Background: Whether specific antihypertensive treatments increase cancer risk in patients with hypertension is still controversial. We aimed to estimate the associations of different antihypertensive treatments with cancer risk in real-world settings.

Methods: A longitudinal cohort study was designed in a population of 1.

Background: The relationship between mixed metal exposure and metabolic syndrome (MetS) remains controversial, and the underlying mechanisms of this relationship are not yet fully understood.

Objective: We evaluated the association between urinary metals and MetS and investigated the potential mediating effect of ageing.

Methods: This study utilized National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) data from 1999 to 2018 and included 11,541 adults aged 20 years and above.

Objective: This study aimed to investigate the influence of exposure to ambient fine particulate matter (PM) and its components during pregnancy on the prevalence of preterm birth (PTB). Additionally, we sought to identify the susceptible exposure window. Furthermore, we explored the potential mediating role of blood analysis and a comprehensive metabolic panel in the association between pollutant exposure and PTB incidence.

Article Synopsis
  • Unfavorable lipid and glucose levels may contribute significantly to the development of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), yet there is a scarcity of prospective studies on this relationship during pregnancy.
  • The study aimed to examine how lipid profiles and ratios change from early to mid-pregnancy and their correlation with GDM risk among pregnant women in Fujian Province, China.
  • Findings revealed that high levels of certain lipids (like triglycerides and LDL-c) and specific lipid ratios in early and mid-pregnancy are positively linked to increased GDM risk, whereas higher HDL-c levels are associated with a lower risk.

Introduction: Research on the trajectory of dietary patterns and changes in obesity has been inconclusive.

Methods: This study described the dietary intake and adiposity trajectories of Chinese adults and assessed the association between dietary trajectories and changes in body mass index (BMI) and waist-to-hip ratio (WHR). We used data from 3, 643 adults who participated in the China Health and Nutrition Survey from 1997 to 2015.

Objective: To establish an analytical method for rapid identification of chemical compositions and quantitative determination of major compositions in Buyang Huanwu decoction (BYHWD) based on high performance liquid chromatography-quadrupole orbitrap mass spectrometry (HPLC-Q-Exactive MS) and high performance liquid chromatography-ultraviolet detection (HPLC-UV).

Methods: The mass spectrometry information was collected in Full MS/dd-MS negative ion mode with HPLC-Q-Exactive MS system; the chemical compositions of BYHWD were subsequently annotated with Compound Discoverer 3.0 software and a self-built in-house compound library.
