dimensional (3D) point clouds. This study aimed to develop and evaluate a deep learning-based method to automatically restore missing regions in intraoral 3D point clouds, thereby improving the accuracy and efficiency of digital orthodontic workflows.

Extracellular vesicles (EVs) have emerged as key mediators of intercellular communication, facilitating the exchange of biological signals between trophoblasts and macrophages. In this study, trophoblasts-derived EVs (Tro-Evs) were isolated by ultracentrifugation and characterized using nanoparticle tracking analysis, transmission electron microscopy and western blot.

Kidney diseases represent a diverse group of disorders with pathogenic mechanisms involving multiple pathological processes, including inflammation, immunity, and cell death. Neutrophils, as primary effector cells in inflammatory immune responses, participate in defending against renal infection and injury by releasing reactive oxygen species, proteases, and cytokines. However, persistent neutrophil activation is considered a crucial driver of kidney disease progression.

By introducing piezoelectric materials into hydrogel oral dressings, a microelectric field could be generated under stress stimulation, thus facilitating oral wound healing. However, to adapt to the moist and dynamic environment of the oral cavity, traditional "step-by-step" synthesis often requires the combination of materials with different functionalities. Given the property differences between these materials, this strategy typically involves complex experimental procedures and unnecessary energy consumption.

While CBCT offers more precise 3D evaluation, manual segmentation remains labor-intensive and prone to variability. Recent advances in deep learning enable automatic, accurate tooth segmentation from CBCT images.

Recent studies reveal that elevated HIF-1α expression in the placenta is involved in SLE-associated APOs and multiple pregnancy complications, but no clinically approved HIF-1α inhibitors exist to mitigate APOs. OA17, a pentacyclic triterpenoid derived from structural modification of oleanolic acid (OA), exhibits potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

This study seeks to explore the link between α-klotho levels and the risk of diabetic kidney disease (DKD) as well as all-cause and cardiovascular mortality among individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).
Methods: The investigation involved 126 Chinese T2DM patients and 4,451 individuals from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) database.

Background: Diabetic kidney disease (DKD) is one of the common microvascular complications of diabetes. The exploration of serum biomarkers holds promise for improving the efficiency and accuracy of early DKD diagnosis. This study aims to investigate the diagnostic value of transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1) and cystatin C (CysC) in DKD patients.

Existing evidence indicates that hypoxia potentially contributes to the pathology of RA, though the specific mechanism remains unidentified. In this study, we explored the molecular mechanism through which the hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF-1α) contributed to the pathological process of RA.

Since the applicability of recombinant flavoenzymes is compromised by divergent glycosylation patterns and substoichiometric FAD occupancy, this study employed experimental and computational methods to analyze the deflavination and reconstitution of three GMC-oxidoreductases from a structural perspective. The results demonstrated that the amount of glycosylation of flavoenzymes is critical for both processes.

This study explored the novel mechanism of Astragaloside IV (As) in treating sepsis and its application through a biomimetic nano-delivery system (As@ZM). Sepsis, a condition of organ dysfunction caused by an abnormal host response to infection, poses a significant threat to global health due to its high mortality rate. Our findings revealed a new mechanism for As in treating sepsis, which involved the reduction of neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) release, potentially related to As binding with IκBα to inhibit the activation of the NF-κB pathway.

Oral mucosal injuries are commonly caused by factors such as trauma, infection, or inflammation, especially in diabetic patients where healing is difficult and significantly affects quality of life. In this study, a nanocarrier system based on DNA tetrahedrons (TDN) is developed, which serve as ideal vectors due to their excellent intracellular uptake and drug delivery capabilities. By efficiently delivering miR132 into cells, the proliferation and migration of human oral mucosal fibroblasts (HOMFs) and human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) are regulated, along with the modulation of inflammation and antioxidant processes.

Background: Recurrent spontaneous abortion (RSA) is defined as two or more consecutive spontaneous abortions before 20 weeks with the same spouse [1]. However, approximately 50% of RSA cases of unknown cause are classified as unexplained recurrent spontaneous abortion (URSA). Potential factors include decreased trophoblast cell migration and invasion, leading to impaired placental implantation and maintenance of the normal maternal-fetal interface.
